Welcome to my Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 Park Editor FAQ. This guide will
show you the basics of Park Editor mode, all the pieces in the sets, and
information and transfer listings on all of the 50 parks. This guide
will not help with any of the other aspects of this game. If you need a
detailed guide on most of the other aspects of this game, check out my
other FAQ over at www.gamefaqs.com.
The Park Editor is one of the most fun parts of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
2. After everything else in the game is completed, it's great to be able
to just take as long as you want creating your own detailed park in one
of the most advanced level editors ever made for a PlayStation game. But
Park Editor mode doesn't only let you create parks, it also has 50 pre-
made parks ready for you to play, each with their own transfers to find.
I hope you find my FAQ of some use as you play Park Editor mode.
Select - Change the camera angle. There are four camera angles to
choose from.
Square - Change the view. There are four views to choose from.
Circle - Rotate a Park Editor piece
X - Place a piece on the grid.
Triangle - Erase a piece from the grid.
L1 - Move up a set.
L2 - Move down a set.
R1 - Move up a piece in the set.
R2 - Move down a piece in the set.
Start - Park Editor menu.
=====================================================================
Park Editor Menu
=====================================================================
To get to this menu, simply select "Park Editor" from the main menu of
the game.
--------
Continue
--------
This allows you to start, or continue creating a park.
---------
Test Play
---------
Test out your park. This allows to test your park before you've finished
creating it.
--------
New Park
--------
This will bring up a new menu:
16 By 16
24 By 24
30 By 30
30 By 18
60 By 6
These are all Park Editor sizes. 16 By 16 is a very small park, 30 By 30
is a very large park, and 60 by 6 is a very long park. Some of the best
Pre-Made parks in this game are actually the small ones. Don't use a
large space for a park if you only intend on creating a small park.
---------
Set Theme
---------
This will bring up a new menu:
Power Plant
Industrial
Outdoor
School
These are all different themes for your park. When you choose a theme,
the background, floor, and even the objects will change to suit that
background. The Power Plant and Industrial themes are indoor skateparks,
while the Outdoor and School are outdoor skateparks.
----
Save
----
This saves your park onto your memory card. It only takes up one slot on
your memory card, so make sure you have some room on your memory card
before you start building your park.
----
Load
----
This loads your park from your memory card.
--------------
Pre-Made Parks
--------------
This will bring up a list of 50 pre-made parks which you can choose
from. All of the parks are very well designed, and should give you a few
ideas on how you can build your own park. For more information on these
parks, read the Pre-Made Parks section in this FAQ.
-----------
Exit Editor
-----------
This exits the editor and takes you back to the main screen.
=====================================================================
Gap Editor Menu
=====================================================================
To get to the Gap Editor menu, go to Park Editor mode, and then place an
object, such as a low riser, in the middle of the park. Place another
object down next to the other object, so there's a small gap between
them. Then go through the sets until you come to the Gap Creation Piece
(Set 2). Select the first object with the riser, and it will turn blue.
Then select the other object, and the Gap Editor menu will appear.
--------
Name Gap
--------
This will allow you to name your gap. You can name your gaps whatever
you like, as they don't effect your park in any way. You can use up to a
maximum of 24 characters in your gap names.
---------------
Set Point Value
---------------
This will bring up a menu:
50
100
150
200
300
400
500
750
1000
1250
1500
1750
2000
2500
3000
5000
These are all point values which you can use for your transfers. It may
be a good idea not to score all of your gaps too high, as it's more fun
to play a park knowing that there's a very difficult gap worth 5000
points, than to get 5000 points for every gap in the park. If you look
at some of Pre-Made parks, a lot of the simple gaps are only set to 50
points, and even some of the more difficult gaps are set to 100 points.
Whereas only the extremely difficult gaps are set to 5000.
------------
Set Gap Type
------------
This will bring up a menu:
Air Gap
Rail Gap
Manual Gap
Wallride Gap
These are all different types of gaps. Air Gaps are used for when you
want to jump from one object the other. Rail Gaps are used for when you
want to grind from one object the other. Manual Gaps are used for when
you want to manual from one object to the other. And wallrides are used
for when you want to wallride from one object to the other. It may be a
good idea to vary the types of gaps in your level, as only having one
type of a gap in a level makes the gaps easy to find.
------
Adjust
------
This adjusts your gap. Blue lines will appear, showing you where your
gap is. The gap only works when you go through the blue lines. Press
left or right to adjust the left edge on one of the objects. Press up or
down to adjust the right edge on one of the objects. Press L1/R1 to
switch to the other object.
----
Done
----
When you're gap is all ready, select this to return to the Park Editor.
Here are a list of all the pieces in Park Editor mode. To change the
set: press L1 to move up a set, or L2 to move down. To change the pieces
in the set: press R1 to move up a piece, or R2 to move down a piece.

To get to the Pre Made Parks, select "Park Editor" from the main menu.
Then once you're on the Park Editor screen, press start, and then select
"Pre-Made Parks" from the menu.
This section of the FAQ will give you infomation on all 50 of the Pre-
Made Parks. It will tell you the size of the park, the theme of the
park, and how many transfers are in the park. It will also tell you the
names and point values of all the transfers in the park. This section
won't tell you how to get the transfers, for the reason that you can
view them yourself when you're viewing the park on the Park Editor
screen. To view the gaps in the level, select a Pre-Made Park, and then
press L1 until you get to the Gap Editor. The shaded areas in light blue
are the gaps. Move the gap icon over the light blue areas to find out
the name of the gap. Press X on the light blue areas to edit the gap.
Well, I hope you find this section helpful. Enjoy the parks :)

Q. I had the demo of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, and they had pieces that
weren't included in the final game, like the high rollin. Does this mean
that there are any secret Park Editor pieces that you can unlock from
completing the game?
A. There weren't actually that many extra pieces. In the demo, you had
the double quarter pipe, and the double rail. But you can build either
of these in the full version by simply putting two single pieces next to
each other. Most of the demo pieces were taken out for the reason that
you can build them yourself in the full version by using a combination
of pieces. As for the high rollin, it was huge! It was very difficult to
do any tricks off of it, which was probably why it was taken out. So to
answer the question: No, there are no hidden pieces in Park Editor mode.
