I. 2. FOREWORD

Welcome to Paul Courtney's definitive FAQ/Walkthrough for the PlayStation
(PSOne) version of TONY HAWK'S PRO SKATER 3. This document contains everything
you will need to complete and get the most out of the game.

To ensure acurate comprehension of the material, this document was written
assuming you do not have any prior knowledge of any other versions of the game.
I have personally confirmed and thourghly tested everything in this document
and guarentee everything is correct to the best of my ability. Note that this
document was written for the North American release of the game. Your version
may be different depending on its region.

This document was written with Courier New 10 point font with 79 characters per
line, and is best viewed at those specifications. This document contains
characters which your computer may not be able to display. If that is so, then
I would strongly recommend switching to a computer that can view them.

Side note:
There were some problems in the last update due to the usage of "special"
characters. To amend that problem, I will temporarily place some "special"
characters below to see if they show up before incorporating them.

II. 1. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

***! ATTENTION !***
ANY REQUEST FOR HELP REGARDING THE PLAYSTATION _2_ VERSION OF THE GAME WILL BE
IGNORED. THIS DOCUMENT WAS _NOT_ WRITTEN FOR THE PLAYSTATION _2_ VERSION!

1. Q) What is the "Revert"?
A) The revert is a new move added in THPS3 that allows characters to sustain
combos after landing off a quarter-pipe or half-pipe or any other "vert"
object. When the skater comes back down to the object from the air,
immediately when they land on the object, they perform a quick 180 degree
turn on their board. If a manual is quickly performed after executing
the revert, combo strings can be sustained.

2. Q) What is the "Beta Version"?
A) The beta version is a pre-release version of a game that is usually for
testing or promotional purposes. The only place I know of where you can
get the beta version is from Ebay, or a place like it.

3. Q) Are there any other secret skaters besides Officer Dick and Wolverine?
A) There are _NO_ other secret characters, and there is _NO_ Darth Maul!

4. Q) Is there a cheat to unlock EVERYTHING?
A) It is highly unlikely. It seems that Neversoft decided to cut back on
the controller codes and thus decided not to include such demeaning codes
as "Unlock Everything". I have listed all known working controller codes
in chapter "X. CODES", section "1. CONTROLLER CODES".

5. Q) Should I buy THPS2 or THPS3?
A) It all depends on how much you like either reverts (#3), or cool secrets,
extras, and in-game moving objects (#2). I would personally recommend 2.
THPS3 is not a great enough improvement over its predecessor, and if you
are planning on getting a 128-bit console, you will definitely want the
version made for those platforms.

6. Q) Are there any problems when playing THPS3 on the PlayStation_2 console?
A) No, depending on which settings you select on the PS2's browser screen.
The only problems appear when you turn the "SMOOTH SHADING" feature on.
In some levels it causes the polygon seams in the sky to become visible.
However, this is not a real problem since it does not obstruct gameplay.

7. Q) How many pieces are in the "Park Editor"?
A) I added up 142. But the two half-pipe sets are just different colors, so
there are actually only 125 _different_ pieces. But it is possible to
combine certain objects to form others. The Park Editor is virtually
identical to the one in TONY HAWK'S PRO SKATER 2.

8. Q) Do you skate in real life?
A) Yes. Well, I used to; I don't really any more. I'm still fairly good,
but I'm not pro or anything. I mainly just skate street terrain.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

TONY HAWK'S PRO SKATER 3 is the third game in the highly successful series. In
case you didn't figure it out already, THPS3 is a skateboarding game where you
can skate as over a dozen skaters including the master, Tony Hawk. The
intuitive controls and extremely addictive gameplay caused the series to become
insanely popular ever since the first game was released to the masses.

III. 2. TRICKS AND SPECIALS

The tricks and their input controls for the regular and special Flips, regular
and special Grabs, regular Grinds, and special Manuals, can be modified on the
skater selection screen. You only start with a specific set of tricks and
specials (each skater is different), but as you progress through Career Mode
you will eventually earn every trick in the game for selection.

--------------------------------- Trick Types ---------------------------------

Regular Tricks
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Regular tricks are consist of average tricks that can be done with or without a
full special meter. Regular tricks consist of every type of trick: Flips,
Grabs, Grinds, Manuals, and Lip.

Special Tricks
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Special tricks consist of fancier tricks that can only be done when your
special meter is full. You can assign up to five special tricks per character.
Special tricks have significantly higher point values than Regular tricks, as
you can see in chapter "III. GAME BASICS", section "4. TRICK VALUES". Special
tricks only consists of: Flips, Grabs, Grinds, and Manuals.

"FS" And "BS"
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
You may notice that some tricks have either a "FS" or a "BS" at the front of
their name when you perform them. "FS" stands for "Front Side", and "BS" means
"Back Side". Which one you get depends on which direction you approach the
object you are performing the trick on. They are equal in value so do not fret
over getting one instead of the other.

------------------------------ Trick Categories -------------------------------

There are two main categories of tricks: aerial tricks and ground tricks. As
both names imply, aerial tricks can only be done in the air, and ground tricks
can only be performed on the ground.

=============
AERIAL TRICKS
=============

Flip Tricks
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Flip tricks consist of tricks where the skater flips or spins the board.
Unlike Grab tricks, Flip tricks cannot be held.

Grab Tricks
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Grab tricks are where the skater holds the skateboard. The longer the move is
held, the more points you will acquire.

=============
GROUND TRICKS
=============

Grind Tricks
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Grinds are where the skater uses a certain part of their board, usually the
axles, to slide or grind across an object. Grinds can only be performed on the
edge of an object.

50-50: When parallel to the object, press the Triangle button.
Bluntslide: Down, Down + Triangle
Boardslide/Lipslide: Rotate the board perpendicular to the object, then press
Triangle.
Crooked/Overcrook: Up + Left or Right + Triangle
NoseBluntSlide: Up, Up + Triangle
Nosegrind: Up + Triangle
Noseslide/Tailslide: Hold Left or Right + Triangle. Rotate the part of the
board that you wish to slide.
Smith/Feeble: Down + Left or Right + Triangle

Lip Tricks
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Lip tricks are stalls on the lip or edge of the top of the vertical portion of
objects such as quarter-pipes. The longer you hold the stall the more points
you will earn, but if you stall too long, the skater will bail.

To perform a lip trick, you must skate _straight_ up to the object's lip,
holding the Triangle button and a direction on the D-pad.

Manuals
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
There are two types of regular manuals you can perform: Manual and Nose
Manual. Both are worth about 100 points. The longer you manual the more
points you accumulate.

_______________________________________________________________________________
III. 3. POINT SYSTEM

---------------------------------- The Math -----------------------------------

Point Multiplier
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
When you perform multiple tricks the game adds the points together as follows:
Trick 1 + Trick 2 = Points
Points multiplied by number of tricks = Score

For example, say you performed a KickFlip (100 points) and then a 360 Flip (500
points) and landed the trick. The game would add 100 + 500 and get 600. Then
it would take the result (600) and multiply it by the amount of tricks (which
would be 2) and get a total of 1,200 points! (100 + 500 = 600 x 2 = 1,200)

When you begin performing many tricks in one combo string, a number will appear
after the tricks showing how much they will be multiplied by.

Point Deduction
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In each session in Career Mode, the point value of a trick will decrease if it
is performed more than once. The more times it is performed the more its value
will decrease. After being performed a certain number of times it will stay a
certain low value.

Below is the number of times a trick has been performed, and the total
percentage of the value you would earn from performing it that many times.
First time: 100%
Second time: 75%
Third time: 50%
Fourth time: 25%
Fifth (and greater): 10%
For this reason, you will need to vary your tricks to maximize your score.

----------------------------------- Factors -----------------------------------

There are many factors which can change your score for better or worse. Below
are the main factors which you can use to maximize your scores.

Riding Positions
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
There are four different positions you can skate with: Regular, Switch, Nollie,
and Fakie. They all have their advantages and disadvantages.

Because the amount a score is multiplied by is not consistant (with the
exception of the Regular position), I will simply list what they are
approximately increased by. All tricks are increased by or around this number.

Regular: Value increase: 0. The skater will ride best in this position
regardless of their amount of stat points.

Switch: Approximate value increase: 20%. Unless your "Switch" stat points are
maxed out to ten, riding Switch will not be as good as riding in the
skater's preferred position (Regular).

Nollie: Approximate value increase: 470%. This position is worse than the
Switch position, but better than the Fakie position.

Fakie: Approximate value increase: 560%. Press the "L2" button while riding
switch to ride in this position. This is the most difficult to ride
with.

So you can get an idea of how much these positions affect the value of a trick,
here is an example:
_Trick_ _Regular_ _Switch_ _Nolli_ _Fakie_
Cannonball 150 pts 180 pts 700 pts 840 pts

Linking
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
The more tricks you have linked together in a combo, the more points you will
acquire. Use Manuals and Reverts to link tricks and keep combo strings going.

Spinning
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
While in the air, either press the "L1" or "R1" button or hold Left or Right on
the D-pad. The number of spins executed while in the air will multiply all
tricks performed in the air by a certain number. Below are the amount of
degrees spun and which multiplier you would earn from them.
180 degrees: 1.5
360 degrees: 2
540 degrees: 3
720 degrees: 4
I believe that every spin above 720 increases the multiplier by one more.

Holding
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
All Grab tricks (regular and special) can be held to accumulate more points.
But be careful, if you land while still holding the trick, you will bail.

Landing
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
There are three types of ways which you can land tricks: "Perfect", nothing, or
"Sketchy". You can only get a score of "Perfect" or "Sketchy" if you have spun
at least 180 degrees during the trick.

"Perfect": To earn the "Perfect" bonus, land completely straight. All tricks
performed in the air will be increased by approximately 50%. The word
"Perfect" will be displayed in green after the trick(s).

Nothing: To earn nothing, either do not spin at least 180 degrees in the air,
or make an average landing (neither "Perfect" nor "Sketchy"). If nothing
is displayed after the tricks, your score will not be affected.

Sketchy: "Sketchy" is when you land a totally unstraight. This landing will
cause all tricks performed in the air to be decreased by 25%. The word
"Sketchy" will be displayed in red after the trick(s).

_______________________________________________________________________________
III. 4. TRICK VALUES

The tricks are listed in descending order of their point values from least to
greatest. Tricks with the same point value are listed in alphabetical order.
Grind tricks are not listed because I have no way of accurately knowing their
values. And, the special Manual point values are approximates.

As stated in the previous chapter, the special tricks and their input controls
can be modified on the skater selection screen. As you progress through Carrer
Mode you will eventually earn every trick in the game for selection.

The stat points listed are the amounts which each skater begins with. You can
increase your stats by finding stat point icons in Career Mode. See chapter
"V. CAREER MODE WALKTHROUGH" for descriptions of their locations.

One of a select few, this "Godfather of Modern Skateboarding," helped define
just what it means to be a professional skateboarder, pioneering this modern
era of technical skating with innovations like his namesake fakie ollie 360 --
the Caballerial. With the energy of a teenager and the sophistication of a man
who has made his own way, Cab is a year-round skater who teaches by example.
He rides every terrain -- street, vert, and parks -- with the skill and passion

------------------------------- Kareem Campbell -------------------------------

Biography
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
An ideal combination of both East and West coast sensibilities, Kareem Campbell
is not a bridge joining an equal-but-opposing geo-cultural issue, he's just an
authentic skater. Born and raised in real cities, his skate-life come-up led
Kareem to develop an urban foundation to his skateboarding. Not by design, but
rather out of necessity, his metro-style is a well-honed version of what the
rest of the world's street dwellers hope to someday attain: smart, real, and
smoothed out -- without the R&B.

-------------------------------- Rune Glifberg --------------------------------

Biography
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
An O.G. Dane enduring the climes of sunny So.Cal, Rune Glifberg's been known to
phone home using ubiquitous digital technology. His extra-terrestrial power-
style has led him to the podium of many a vert contest, but he's surprisingly
well versed in all of the undisciplined disciplines of modern skating -- parks,
pools, streets, and, of course, whatever. Pinching bits and pieces of
experience from all terrain has made Rune one of the most versatile skaters of
the day. Rune has shown that street, vert, or otherwise, it is possible to be
at home no matter where one may be in the world.

The clean-bean ideal of an Everyskater, Eric Koston has quietly become
skateboarding's most influential front-row cheerleader for the Los Angeles
Lakers. Tirelessly supporting his home team to a dominating NBA Championship
two-peat, Eric has also managed to evolve his smooth, consistent, and
innovative skateboard skills to the point that young fans everywhere are
abandoning their dreams of crossovers and three pointers in hopes of someday
nailing fifteen-stair backside noseblunt slides, "Just like Koston."

Biography
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Bucky Lasek is an excitable twenty-something who, once emerging from the long
shadow cast by his friend and mentor Tony Hawk, proceeded to destroy any sitcom
sidekick preconceptions by cranking out his own style of beyond-the-boundaries
vert skating. Bucky caries along with him a weighty satchel of trickiness that
includes above-the-lip flips and twists and a laundry list of tech coping
sorcery.

Biography
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Rodney Mullen birthed today's street tech. Period. An icon among idols, he's
the man who freestyled many of the moves today's freshest pros use as a
foundation for their own progressive skating. Flat ground ollies, 360 flips,
and ollie impossibles were all made manifest by the critical thought and
problem solving of this tenured Prof. of skateboard conceptualism.

With a nod to the past manifested in Muska Style, be it his deck designs or his

renaissance professional skateboarders. This customized sled shredder is known
not only for his breathtaking leaps and bounds on board, but his other-level self
promotion -- demoning, music making, and palm pressing like the tireless
public figure he's built himself into. Stiff, Muska has and always will be

Biography
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Bringing a precise lank and stomp to the sometimes flailing world of big-drop
street skating, Andrew Reynolds' "make it or break" it tendencies are powered
by his willingness to throw his six-foot frame from heights that make limping
crybabies out of lesser men. Powered by invisible springs and kept upright
with hidden gyroscopes, Reynolds represents skateboarding's ultimate fighting
machine -- declassified and unleashed on the planet in hopes of keeping our
streets free of ticky-tack mediocrity.

-------------------------------- Geoff Rowley ---------------------------------

Biography
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
An explosion of over-the-top activity has elevated Geoff Rowley from excellent
skater to skateboarding's par excellence. Consistently operating above the
also-rans in the non-competitive competition that defines real skateboarding,
this re-located Brit has paid his fair share of dues whilst unceremoniously
being dubbed the official holder of the title, King Assassin of Unsuspecting
Rails and Double Sets. And that's official.

------------------------------- Elissa Steamer --------------------------------

Biography
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Truly a skater's skater, Elissa Steamer hasn't made her name in professional
skateboaring as a flag waving "first female," but as a no-nonsense skater with
a sick desire to learn, progress, and rise above even her own preconceptions of
what can be done on-board. Taking her lumps and paying her dues along with the
rest of the pro field, she's altered the testosterone-soaked landscape of
skateboarding by refusing to lower herself to the level of gender debates and
instead choosing to just shut up and skate.

Biography
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Coming up quick on fifteen years of serious skateboarding, Jamie Thomas still
wakes up everyday thinking, living, and breathing his leap-of-faith style
skating -- and shows no sign of easing up any time soon. With a drive strong
enough to motivate his mind over what really matters, Thomas can often be found
speeding through immense handrail and gap situations leaving in his wake the
shredded conceptions of where skateboarding can be shoved for the sake of "How

Biography
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Bam Margera is both lightning bolt and lightning rod -- snapping necks with his
unrestrained Pennsylvania-grown skate style, and harnessing the energy of his
own massive discharge by video taping literally every waking moment of his
practical-joker lifestyle. For skaters, he's a hilariously talented breath of
fresh air in the form of seriously non-serious, and for the nest of the planet
who know him simply as "The jackass who skates," he's the bad example that
everyone wants to follow. Perfectly shocking.

V. CAREER MODE WALKTHROUGH
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Throughout the walkthrough I will use the directions North
"North", "West", "East", and "South". North is always ^
the direction that the skater is facing when you first West< >East
begin the level. I hope this clears up any confusion. v
South
You must attain a certain score in each competition level
(Rio De Janeiro, Skater Island, and Tokyo) to win a medal. Look into chapter
"III. GAME BASICS" to see how to maximize your scores.

S. From the starting point, head straight down the center roll-in and launch
over the middle of the giant half-pipe to reach the "S".
K. Located in the center of the level is a metal press machine. The "K" is on
the north end of the press.
A. In the north area of the level there is a vat of yellow liquid. To the west
of the vat is a long quarter-pipe parallel to the west wall. The "A" is on
the end of the quarter-pipe closest to the vat.
T. Near the back of the level is a vat of yellow liquid. Between the two rails
east of the vat is the "T".
E. In the middle of the east wall of the level there is a water-filled pool.
On the bottom of the north side of the pool is a quarter-pipe connected to
the pool ledge. The "E" is directly above the quarter-pipe.

Valves Unjammed
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
1. From the starting point, head down the roll-in on the east wall. At the
bottom of the roll-in there is a blinking red box on the east wall. Just
run into it to unjam it.
2. At the beginning of the level, head down the roll-in on the west wall. At
the bottom of the roll-in, on the west wall, is the valve.
3. At the base of a walkway on the west wall on the north side of the level is
the valve.
4. On the east wall on the north side of the level, there is a walkway along
the wall. The valve is on the wall at the base of the walkway.
5. In the center of the level on the east wall is a pool with water. On the
wall directly east of the pool is the valve. Jump or wallride to reach it.

Activate Press
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the center of the level there is a press machine. Attached to the east side
of it is a red flashing switch. Simply run into the switch to earn the goal.

Cannonball Over The Halfpipe
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
From the beginning of the level, head straight down the center roll-in. Just
north of the roll-in is a giant half-pipe. Using the speed built up on the
roll-in, launch over the half-pipe and perform a Cannonball (Right + Circle).

Grind The Control Booth
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Near the north side of the level there is a steaming vat of yellow liquid. On
the ground level to the top of the vat is a yellow pathway that leads straight
into a blue booth wedged between two long quarter-pipes. Grind over the edge
of the booth (the part lined up with to the lips of the quarter-pipes) to
accomplish the goal.

Find The Secret Tape
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
There are two main ways to get this:
• From the starting point, launch onto the east catwalk and ride to the end of
it. Turn west and head up to the room with the two glass walls. Grind the
rail on the side of the room to build up speed, and jump into a grind on the
yellow air duct to the north. On the air duct, carefully jump out of the
grind so you can skate around on top of the duct. Skate north to the middle
section to reach the secret tape.
• Ride over to the north wall of the level and get atop the second story.
(Wallride up and grind the rails on either wall to reach it). On the second
story, build up some speed on the quarter-pipes then launch off the kicker
ramp to either suspended platforms to the south. Launch off either of the
platforms to the rail or air duct to the south to reach the secret tape.

Stat Points
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
1. From the starting point, wallride or launch up to a grind on the rail on the
east wall. The stat point is on the rail.
2. At the beginning of the level, launch onto the west catwalk. Ride to the
end to obtain the stat point in the corner.
3. On the north wall of the level, under the second story, there is a room with
a front wall of glass. The stat point is in front of the door to the room.
4. On the north wall of the level there is a second story. On the west area of
the ledge on the second story is the stat point. Wallride up to and grind
the rails on either wall to reach the higher area.
5. In the center of the level is a metal press machine. Use the ramps formed
on either side of the press to launch over it. The stat point is hovering
above the middle of it. (If you activate the press first, it is easier to
reach it.)

Deck
¯¯¯¯
At the beginning of the level, launch onto the east catwalk. Follow the
catwalk to the very end and turn west, heading up. It will lead up to a room
with two glass walls. Spinning in the center of the room is the deck. Simply
run into it and it will be obtained.

S. At the starting point, head straight north, into the giant building.
Outside the north exit of the building is the "S".
K. Heading straight from the starting point will eventually lead you to a small
half-pipe with a low wall behind it. The "K" is on top of the wall.
A. In the northeast area of the level there is a small carwash building. The
"A" is inside of the carwash.
T. On the north wall of the level there is a room full of light fixtures. To
the east of the room is a bent pole next to a long quarter-pipe. The "T" is
located on the pole.
E. At the beginning of the level, head down the rail by the west wall. The "E"
is on the end of the rail.

Transformers Shutdown
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
1. From the starting point, turn west, and head over to the wall. The
transformer is on the wall, by the rails. Just run into it to shut it down.
2. In the northeast area of the level there is a small carwash building. On
the wall east of the carwash is the transformer.
3. On the north wall of the level there is a room full of light fixtures. Near
the entrance to the room, on the west wall, is the transformer.
4. Head straight from the starting point, but instead of entering the giant
building, turn east. Down the path, in the center of the wall to the right,
is the transformer.
5. In the southeast corner of the level there is a small Nokia building with a
quarter-pipe on either side of the entrance. The transformer is on the wall
adjacent to the north quarter-pipe.

Grind The Electric Rail
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the north wall of the level there is a room full of light fixtures.
Wallride up the east wall of the room to a grind on the rail on the wall.
Grind the rail out to the south to reach sparking wire. Grind across the
sparking wire to earn the goal.

Elevator Grind
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the southeast corner of the level there is a small Nokia building. Enter
the building by crashing through the glass, then jump into the button on the
north wall to open the elevator on the opposite wall. Enter the elevator to be
taken to the roof of the building. From the roof, grind completely down the
long rail attached to the corner of the building. Land out of the grind
without bailing to complete the goal.

Kickflip Over Elevator Lobby
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the southeast corner of the level there is a little Nokia building with a
quarter-pipe on either side of the entrance. Build up some speed, and use
either quarter-pipe to transfer completely over the Nokia building. Perform a
kickflip while transferring over it to earn the goal.

Find The Secret Tape
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
From the starting point, grind up the rail to the top of the giant building in
front of you. On the roof of the building, jump north into a grind on the rail
sticking out of the highway to reach the highway. Once up there, use the
wooden kicker ramp to launch over to the ledge facing the kicker. Near the
center of the ledge there is a big sign sticking out of the side of the
building. Ride up the sign and grind the rail attached to it to reach the
secret tape.

Stat Points
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
1. On the west wall of the level, there is a quarter-pipe in a recess of a
building. The stat point is hovering above the quarter-pipe.
2. From the starting point, grind up the long rail to the top of the giant
building in front of you. On the roof of the building, jump into a grind on
the rail sticking out of the highway to the north to reach the stat point.
3. On the north wall of the level there is a room full of light fixtures.
Wallride up the west wall to a grind on the rail on the wall. Grind the
rail out south to grab the stat point.
4. In the southeast corner of the level there is a small Nokia building.
Attached to the north end of the building is a rail perpendicular to a
transformer. Wallride up to a grind on the rail to reach the stat point.
5. In the southeast corner of the level there is a small Nokia building. North
of the building is a solo quarter-pipe with a rail leading up to the Nokia
building. Near the top of the rail is the stat point.

Deck
¯¯¯¯
From the starting point, head through the giant building and out to the street.
Follow the street to the east until it comes to an intersection. On the corner
of the north side of the street is a small wooden kicker ramp. Use it to
launch up to either telephone wire running parallel to it. Grind the wire
south to the end, and jump off to the alcove in the corner of the wall. Using

V. 5. AIRPORT

It's a late night in the airport and it appears as though some unlucky
travelers have lost their luggage. Instead of calling the airline, they just
asked you to check it out. Remember, you are going there to find the lost
bags, not to exploit the awesome light grinds and escalator runs. I'm serious,
dude, don't screw around and grind the plane or hit any of those sweet ramps in
the terminal. Oh, what's the use, have fun and don't forget, only two carry-on
items per person.

Nosebluntslide The Airport Sign
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the bottom of the second main escalator there is a corridor with a quarter-
pipe on either wall of it. Use the west quarter-pipe to transfer up to the
blue airport sign to the north. Perform a NoseBluntSide (Up, Up + Triangle)
across the sign, and land without bailing to earn the goal.

Grind The Plane
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
North of the first main escalator, in the middle of the room, there are two
thin quarter-pipes connected at the top with a rail. Launch up either quarter-
pipe into a grind on the plane above. Land the grind off the plane without
bailing to earn the goal.

Find The Secret Tape
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

S. A little ways north of the starting point there are two wooden kicker ramps
facing each other. The "S" is floating in the air between them.
K. In the northeast corner of the level there is a parking lot. Floating
directly north of the fence on the south wall of it parking lot, is the "K".
A. On the east side of level there are a ton of quarter-pipes and a large roll-
in in the center of the wall. The "A" is on the top of the roll-in.
Another quicker way to reach it is to simply fall out of the level boundary
(fall into the snow).
T. In the southeast corner of the level there are several dark dilapidated
buildings. On the east wall there is a quarter-pipe running into one of the
buildings. Follow the quarter-pipe into the building to break into it. The
"T" is above the pit, on the inside of the building.
E. In the northeast corner of the level there is a parking lot. South of the
parking lot is a large wide ramp. The "E" is above the fence, north of the
ramp.

Totem Poles
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
1. From the starting point, turn around and head back up the ramp. Follow the
train tracks to reach a giant tree to the left. The totem pole is near the
base of that tree.
2. In the southeast corner of the level, by the dark dilapidated buildings, is
the totem pole.
3. In the northeast corner of the level there is a parking lot. At the very
bottom of the parking lot is the totem pole.
4. From the starting point, turn around and head back up the ramp. Follow the
train tracks until you reach the edge of the building. Drop off the
building, turn right, and head for the snow-covered wall to find the totem
pole.
5. At the beginning of the level, jump over the fence to the right. The totem
pole is in plain view, by the large curved quarter-pipe.

Blow Up The Tree
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the beginning of the level, turn around and head back up the ramp. On the
east train tracks, on the building, is a switch. Simply run into the switch to
activate an explosion which will cause the giant tree directly east of the
train tracks to fall over.

Nosegrind Over The Tree
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Turn around from the starting point and head back up the ramp. On the east
train tracks, on the building, is a switch. Run into the switch to activate an
explosion which will cause the giant tree directly east of the train tracks to
fall over. After the tree has fallen, perform a Nosegrind (Up + Triangle)
completely across the trunk of the tree until you get the "The Tree" gap. Land
the grind off the tree without bailing to complete the goal.

Ollie Over The Pool
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the beginning of the level, jump over the fence to the right. Head straight
east, avoiding the pools, to eventually reach a pool with dark skid marks
leading into it. Following the path of the skid marks, simply jump over the
pool, to the other side, to get the goal. Contrary to what the objective
requests, it does not matter if you perform a trick other than an ollie. You
may need to perform a Boneless (Up, Up + "X" button) to make it.

Find The Secret Tape
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the southwest corner of the level there is a half-pipe on top of a building.
Build up some speed on the half-pipe and transfer up to the half-pipe west of
the one on the building, in the corner of the mountain. On the higher snowy
half-pipe, grind the north lip of it out to the east and jump over into a grind
on the pole leading out of the mountain, by the left. On the end of the pole
is the secret tape.

Stat Points

1. A little ways north of the starting point, on the west side of the low wall
to the west, there is a tall sign with two wires coming down either side of
it. Use either wire to grind up to the top of the sign, to reach the stat
point. You may need to perform several tricks on the wire to build up
enough speed to reach it.
2. On the west wall of level there are a series of buildings. On the north end
of the roof of the second story on the brown building north of the white
building, is the stat point.
3. In the southeast corner of the level there are several dark dilapidated
buildings. On the east wall there is a quarter-pipe running into one of the
buildings. East of that quarter-pipe is a board leading off top of one of
the buildings to a pillar. Use the quarter-pipe to launch up to the board.
The stat point is on the north end of the board.
4. At the starting point, jump over the fence to the right, and turn left.

VI. 2. GAP WALKTHROUGH

Throughout the walkthrough I will use the directions North
"North", "West", "East", and "South". North is always ^
the direction that the skater is facing when you first West< >East
begin the level. I hope this clears up any confusion. v
South
Note that:
• Career Mode is NOT the only mode in which you can earn gaps. I would
recommend using the "Free Skate" mode while trying accomplish gaps.
• There are many various ways to attain certain gaps, but I have tried to only
describe the easiest way to accomplish them.

----------------------------------- Foundry -----------------------------------

========
AIR GAPS
========

Second Story Air
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Near the back of the level there is a vat of molten metal with two quarter-
pipes on either side of it. Transfer from one quarter-pipe, over the vat, to
the other quarter-pipe, to earn the gap.

Channel Surfin
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the bottom of the giant roll-ins at the starting point there are two
quarter-pipes. Transfer from one quarter-pipe to the other to earn the gap.

Death Gap West
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the beginning of the level, use the kicker ramp west of the center roll-in
to launch onto the west side of the catwalk.

Bubblin Brew
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Near the back of the level there is a vat of molten metal. Simply jump over
the top of the vat to earn the gap.

Over The Flat
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the north end of the level, jump over and clear the quarter-pipe and yellow
rail that go along the level wall. You can either use the quarter-pipe to
launch over the yellow rail, or you can jump over the yellow rail and down the
quarter-pipe.

Over The Halfpipe
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Using the kicker ramps on the north and south ends of the giant half-pipe in
the middle of the level, launch completely over the half-pipe. You may need to
build up some speed to accomplish it.

Southside Air
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the beginning of the level, turn around and use the two quarter-pipes to
transfer over the recess in the center of the tower structure.

Wedge Gap
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Jump down either ramp leading up to the pool with water on the east side of the
level. You must completely clear the ramp to earn the gap.

Death Gap East
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the beginning of the level, use the kicker ramp east of the center roll-in
to launch onto the east side of the catwalk.

High To Low
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the north wall of the level is a walkway that goes around the level walls.
Jump from the walkway, over the yellow handrail, and down to the flat area that
is level with the top of the vat of molten metal, to earn the gap.

Perfect Gap
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the middle of the north wall of the level there is a set of steps leading up
to a door. Simply jump over the steps to earn the gap.

Over The Hard Way
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the beginning of the level, head straight down the middle roll-in and launch
over the giant half-pipe. Land on either of the raised pieces of half-pipe on
the ends of the north side of it to earn the gap.

walkway with two yellow handrails. Use the slope at the beginning of the
walkway to launch onto the smaller walkway adjacent to it.

Clear The Roller
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the beginning of the level, jump down and completely clear any one of the
three giant roll-ins to earn the gap.

What Are You Doing Here
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the second story on the north wall of the level, jump into the alcove in the
northwest corner to earn the gap. You can either launch from the quarter-pipe

==========
GRIND GAPS
==========

Knock The Bucket
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Near the back of the level there is a vat of yellow liquid. On the ground
level to the vat is a yellow walkway that leads straight to a blue control
booth. Grind over the edge of the booth to earn the gap.

Pipe-Hoppin' Grinder
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Up on the yellow air ducts by the secret tape (read the Career Mode walkthrough
if you do not know where it is), grind either one of the two gray rails
parallel to the air duct. But instead of following the rail, jump over the gap
where the rail bends, so you head straight to the next rail. Land into a grind
on that rail to earn the gap.

Grind The Gap
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the catwalk high above the level, grind the southern-most handrail that is
also parallel to the north and south level walls.

Along The Handrail
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Completely grind across either yellow handrail on the walkway directly west of
the press machine in the middle of the level.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Simply grind across the west edge of the press machine in the middle of the
level to earn the gap.

over the vat, and land in a grind on the other quarter-pipe to earn the gap.

End To End
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the north wall of the level, on the second story, grind completely across
the long "U" shaped quarter-pipe, from one end to the other.

level walls. Grind completely around the rail to earn the gap.

To The D-Tank
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

On the catwalk high above the level, grind either of the inner handrails on the
south end of the catwalk, around the curve.

Proball
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the beginning of the level, wallride up to a grind on the rail on the east
wall. Wallride and grind past two more rails and you will reach a yellow air
duct running perpendicular to you, into the wall. Wallride and jump over it,
landing into a grind on the rail below, to earn the gap.

Saved By The Grind
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Up on the yellow air ducts by the secret tape, grind either one of the two gray
rails parallel to the air duct. But instead of following the rail, jump down
in the gap where the rail bends. Land the grind off in rail, into another
grind on the edge of the press machine below. Hold the grind on the press to
earn the gap.

World According To Gap
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the west side catwalk high above the level, grind the outer handrail,
heading north. When you come to the end of the rail, jump straight off and
land in a grind on the handrail below.

We Work Hard
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the beginning of the level, wallride up to a grind on the rail on the east
wall. Grind across that rail to earn the gap.

Steppin' Up
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

a grind on the lip of it, to a grind on the raised piece on either end.

Comby Bear Style
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

the pool, on the east wall, is a rail. Grind the rail and drop down into a
grind on the edge of the pool to earn the gap.

Nice
¯¯¯¯
On the north wall of the level, on the edge of the second story, there is a
long kicker ramp. Grind the kicker ramp and drop down into a grind on the
yellow handrail below to earn the gap. It works best on the east side.

Gettin' Over
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the west side of the catwalk high above the level, grind the outer handrail
and jump over to a grind on the rails on the west wall to earn the gap.

Using the press machine in the center of the level, launch into a grind on any
object surrounding the pool with water on the east wall.

Drop And Grind
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the east side of the catwalk high above the level, grind the outer handrail,
heading north. At the end of it, fall off and land in a grind on the edge of
the pool with water or the yellow handrail connected to the pool.

Tight!
¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the beginning of the level, wallride up to a grind on the rail on the east
wall. Jump from a grind on that rail to a grind on the outer catwalk handrail
to earn the gap.

Shaba Style
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the starting point, wallride up to a grind on the rail on the east wall.
Follow that rail and the two north of it to reach a yellow air duct. Jump from
a grind on the rail to a grind on the air duct to earn the gap.

Booya Gramma... Booya
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the beginning of the level, wallride up to a grind on the rail on the east
wall. Follow that rail and grind up to the two rails north of it. At the end
of the third rail, drop down into a grind on the rail beneath you. Then
wallride up to a grind on the quarter-pipe that curves into the wall. Jump
from a grind on the quarter-pipe to a grind on the edge of the long kicker
ramp. Grind the kicker to the end, and then jump into a grind on the rail on
the west wall. From there, jump to and grind the rail above the tanks. Grind
the two rails south of the tanks, to complete the run and earn the gap. You
MUST grind everything in one run, or you will not get credit for the gap.

From the starting point, grind up the rail to the top of the giant building in
front of you. On the roof of the building, jump into a grind on the rail
sticking out of the highway to the north, to reach the highway. Once up there,
use the wooden kicker ramp to launch up to the ledge of the buildings on the
west wall. In the middle of the ledge there is a sign protruding out of the
wall; and, in the middle of the sign there is a hole. Jump from the ledge to
the hole in the sign to earn the gap. You may need to perform a Boneless (Up,
Up, "X" button) to make it.

==========
GRIND GAPS
==========

Hops

In the center of the level there is a large square cement area with various
objects. Surrounding the area is a black street. On the southeast corner of
the street is a little wooden kicker ramp. Use the kicker to launch up to and
grind either telephone wires running parallel to the kicker.

It Begins
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the north wall, in the northeast corner of the level, there are two long
quarter-pipes lined up. Grind from one to the other to earn the gap.

Arise!
¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the north wall of the level there is a room full of light fixtures. To the
east of the room is a bent pole next to a long quarter-pipe. Grind up the pole
to reach the ledge on the side of the building. Grind from the ledge to the
light fixture that goes over the entrance to earn the gap.

Large
¯¯¯¯¯
On the north wall of the level there is a room full of light fixtures. To the
east of the room is a bent pole next to a long quarter-pipe. Grind up the pole
to reach the ledge on the side of the building. From the ledge, grind across
the light fixture above the entrance of the room, heading west. When it comes
to the end, drop off and land in a grind on the steps below. Continue the
grind on the steps to earn the gap.

Be Humble
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Link gaps "It Begins" with " Arise!" and "Large" in a single run, and continue
grinding the steps after "Large". Jump from the steps into a grind on the
little planter south of the steps. Then quickly jump to the following planter
to earn the gap. You MUST complete this all in one run to get the gap.

Elevator Grind!!
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the southeast corner of the level there is a little Nokia building. Enter
the building by crashing through the glass, then jump into the button on the
north wall to open the elevator on the opposite wall. Enter the elevator to be
taken to the roof of the building. From the roof, grind completely down the
long rail attached to the corner of the building.

Dubba Jump
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the east wall, in the southeast corner of the level, there are three
planters. Grind completely across all three planters in one run.

Epic Jump
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the southeast corner of the level there is a little Nokia building.
Directly east of the building there is a low quarter-pipe with a pink rail
above it. Build up some speed, grind across it, and jump north into a grind on
the pink rail divided by the walkway.

Nice Start
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the beginning of the level, grind down the curb that is directly in front of
you. At the end of the curb, jump off into a grind on the pink rail on the
west wall of the inside of the giant building.

Good Thinking
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the north wall of the level there is a room full of light fixtures.
Wallride up to a grind on the rail on the east wall, heading out to the south.
The rail will lead onto a sparking wire. Grind across the sparking wire to
cause an earthquake to crack a wave in the street to the east. Use the
destroyed street to launch up into a grind on the telephone wires to earn the
gap.

Two Ways
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the beginning of the level, grind down the middle curb. At the end of the
curb, jump off into a grind on the first pink rail that is on the east wall of
the inside of the giant building.

One Giant Leap
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the southeast corner of the level there is a small Nokia building with a
quarter-pipe on either side of the entrance. Use the south quarter-pipe to
launch up to the platform above it. Grind the edge of the platform and down
the wire to earn the gap.

Around And Down
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the southeast corner of the level there is a small Nokia building with a
quarter-pipe on either side of the entrance. Using the north quarter-pipe,
launch up to and grind the platform above it. Grind from the platform to the
wire connected to it to earn the gap.

Grinding Down The Highway
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
From the starting point, grind up the rail to the top of the giant building in
front of you. On the roof of the building, jump into a grind on the rail
sticking out of the highway to the north, to reach the highway. At the
beginning of the highway, grind down the south cement barrier. Stay on the
south barrier until you reach the last section of road. Then, jump to the left
and grind the left barrier at the end.

Moving Up!
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the north wall of the level there is a room full of light fixtures.
Wallride up either wall adjacent to the entrance, into a grind on the rail on
the wall. From the bottom rail, wallride up into a grind on the rail above it
to earn the gap.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the center of the level there are two giant loops. On the west loop, grind
over the top of it using the neon pink coping.

Scabby
¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the center of the level there are two giant loops. On the east loop, grind
over the top of it using the neon pink coping.

You Got Gap
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On both the east and west sides of the catwalk that goes around the center of
the level, there are ramps leading up to it. Jump from a grind on the inner
rail of the catwalk to a grind on the outer rail of a ramp or vice versa.

Tight
¯¯¯¯¯
Grind completely around the quarter-pipe in the southeast corner of the level.

Booya-Tight
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the north wall of the level there are two giant above ground bowls.
Directly south of the bowls, between them, is a ramp. Grind any one of the
neon rails on the ramp, and jump to and grind the lip where the two bowls
connect. From there, jump up to a grind on the neon rail on the north wall.
About halfway across the wall you will get the gap.

Keep It Going
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the southwest corner of the level is a quarter-pipe that bends around the
corner. Grind completely around it, and up the string of lights to the ledge
north of the quarter-pipe. Continue the grind to the first bend in the ledge.

Gap For Your Effort
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
High on the west wall of the level there is a deep alcove with giant quarter-
pipes. Grind completely across the ledge of the alcove to earn the gap.

Ape Grind
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the middle of the east side of the level there are a few sets of rails.
Perform a grind on one bent rail to the other to earn the gap.

===========
MANUAL GAPS
===========

Through The Hoops
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the center of the level there are two giant hoops. Starting from the east
loop, perform a manual and ride on the ground, passing underneath both of them.

==========
OTHER GAPS
==========

Melissa's Gap
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the east wall, in the northeast corner of the level, there are two big signs
next to each other--an elephant's head and an Asian woman's face. Perform a
wallride over the sign of the woman's face to earn the gap.

That's What I'm Saying'
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the center of the east wall of the level there is a giant red sign adjacent
to a platform above a wall of breakable glass. Perform a wallride over more
than half of the sign to earn the gap.

Kamikaze
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the center of the level there are two giant loops. Completely ride through
either of them to earn the gap.

20 Stair Set
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
From the walkway on the ledge of the west wall, west of the fourth set of
trees, jump down and clear the north set of stairs to earn the gap.

True Skater
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
South of the river there are a line of quarter-pipes along the west wall.
Using the quarter-pipes, transfer over the river, to the other side to earn the
gap.

McCrank It
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
At the beginning of the level, jump down the set of stairs leading up to the
giant Jesus statue. Completely clear the stairs to earn the gap.

16 Stair Set
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
From the walkway on the ledge of the west wall, west of the fourth set of
trees, jump down and clear the south set of stairs to earn the gap.

==========
GRIND GAPS
==========

Just Like Real Life
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
In the northern-most area of the level, across the river, there are four gray
curved rails that form the edges of a square. Grind across all four of the
rails one run, without touching the ground, to earn the gap. Note that this
can only be accomplished with just the right amount of speed.

Peace Be Still
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Before the third set of trees there is a walkway on the west wall that starts
from the ground. On the walkway, wallride up to a grind on the edge of the
higher walkway adjacent to it. On the north end of the higher walkway is a
rail that goes off to the east level wall. Grind across that rail to reach an
isolated platform high on the east wall. Using the kicker ramp on the
platform, launch straight north, into a grind on the rail protruding out of a
building. When you get in a grind on the rail in the building, simply hold
down the grind button to be led into the gap. (You will fall off the rail in
the building, into a grind on two more rails. At the end of those rails you
will get the gap.)

Obvious Yet Difficult
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Adjacent to the north end of the second stretch of quarter-pipe on the west
wall, there is a walkway that starts from the ground. Grind across the edge of
the walkway, heading north, and jump straight off of the rail. Land in a grind
on the edge of the walkway north of the first one, and continue this process on
the next two walkways to reach a long solitary rail. Hold the grind to the end
of the rail to earn the gap.

Game Tips
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
• Use risers to raise the floor, then place other pieces on top of them.
• Link two objects with the gap tool to add a gap bonus to your level.

Set Theme
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Cathedral : Gothic church with some crazy colors. The risers sort-of
blend in with the floor, so look out.
Industrial : Just like in THPS2; most of the objects have a metal look.
Outdoor : Just like in THPS2; self explanatory.
S-Mart : Shopping mart. Sort of like the school theme in THPS2.

VII. 2. PRE-MADE PARKS

------------------------------ Recommended Parks ------------------------------

So you do not have to waste your time playing through all of the pre-made parks
to find one that suits your needs, I have compiled a list of parks good for
some of the most common uses.

Selection
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Tag : If the person NOT "it" could stand a chance against the "it"
person, than the level was placed under this.
Horse : Levels with a good selection of different and creative runs were
placed under this category.
Free Skate: These were determined if the level was actually fun to skate and
had a creative layout.

VIII. 1. 2-PLAYER MODE

Graffiti
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Set your own time limit then push the limits in a split-screen race to see who
can nail the most tricks. Obstacles are "Tagged" with your color by tricking
off them. Try to steal your friend's tags by pulling better tricks off the
same object. He or she who tags the most objects wins.

Trick Attack
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
A total free-for-all to see who can skate the best lines and rack up the most
points. You can run into opponents and rub their little faces into the
terrain, and this time you can Trick Attack longer with the game's new variable
time limits.

Horse
¯¯¯¯¯
How to you spell defeat? "H.O.R.S.E" (or the word of your choice -- keep it
respectable) in this one-on-one best trick contest. Nail a trick, then watch
as your opponent tries to beat it. Your opponent must match or beat your
score. If not, he or she gets a letter. First one to get all the letter tastes
defeat.

Tag
¯¯¯
You don't want to be "It" in this game where you tag other players. When you
are, you have to bust tricks to gradually cripple your opponent's stats until
he or she is a sitting duck. When "It," you're on the timer. If the timer
hits zero, you lose.

IX. 1. SECRET AREAS

------------------------------- Level Changers --------------------------------

Los Angeles
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the north wall of the level there is a room full of light fixtures.
Wallride up the east wall of the room to a grind on the rail on the wall.
Grind the rail out to the south to reach sparking wire. Grind across the
sparking wire and an earthquake will crack a wave in the street to the east.

Rio De Janeiro
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
By the center of the east wall of the level there is a wooden spectator stand.
Simply run into the ladder underneath the stand, and in a few seconds the stand
will come crashing down to form a new object.

-------------------------------- Secret Areas ---------------------------------

Tokyo
¯¯¯¯¯
Build up a lot of speed and ride over to one of the quarter-pipes in the middle
of the level. Launch up the ones with the big arrows to reach a trippy half-
pipe that has a base of waving colors.

_______________________________________________________________________________
IX. 2. UNLOCKABLES

----------------------------------- Levels ------------------------------------

Downhill
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
To unlock the Downhill level, simply earn 40/50 level goals and two gold
medals. Downhill is a lot like the Phoenix Downhill Jam level of THPS1, but
has the theme of Rio de Janeiro at nighttime.

--------------------------------- Characters ----------------------------------

Officer Dick
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out career mode with one character. Officer Dick is an obese police
officer in a swat-team uniform. His size and gear does not hinder his
performance though.

Wolverine
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Do every gap in every level except Downhill. Wolverine is the famous mutant
with the metal claws from Marvel's "X-Men" comics.

----------------------------------- Cheats ------------------------------------

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out career mode with two characters. This cheat allows you to restart in
different areas.

Kid Mode
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out career mode with three characters. Shrinks your skater to the size of
a kid, with the exception of Wolverine, and makes it almost impossible to bail
on air tricks.

Perfect Balance
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out career mode with four characters. You cannot bail on rails or
manuals.

Always Special
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out career mode with five characters. Your special meter is always full.

Stud Mode
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out career mode with six characters. Puts all of your stats at 10.

Weight
¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out career mode with seven characters. Allows you to change the weight of
characters.

Wireframe Mode
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out career mode with eight characters. You can only see the polygon
frames or "wires".

Slow-Nic
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out career mode with nine characters. Slows the time down when you are in
the air. This is great for easing difficult air tricks.

Big Head
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out career mode with ten characters. Gives all the characters big heads,
with the exception of Wolverine.

Sim Mode
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out career mode with eleven characters. Makes jump moves lower and spins
faster.

Smooth Shading
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out career mode with twelve characters. Removes the shading on the
polygons, thus giving everything a smooth look.

Super Revert
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out career mode with thirteen characters. Prevents the revert from
slowing characters.

Moon Physics
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out career mode with fourteen characters. Lowers the gravity level, thus
causing bigger jumps and air tricks.

Disco Mode
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out the career mode with Officer Dick. Certain objects will flash with
different bright colors.

Level Flip
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Wipe out career mode with Wolverine. Flips the levels around and switches the
left/right controls.

_______________________________________________________________________________
IX. 3. GLITCHES

Wrong Gravity
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
On the second story on the north wall of the level, jump into the alcove in the
northwest corner to earn the gap. You can either launch from the quarter-pipe
or perform a wallride to reach it. In the alcove, wallride up the north wall,
heading to the east. You will then be able to ride around on the wall!
This also works on some other walls in other levels!

**MORE COMING SOON**
If you find any glitches, send them in! You will get credit!
