=============================================================================
II) About Me And Why I wrote this FAQ
=============================================================================

My Name is Elwell aka [OveR-LorD], i am a huge FPS (First Person Shooter)
fan. This Is my first solo public FAQ and i hope it fits into what everyone
wants. I know there is the single player side to this game but people already
have walkthroughs and official guides and so on, so here is my Multiplayer
Liuetenant FAQ.

For those of you who play RTCW (Return To Castle Wolfenstein) online you may
recognise me as the player "OveR-LorD".
I have made this FAQ for the following reasons
* No one else has.
* I wish i had one when i started
* I got bored at home so what better way to spend my day exept playing
this game.

I am currently writing about 7 other FAQs which i am hoping to post on
www.gameFAQs.com and www.NeoSeeker.com very soon, these FAQs include
"Aliens Versus Predator" and "Gunman Chronicles" and many more. I do most of
my FAQs with the help of other people because it makes life so much easier
so if you want to help me or offer advice to me on an FAQ please send me
your ideas and i will try and get back to you and of course credit will be
given where credit is due.

=============================================================================
III) Overview To "Return To Castle Wolfenstein"
=============================================================================

Return to Castle Wolfenstein is the sequal to the big hit classic
"Wolfenstein" which most people will know as the first ever first person
shooter, and so you should the game was (To Put It simply) Brilliant.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein however has been made much later on and i will
list the changes because of that.
* Much Much better graphics
* Much Better Sounds and Sound quality
* Much better level design, for example Stairs!
* Video Scenes to set the story
* A proper story line
* A brilliant atmosphere on the levels
This all together make Return To Castle Wolfenstein a world beater.
The Game is set in the War and you have been captured by the Nazis and
have to escape
(I know there is more but i dont want to spoil anything for anyone).

=============================================================================
IV) Overview To Multiplayer "Castle Wolfenstein"
=============================================================================

The Multiplayer section to "Return To Castle Wolfenstein" is very good
it is split into teams of Allies and Axis (Nazis) and one team must defend
and one team must attack and clear objectives to win. Imagine if you will a
cross between Unreal Tournaments Assault mode, Team Fortress Classic and
Counterstrike and you will get the idea. Anyway there are four classes to
each side, these classes being Soldiers, Medics, Engineers, and Lieutenants
and each character plays a key role to the game as each ones skills are used
in a game.
You can however play a game with just Lieutenants and win but the others
are so much fun to be aswell it makes the game much more fun and possible.

=============================================================================
V) About the Lieutenant
=============================================================================

You may hear a lot of explosions in a game with the Lieutenant,
the Lieutenants skill is that he can throw a flair and call an Airstrike.
The Lieutenant is a key character in long games as he can also drop
ammunition packs for his team to pick up which is very usefull.
The Lieutenant carries six items, these are a Knife, A Lugar or Colt
(handgun), a Thompson, MP40, or Sten (Sub-Machine Gun), Pineapple or
Potatoe Masher (Grenades), a Flair Canister (For Aiming And Calling
An Airstrike), and packs of Ammunition.

=============================================================================
VI) ALLIED Weapons & Equipment
=============================================================================

*KNIFE*

The Knife is your bog standard Weapon which you only use when you have
ran out of ammo, it is thrust into your enemy repeatedly until he is dead.

and is used by every class.

on Enemies (Only Sinlge Player Without Cheating)

*THOMPSON*

The Thompson is the Lieutenants Sub-Machine Gun, it fires quite fast but needs
frequent reloads which can be a bit of a pain in the ehat of battle, but its
the best Gun The Engineer has.

TIP - This Is more powerful and accurate than the MP40
(Usefull in Single Player Games or As Soldier Or Lieutenant)

*MP40*

The MP40 is not that powerfull but its fast rate of fire makes up for it
quite well it is the standard Nazi weapon in the Single Player mode and
players will probably have more practice with this weapon through the game.

TIP - Fire in small bursts for better accuracy, after a while the accuracy
is very poor on automatic fire.

*STEN*

The Sten is very powerfull and is very usefull it can kill an opponent in
less shots than the MP40 and Luger even though it uses the same ammo. It
will seem pritty bad at first because it overheats, but dont let that fool
you this gun has to be the best SMG (Sub Machine Gun) in the game with
practice.

effects in battle, and is very good when used accuratly.

*Grenade*

Your Standard Grenade, Aim Hold Fire for a second and let go, it isnt hard.
dont hold it for more than 4 seconds as it blows up on 5. Grenades are very
useful for making enemies take alternate routes, blowing up that annoying
black barbed wire, and just for giving a few unsuspecting enemies a scare.
It is best used around a few enemies.

TIP - Stay away from these Grenades as they have a good blast radius and
can make your teams medic's life a misery.

*Flair Canister*

Your Canisters cannot attack but are needed to call an airstrike which is the
equivalent to about 8 grenades exploding in a straight line.
Just throw as if it were a grenade and watch the flairs colour wave off into
the air and await radio confirmation of an airstrike

TIP - Do Not try and call an Airstrike Indoors as the plane cannot see the
target flair from the sky.
- Blue Flair smoke is Allies, Red Flair Smoke is Axis (Nazi)

*Ammunition Packs*

The Ammo packs are very very useful as soldiers and all classes can run out
of ammo quite quickly and will need support so dropping extra ammo for your
team to pick up is quite valuable.

VIII) Tactics
==============================================================================

Lieutenants are ok in battle but there better used behind the soldiers so
they can supply ammo and can call the odd airstrike on the enemy.

Scatter Ammo packs around your teams main spawning points to give your troops
a better collection of ammo sto start with.

Dont call an airstrike if your team is going to be where the bombs will drop
i know this is common sense but it happens a few times in games so just be
careful.
