[1.01] Introduction
In my resolve to make another in-depth guide rather than a massive FAQ, this
will be my second such guide. This game is unique in the way that all you
do is to build an empire, making chocolate. This is my second game involving
the food industry and is relatively fun. There are 64 recipes to make and this
guide will cover all of them, and some tips as well.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[1.02] Version History
Version 0.1 [14/9/07]
Started this guide. This is relative simple to complete actually. 64 recipes
to list down, lets go.
"Simple Chocolate Bars that are simply delicious."
Ingredients: Sugar
Cacao Beans
Looks Like: Your average 16 Square chocolate bar.
Your basic bar, this is the easiest to produce and this comes at a cheaper
price at the shops. It doesn't involve any special ingredients and the sugar
and beans are relatively cheap to purchase. It should also be a breeze to make
at the factory and you should be getting about 30 a go since this is the
most basic. You should produce these first until you get more money.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2.02] Dark Chocolate Bars
"Higher cacao content makes these a bit fancier than Basic Chocolate Bars."
Ingredients: Sugar
2X Cacao Beans
Looks Like: Your average 16 Square chocolate bar but darker in complexion.
A bit harder to make and is your first chocolate bar with 3 ingredients
instead of the basic chocolate bar but two of the ingredients are the same.
When making, remember to buy two times more beans than sugar, as this recipe
requires it that way. These sell at a decent price at the shops though, making
up for the trouble caused.
"A rich and creamy blend of fine milk solids, cacao and sugar."
Ingredients: Sugar
Cacao Beans
Milk Solids
Looks Like: The Basic and Dark Chocolate Bars except lighter in colour.
Your first bar with three Different Ingredients in them. Luckily, Milk Solids
are cheaper than cacao beans and this sells at about the same price as the
Dark Chocolate Bars. You will make sure that you don't mix up the Sugar and
the Milk Solids since they are the same colour, both being white. These
should be your staple bar with three ingredients.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2.04] Chocolate Bars with Almonds
"Fresh roasted almonds on a bed of the finest chocolate."
Ingredients: Almonds
Sugar
Cacao Beans
Looks Like: Basic Chocolate Bar with little blobs on top.
This will be another 3 ingredient bar for you to make. Almonds are relatively
common to find, given you know where to find it and sugar and cacao beans are
everywhere. This well sell at a good price and you should be making about 20
bars a week. In real life however, these actually do taste nice and it is fun
to make them ingame.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2.05] Chocolate Bars with Cashews
"These scrumptious bars are made with roasted cashews, sugar and cacao beans."
Ingredients: Sugar
Cacao Beans
Cashews
Looks Like: Basic Chocolate Bar dotted with crushed cashew pieces.
Another 3 Ingredient bar for you to make and this is the same as the almond
bar. They sell at a decent price, normally $150+. The cashews are the only
problem as they may be a bit of bother to find, but you'll find it, eventually
anyway. Sugar and Cacao will be relatively cheap and by this point, you can
sell a lot of different bars. Should average about 20 a week.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2.06] Chocolate Bars with Coffee
"Dense chocolate with real roasted coffee you will savour at the finish."
Ingredients: Sugar
Cacao Beans
Coffee Beans
Looks Like: Dark Chocolate Bar dotted with crushed coffee beans.
Again, another 3 Ingredient bar for you to gun around with. It sells at a
higher price due to the price of the coffee beans, and when you find it, try
South America, you will need to buy in bulk as it is a fair distance away from
other places. You should average about 20 a week with these bars at least
though.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2.07] Chocolate Bars with Trinidad Lemons
Ingredients: Sugar
Cacao Beans
Trinidad Lemons
Looks Like: Basic Chocolate Bar with Yellow Lemon Worms all over it.
Again, another three ingredient except the special ingredient is much more
simpler to find, hint is in the name. This well generally sell near the $200
mark, decent at least and you should make at least 20 a week per factory.
Again, buy in bulk for the lemons as they are located in one area only and
this well serve you well.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2.08] Chocolate Bars with Fresh Mint
"Sharp mint leaves give these bars a wonderful aftertaste. The perfect after-
dinner chocolate."
Ingredients: Sugar
Cacao Beans
Mint Leaves
Looks Like: A lighter Dark Chocolate Bar with mint crosses on top.
Yet again, another three ingredient bar with the secret ingredient of mint.
Found in San Fran, this is close to your first factory, making it easier for
you to acquire. Make about 20 a week for each factory and should sell at
about the $200 range without any dramas. Of course, I do love my mint
chocolate.
"The finest Quito cacao lends these bars a unique taste that lingers on the
palate."
Ingredients: Sugar
2X Quito Cacao Beans
Looks Like: Dark Chocolate Bar engraved with a fancy Q figure.
A new type of 3 ingredient bar as it requires a different type of cacao. This
is only found in a single location and will not be found in the market,
instead, it is found in a building. These sell for a lot more as the cacao
made to produce them cost a fair amount, even more if you purchase at the
wrong time. You should average about 20 bars for a factory if you can, but
it should be higher as two ingredients are the same.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2.10] Special Trinidad Cacao Chocolate Bars
"Cacao beans imported from Trinidad give these bars their distinct,
incomparable temper and taste."
Ingredients: Sugar
2X Trinidad Cacao Beans
Looks Like: Dark Chocolate Bar engraved with a fancy T figure.
The same as the Exclusive Quito bars in that they require a new type of cacao
bean, imported from Trinidad. Again, you cannot buy from the market and you
will have to buy at a specific building only selling this. This makes
Trinidad relatively important for cacao and lemons. Make about 25 a week as
these will make a lot of money in the long term.
"Only the finest Mahajanga cacao harvested in Madagascar is used to craft
these dark, delectable bars."
Ingredients: Sugar
2X Mahajanga Cacao Beans
Looks Like: Extremely Dark Chocolate Bar engraved with a capital M figure.
As with the above two, these require a different type of bean. Again, only
found in a single location, these are relatively expensive compared with
normal cacao and will only make the selling price even higher. Found only in
a specific building, you should make about 25 a week. However, the location of
this Mahajanga bean is faraway so buy in bulk if you wish to make a large
amount.
"Sri Lankan cacao beans give these bars a wonderful aroma and remarkable
finish."
Ingredients: Sugar
2X Colombo Cacao Beans
Looks Like: Extremely Dark Chocolate Bar engraved with a capital C figure.
The last of the special Cacao bars, these 3 ingredient bars require a new
type of cacao. Remember that you should buy the beans in bulk to save you
the trip back and forth for more ingredients. Again, you should average from
20 to 25 bars a week per factory and must be purchased from a location
different from the market.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2.13] Extra Dark Chocolate Bars
"These Extra Dark Chocolate Bars are made of 75% pure cacao."
Ingredients: Sugar
3X Cacao Beans
Looks Like: Extremely, Extremely Dark Chocolate Bar with the words, engraved
in a fancy fashion, XD.
The first of the 4 ingredient bars. This will be the most simple of the bars
as three of the ingredients are the same. The selling price will be above the
$250 mark per bar and you should be able to produce, with any luck, about 15
to 20 bars at least. I managed to make 25 a week so of course, you can. The
beans will cost a fair amount and you will need a large amount of ensure a
flowing supply.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2.14] White Chocolate Bars
"Blending milk solids, sugar and cacao, these untraditional bars have become
popular the world over."
Ingredients: 2X Sugar
Cacao Beans
Milk Solids
Looks Like: Your standard 16 square chocolate bar in white.
The second of the bars and this is getting harder to make. You should be able
to pull off about 12 to 15 bars a week hopefully. Of course, with pain
shooting the cannon, you will be able to sell these at a pretty high price
at the shops. The problem itself is actually playing the mini-game to make
the bars originally.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2.15] Dark Bars with Almonds
"The snap of these sleek, extra dark and nutty bars is beyond compare."
Ingredients: Almonds
Sugar
2X Cacao Beans
Looks Like: The Chocolate Bars with Almonds with a Dark Chocolate base.
The third of the 4 ingredient bars and will be as hard to make as the previous
bar. Of course, you are compensated for your efforts in the higher selling
price. By the mid game area, you should be selling one of these 4 bars to
gain greater cash flow and they don't drain as many materials as the 2 and 3
Ingredient bars are. Make about 15 a week on average if possible.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2.16] Coffee Dark Chocolate Bars
"High cacao content combined with roasted coffee beans make these bars a
pleasure to see, smell and taste."
Ingredients: Sugar
2X Cacao Beans
Coffee Beans
Looks Like: Extra Dark Chocolate Bars with crushed coffee beans on it.
The last of the chocolate bars and not that simple to make. You should be
able to make about 15 a week and sell upwards of $300 on a good day. The
coffee beans may be a problem to find but try in South America if you can't
find it by yourself. Again, you will need 2 times as many cacao beans if
you want to maintain steady production.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[3.01] Extra Dark Chocolate Squares
"The finest extra dark chocolate shaped into squares."
Ingredients: Sugar
3X Cacao Beans
Looks Like: Dark Chocolate Square crossed with chocolate and gold dots.
The first of the squares and they are basically the advancement from bars to
Squares. This will slowly happen as Squares are replaced by infusions and then
truffles. Again, they will start off hard, with a lot of cacao beans involved
and the initial cost for some new machines. After you get the hang of it, you
should be able to make about 20 a week for a single factory. However, as a
note, squares sell for a large amount of money.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[3.02] Dark Chocolate Squares with Cashews
"Fresh cashews, encased in rich, dark chocolate, shaped into squares."
Ingredients: Sugar
2X Cacao Beans
Cashew Nuts
Looks Like: Dark Chocolate Square with crushed cashews on the top.
Replacing White Chocolate bars, these squares are harder to make than the
Extra Dark ones as they will require cashews which will require some searching
from the markets. You should be able to make about 20 if you are lucky on the
machines.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[3.03] Dark Chocolate Squares with Almonds
"These squares are made with fresh almonds, and exhibit a nutty, earthy,
finish."
Ingredients: Almonds
Sugar
2X Cacao Beans
Looks Like: An Extra Dark Chocolate Square with a blop on the top.
Replacing the bar version of its chocolate, this will sell well. You should
be able to make about 20 a week if you are lucky. Read more from the above
squares as I am getting tired of repeating myself.
"A whole, toasted hazelnut awaits in these squares of the finest dark
chocolate."
Ingredients: Hazelnuts
Sugar
2X Cacao Beans
Looks Like: Chocolate Square with hazelnut Brittle on top.
You are now introduced to the newest ingredients, the hazelnut. They aren't
that cheap but you should use this as a stepping stone. They are easy to make
in comparison to other squares and should be making about 20 a week if you
can.
"One luscious, sweet cherry surrounded by the finest chocolate."
Ingredients: Sugar
2X Cacao Beans
Bing Cherries
Looks Like: Dark Chocolate Square crossed in red confectionary.
Again, introduced to another new ingredient, the Bing Cherry. These are not
cheap either, but of course, they sell better at the shops than before. As
these have only 3 Different Ingredients, you should be able to make about 20
a week from a single factory.
"Dark chocolate squares with a sweet cinnamon flare that evokes warmth and
good cheer."
Ingredients: Sugar
2X Cacao Beans
Cinnamon
Looks Like: A Chocolate Square with a cinnamon top with a circle in the centre
of the topping.
Once again, another ingredient is added for you to master. You will now get
cinnamon, and as other ingredients, they aren't cheap for you to purchase.
Yet, as with the other squares, there are only three Different Ingredients and
you should be averaging about 20 squares from a factory.
"Light and buttery caramel centres enrobed in pure, dark chocolate."
Ingredients: Sugar
2X Cacao Beans
Caramel
Looks Like: Chocolate Square engraved with an image on top.
The square with only three Different Ingredients. This also introduces
to you the caramel ingredient that you can purchase at a pretty good price.
You should average about 20 per week.
It gets harder from there with 4 Different Ingredients for you to fire the
gun from. These don't come cheap at all and I won't be surprised if you can
only make about 15 a week.
Looks Like: Chocolate Square with Vanilla top and a cherry image.
Introducing a new ingredient, Vanilla. This will be harder as there are 4
Different Ingredients and I will only expect you to average about 15 a week
under these circumstances.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[3.13] Cinnamon Chocolate Squares with Vanilla
"A wisp of Madagascar vanilla, combined with cinnamon, give these squares a
uniquely satisfying flavour and hue."
Ingredients: Sugar
Cacao Beans
Vanilla
Cinnamon
Looks Like: A Chocolate Square with 2 stripes on the side, cinnamon and
vanilla flavoured stripes surrounding a chocolate stripe.
Another square with 4 Different Ingredients. Again, I won't be surprised with
15 squares as these are harder to make. The selling price will only keep going
up from now on.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[3.14] Milk Chocolate Squares with Vanilla
"Creamy milk chocolate squares with a surprising whiff of vanilla."
"Velvety milk chocolate filling in a pure milk chocolate shell."
Ingredients: 2X Sugar
2X Milk Solids
Cacao Beans
Looks Like: A round infusion with a swizzle stripe down the centre.
The infusions are circular walls that contain a wonderful filling in the
centre. From now on, I won't bother with the averages and some won't have
comments as they will just be pointless repetition.
Looks Like: Infusion with a white band centre and coconut shavings on the top.
This introduces another new ingredient, coconut shavings. This is also harder
to make as there are 4 Different Ingredients, compared with the above 3
ingredients.
A relatively simply truffle to make with 3 Different Ingredients only. These
will only get harder. Also, Truffle Powder is pretty expensive so you should
make large profits with this.
* Travel often so that you know the best deals with you see them.
* Haggle often, however, if you haggle the wrong way, prices go up, not down.
* Do not sell your products straight away, travel around and sell when the
price is just right.
* Too much stock that is not used will rot sooner or later.
* Make as many as you can in the factory, miss only to slow down the machine
if you cannot get many more targets.
* Have a plan of what you are going to make, where you are going and what to
buy.
* Shop around. Never shop in the same place over and over again.
* Go to the inns and bars often, they provide advice and news on the price of
materials in all the cities accessable to you.
* Remember, you can always retry the factory mini-game if you stuff up. You
can also reset your results.
* Having few or no misses in the factory can increase production by a few
units.
