Version 1

After four long, hard days of writing, I've finally completely finished the
guide for all of the missions in Call of Duty 2. It probably took me 20-30
hours to finish, but that did include playing through each of the missions as
I wrote the guide for them. I've also spellchecked it and corrected all of the
typo's (which weren't too bad considering there's a good 28,000 words in this
guide), so it should be pretty useful for anyone who's stuck.

I think I need a break from writing now, so I'll go and play through single
player for the third time without needing to pause every few seconds to write
more of the guide. I hope the guide is useful for everyone. It's definitely the
most work I've ever put into my video game walkthroughs. Each mission
walkthrough has an evrage of about 900 words, which is pretty incredible
compared to the 300 or so my CoD1 missions had.

Anyway, enough chatter, hope you find the guide useful, and dont forget to
email me with any tips, questions or errors you've found.

Welcome to my guide for Call Of Duty 2. You may or may not know that I have
written full walkthroughs for all Call Of Duty PC games released so far, and I
have decided to continue with this guide. The Call Of Duty series is my most
played gaming franchise ever. I've been playing Call Of Duty, and United
Offensive for pretty much two straight years because of the great replay value
available with multiplayer, but also the very fun single player missions. I
like to think I'm good at the game, so I try my best to help other people out
too with my single player walkthroughs, and hopefully this will be as useful as
I know my previous guides have been. Feel free to check out my clans website
at http://www.GunningForGlory.com where you'll find all sorts of cool stuff
like other guides, modifications, screenshots, downloads, and of course a
fun, active clan. You can post on the forums if you need any help with anything
and someone will be sure to give you some advice. Other than that, just enjoy
the guide and contact me if you need any help, have any advice or want to
correct an error. You MUST email me asking for permission if you wish to host
this guide, and if you are granted permission, you MUST ensure your site is
displaying the most updated version at all times. I will NOT send out updates
to every site that wishes to host my guides, so the latest version will always
be found at GunningForGlory.com or GameFAQs.com. If you are not going to keep
the guide up to date, don't bother asking to host it, as I'll be making a lot
of updates. If you host the guide and it's not kept up to date, I'll ask for
it to be removed. Be warned.

Call Of Duty 2 is the next game in the amazing Call Of Duty series which covers
almost every major battle of World War Two. There are a few new features in
CoD2 which you'll probably need to be made aware of, they are listed below.
The game functions in almost the exact same way as the original Call Of Duty,
so if you've played that, you won't have any trouble getting used to this one.

• New Health System
Call Of Duty 2 doesn't keep the health system from the original games. Instead
of having a set value of health which you will lose or replenish with health
packs, this time you have no indication of your current health. This may seem
strange at first, however once you get used to it, it's really quite simple. To
put it in it's most basic form, you have "infinite health". You won't die by
getting shot multiple times, even without picking up health packs. Instead, you
die from taking a lot of damage in a small amount of time. When you get hit
hard, an indicator will appear on the screen, and you'll feel your heart rate
increasing and so on. During this time you need to find some cover and rest.
Stay safe for about five seconds or so and you'll regain your health and be
good to go. Because of this, you could take hundreds of hits throughout
missions, but if you stay in cover and heal yourself enough, you can make it
through without dying. Not really the most realistic feature that could have
been added, but it certainly changes the way you need to play the game. Running
and gunning will usually easily get you killed. You need to go slowly.

• Mantle System
CoD2 gives you the option to jump over / onto small obstacles in front of you
in a sort of scripted event. Sometimes you can't jump high enough, or the game
just won't let you jump over certain things, but if you stand next to an object
and you see a small curved arrow symbol type thing, then pushing the jump key
will allow you to climb over it.

• Grenade Indicator
When an enemy, or even an allied grenade is thrown near you, an indicator will
appear on the screen showing you which direction it's located in. Always make
sure you find cover in the opposite direction of the arrow unless you want to
be blown up.

• Ammo Display
Along with many of the on screen displays, the ammo display will fade after a
few seconds if you're not using your gun. To see how much ammo you have in your
gun and to bring up the display, simply press the reload button.

• Compass
When you spot an enemy, or your squad mates shout out where one is, a red dot
will appear on your compass showing the location of the enemy soldier. This is
useful if you're being shot at and don't know where from.

PLEASE NOTE:
Due to the way Call of Duty 2 has been made, without as many linear approaches
to missions, for the most part it will depend on how you play through the
mission as to how well the guide will work for you. I can't go into a lot of
detail about each section of each mission because as I stated before, the way
the AI and the game has been designed, things can and do change depending on
the players choices. I'll give a basic run down of each mission, which should
be able to help enough in those tricky situations. I finished the game on
Veteran before writing this guide, so I'm aware of exactly where the hard
parts of the game are, and the best way of getting past them. If the guide is
based on Veteran, then it can only be easier for the other difficulties.

ALSO NOTE:
There is a section in the guide explaining which weapons you get for each
mission. These generally vary depending on which weapons you had at the end of
the previous mission. The only way I was able to get the exact weapons everyone
would have was to use the "Restart Mission" option in game. When you use this,
you'll start the mission with default weapons. Please do not email me informing
me that the weapons are wrong, it's another non-linear feature that has been
included by Infinity Ward.

=====================================
M I S S I O N W A L K T H R O U G H
=====================================
From the start of the mission, drop down off the truck and make a dash for the
weapons on the table. No matter how fast you get there, you'll be muscled out
of a rifle by the other soldiers so Commissar Letlev will tell you to grab a
pistol and rifle from the storeroom. Head down the trench and into the building
on the right, where you'll find your weapons on the table by the window. Pick
them up and head back through the building and trench to meet up with Letlev
once more. He'll tell you to turn around and shoot the teddy bears, so using
either your pistol, or rifle, fire a shot into each of the helpless bears.

After that he'll tell you to walk up to the shooting range and shoot the glass
bottles. I'd say use your pistol for this, however it doesn't make much
difference. Keep shooting until he's satisfied, then you'll be given a new
objective. This time you've got to shoot as many German helmets as possible in
fifteen seconds. It doesn't make any difference how many you actually get,
even if you don't fire a shot, after the fifteen seconds the objective will be
cleared for you.

Next up is grenade training, or rather, potato throwing. Grab up some potatoes
from the box, and using your grenade button, throw them into the bath tub, the
upper window and the lower doorway. After you've made the shots you'll be
interrupted by a soldier telling the Commissar that you've captured a prisoner.
Follow Letlev down the trench into the store room, where the German will inform
you that a German attack is heading straight for you. The Commissar wants you
to deal with it, so this is your on-the-job training.

Head out through the doorway and go through the buildings on the right. Mantle
over the wall when you're told, crouch under the doorway and then enter the
trench. Keep low as you move along it, and go prone to get under the obstacle.
Keep going until you reach the armory, and swap your pistol for a PPSh as well
as grabbing up some grenades and smoke grenades, and make sure to reload your
weapons. Head up the ladder and throw a smoke grenade into the middle of the
street. Give it about ten to fifteen seconds to fill the street, then move
across and meet up with your squad in the opposite building. Help them dispose
of the Germans who come out of the half-track, and take cover, leaning out and
looking up the street to the right.

There are about four Germans behind various objects at the top of the street,
using grenades to flush them out, pick them off with a rifle or your PPSh. Once
they're all gone, be ready to take out an MG42 gunner in the building to the
right. After he's been killed, you'll spot the Panzerwerfer, so follow your
squad around the corner and prepare to engage about five more Germans, mainly
situated on the top floor of the broken building to the left. Try to get a
grenade in there, or just stay in cover and pick them off when they expose
themselves, then move up to the top floor and clear up with a PPSh.

There'll be a few Germans in the building just below you, so fire through the
windows and take them out, then prepare to move into a heavily defended area.
As you move past the building you'll see about seven or eight Germans behind
the sand bags, try to get a grenade in there, or shoot the red barrels. This
should take out most, if not all of them. From here, move into the larger area
where the Panzerwerfer is situated. You'll notice probably four Germans waiting
around this area to fight you, so my advice is to throw a smoke grenade into
the middle, let it fill up with smoke, then run down the left hand side with a
PPSh taking out any enemies you can see, and plant the bomb on the front of the
tank. Keep out of the way as it explodes, and you'll pass the mission after a
short debriefing.

Make your way out of the starting room, and head along the corridor to the
right. Stop just before you go around the corner and lean out. There'll be a
number of Germans in this area. There should be one to the right behind a
pillar, a few directly in front of you as you turn the corner, and a few
Germans to the left. Use grenades or your guns to take out as many as you can,
then try to move into the building. As you get in, the Germans will fall back
and take cover behind the walls outside, so head to the window and begin firing
at any heads you see pop up.

Keep shooting until you've cleared out most of the Germans in between the two
rows of buildings, then carefully make your way across the area into the German
buildings. I'd suggest keeping to the left as you cross to avoid any fire from
Germans who are still alive. Move into their left-most building, ensuring that
it's safe to do so, then proceed along the small corridor. There'll probably be
two Germans who run out to greet you, so dispose of them, then move through the
door on the right and take out as many enemies as you can. You've just flanked
them, so most of them are facing the wrong way. A few short sprays of your PPSh
should be enough to take them out.

Continue through the two blown out walls at the back of the room, and make your
way down stairs. Move out, along the trench keeping low until you reach the two
soldiers in the middle. You'll be told to get down as there's tanks going over
head, so make sure you're crouched and wait for them to pass. After that, just
make your way to the other end of the trench. Once you get there, head up the
stairs to the right and choose either the left or right room for your cover.
Grab the Scoped Mosin-Nagant if you'd like a sniper rifle for the battle ahead,
or just stick with your SVT-40. Wait by the windows in position as the Germans
start their counter attack.

Shoot at the charging Germans, and try to take out as many as you can. I
believe they'll keep coming in waves, so try to take out as many of the first
wave as possible, then make a run through the trenches to the next building.
You'll now be told to clear out the German hardpoint. Move up to the fence and
pick off any enemies who look to be a threat, then make your way alongside the
wall all the way to the right. Follow the path alongside the wall up and to the
end, and you should be getting close to grenade throwing distance of the German
MG42 gunners. Keep to the right and move in towards the German building using
your grenades to take out the majority of infantry. Once you get close enough
switch to an automatic weapon such as your PPSh and move in through the
right-most window. Pick off any enemy soldiers in here who remain, then go
through the door on the right. Be extremely careful as you move through though,
as there could well be five Germans waiting for you. Move out carefully, and
depending on what you see, decide whether to use grenades to help you move in.
Keep up the fire and take out however many Germans are blocking that entrance,
then move through the room and clear out that end.

Once all of the Germans down there are dead, you'll be told to meet Lieutenant
Leonov who will tell you that you're gonna blow the building to hell. Head
back downstairs and meet up with the engineer, who will give you explosives to
use on the main supports for the building. Make your way back through the
downstairs rooms, looking for yellow flashing bomb icons, and plant your bombs
there. Watch out for the Germans shooting through the floor from above, and
once all of the bomb are planted, get out of there and move back into cover,
then watch the explosion which will bring about the end of the first campaign.

Head down the hill and immediately start shooting at the four Germans to the
left. Kill them all, then move off to the right and along the trenches. Be
prepared for a pretty large firefight just around the corner. You'll need to
take out about ten Germans who are all over the area, behind crates, barrels
and even up above you. You might need to use a few grenades here, as well as
falling back and taking cover whenever one comes your way. Keep working your
way forward and trying to pick them off.

Once they're all gone, keep going through the trenches to the right and kill
another few Germans down here, then move up next to the flak gun and down the
other side. As you approach the bunker entrance two Germans will rush out, so
help your team dispose of them, then quickly but carefully move into the
bunker. Keep crouched and take out the German who will be heading out, then
move into the actual bunker carefully and eliminate two or three Germans behind
obstacles to the left, and the one on the MG42 to the right. Once that's all
clear, continue along the trenches with your squad.

Take out the few Germans just around the corner, then move up towards the next
hardpoint and murder the two Germans manning the machine gun from behind. After
that, head back along the trench and make your way to the left. Just around the
corner to the left are a few Germans, so take them out before they retreat,
then to the right in the bunker is another, so kill him too. Move along the
trench to the left, but fall back as soon as you see the first grenade fly
over. Once all three or so blow up, move through slowly, and prepare to kill
the four Germans around here.

Move down into the bunker and quickly waste the two Germans in here before
running back out, in cover of the two grenades which will usually fall through
the roof. After they've blown, you need to risk your life and climb up the
ladder, quickly turning around to kill any Germans up there, and then the two
defending the last hardpoint. One you've successfully disposed of them all,
drop back down and meet back up with your squad.

You've got to meet up with Captain Price, so head back along the trench, and
through the newly cleared trench in front of the bunker from before. Kill three
or four Germans around here, then proceed to help Price's boys wipe out the big
collection of enemies in this area. Take out the few to the right, then
concentrate on the six or seven across the road behind the sand bags.

Afterwards, Price will tell you to destroy the Germans ammo stockpiles and fuel
barrels. I'd suggest going around the far side of the building in front of you
and shooting all of the red barrels you can see. Take out any Germans who are
close, then make a dash into the bunker type thing and plant your bomb on the
ammo before running the hell out of there. Take some cover from the Germans who
will most likely be coming after you now, then take out as many as you can if
you get a chance, and move towards the next bunker. Keep behind the sand to the
left and sneak up behind the bunker watching out for the mines. Move along to
the far side where you should be able to take out the last two fuel barrels
and a big selection of Germans. Once the area is pretty clear, run down into
the bunker and plant the bomb, then run back around the back of the bunker
for cover as it blows. Throw a few grenades at any remaining Germans before
running into the final bunker and planting the bomb. Once they've all been
destroyed, follow Price to a doorway at the top of the area.

Once it's been blown, head through the door and take out the Germans to the
left, then follow the trench around killing the five or so Germans hidden
behind crates. After MacGregor's hilarious "We don't have time to collect a
load of stupid maps!" quote, you'll need to move into the extremely heavily
defended bunker and clear it out. When I say extremely, I mean extremely.
There's got to be a good ten or so soldiers in here. Carefully make your way
to the port holes and throw a grenade through each one, then a few through the
main doorway. If you were lucky, this will have taken out most of them. Just
move in slowly with your Thompson and pick off any Germans who remain.

Move into the next room where there should be one more German behind some beds,
then grab the documents from the table and head back to Price. Meet up in front
of the Bren Carrier to complete the first British mission.

see another halftrack on it's way. Shoot at it, but you'll most likely be told
to head over to the West flank and stop the Germans who are breaking through.

Head through the town, alongside the wall and make your way across towards the
flak gun. Try as hard as you can to get to it, and then get on it and use it to
help you repel the enemy forces. It's extremely slow reloading, and the blast
radius isn't really anything special, but it'll give you cover, and allow you
to at least slow down the Germans, if not kill them.

Once all of the smoke clears, you'll see another thirty or so Germans moving in
from the South West. Turn the flak gun and use that to take out some, however
you won't get many before they disappear behind the rocks. After a few more
seconds of firing, you'll be informed of more Germans to the North, so make
your way through the town and commandeer the MG42 from your fellow squad mate.
Use it to destroy the large selection of Germans moving in.

Keep up the fire, and you'll see a halftrack move in from the left. Ignore it,
another wave of Germans will come over the hill, so wipe them out instead.
After that you'll be told you need artillery support, so make your way across
to the other side of the town, and enter one of the only buildings you can get
in, then use the ladder to make your way onto the roof.

Once you've made it to the roof, bring up your binoculars and look to the
South. Ignore all of the ground troops moving in, and wait until you see two
shiny grey Panzer tanks moving in. Aim right at the tank, and assuming it
doesn't move, calling the artillery will take it out. There's two to destroy
though, so as soon as your artillery has recharged, fire at the other tank.
As long as you keep firing, you shouldn't come under much fire, but the tanks
can and will shoot out the sandbags around the roof, removing your cover.
Also be aware of sneaky Germans who will climb up the ladder behind you,
however your squad should take them out before you have to worry about them.

Tanks will then move in from the South-West. Wait for them to come to a stop,
and call your artillery right on top of both of them. More tanks will then come
in from the North. Once again, wait for it to come to a stop on the hill before
calling in for artillery and watch it go boom. There'll be another tank further
to the right, at the North than the last one, and just as you call for
artillery on that one, another will make it's way towards you. Wait for it to
stop, and blow it to hell. Once it's gone, just wait for the friendlies to move
in from the North East and it's mission complete.

Immediately from the start of the mission, run forward and crouch behind the
tank. Don't touch it though, as it seems to stop if you're touching the back,
so just use it for cover and keep moving in behind. Once you get to the
trenches kill any Germans in the left ones and then move down the tunnel.
You'll encounter probably four Germans as you move through, all of whom are
behind various crates, but shouldn't be a problem to take out. Move through at
the end of the tunnel and drop down into the trench, watching out for two
Germans to the left.

Keep in the trench until the artillery barrage stops firing, then move down it
and meet up with the tank. Use it for cover as it moves diagonally across to
the left, staying on it's left side until it literally goes over the barbed
wire fence. Stay out of it's way or it'll run you into the sand though. From
the top of the hill you should be at, use your Scoped Lee-Enfield to pick off
any Germans in the trenches right in front of you, then move in and along them.

Go through the tunnel and then kill the two German on the other side. Another
German will come out of the bunker to the right, so waste him, but don't go
running into the bunker yet. There's an MG42 gunner looking right up the steps
you're going to come down. You could try to shoot him through the port hole,
however that chimney type thing to the right is there for a reason. It's tricky
to do, but bounce a grenade off the underside of the chimney and get it to drop
through the hole. It'll blow up some explosive barrels and make mince meat out
of everyone inside. Then you can move in safely.

Drop down the ladder and then proceed through the rooms down stairs killing the
three or four Germans around here. Before heading out along the tunnel, get on
the MG42 placed there, because three Germans will attempt to make their way
towards you, so you can greet them with bullets and move out safely.

As you get out of the far end, you'll be right at a Flak gun emplacement. You
can try to shoot them, however getting a grenade right next to the 88 seems to
be the best way of dealing with them. Either way, once they're gone you'll have
secured the first gun, so head on down the trench towards the next one. You'll
need to assist Price in killing two or three Germans on MG42's, but the next
small bunker is clear, so move through quickly. Head to the right and move
through the trenches, taking out three or so Germans who'll be on their way
around the corner.

Continue into the bunker, and throw a grenade at the Flak 88 crew. Don't give
them a chance to throw it back though, spray your Thompson at them and then
wait until they blow up. Once it all seems clear, move into the bunker and head
to the table at the right hand side of the Flak gun. Notice the health pack
easter egg? Now no one can complain about there being no health packs in the
new damage system. Anyway, continue through the bunker rooms on the left and
make your way along the deserted tunnel before keeping low in the trench.

You need to make your way across this area to the right, where the MG fire is
coming from. Officially, you're supposed to stick with the tanks, the first of
which will be blown up, however you can just throw a smoke grenade as far as
you can towards the MG42 gunners to the right, and run across without much
resistance. Take cover behind some rocks and take out the gunners before moving
into the trench. Kill any remaining Germans here, and any through the tunnel,
then move along the trench to the left. Don't worry about the right Flak gun,
a tank will rip through it.

This area is pretty well defended, but luckily you have a sizeable squad with
you. Throw a grenade at the Flak gun, and at the four Germans by the barrels
below you, then take cover. Your squad mates should move in and take the
majority of them out after throwing smoke grenades for concealment. Move in and
clean out any last Germans by the 88, then continue along the trench towards
the last gun taking out the few Germans who lie in wait behind crates on the
way. Use grenades to help you wipe out the final Germans at the flak gun, then
move in and secure it.

Head back along the trench, and Captain Price will plant explosives on the door
and blow it down. Once he's planted the bomb, move pretty far away as it'll
kill you. Once it's blown, move through the smoke and down the stairs, where
you should be expecting a decent selection of Germans. Shoot a few with your
Thompson, then use grenades to keep the others busy. Constantly move back and
take cover and keep fighting for as long as it takes to kill the six or seven
Germans down here.

Head through the trenches until you reach a small set of buildings. Use your
sniper rifle to pick off any Germans on the rooftop, then using smoke for
concealment run like hell towards the right building. Find the doorway and get
in before the German reinforcements arrive. Move upstairs and go in the first
room on the right, killing the German waiting for you. Move outside and up to
the roof where there should be one more German. You can then look out of the
windows and pick off any Germans below until Price tells you to find a radio.
It's in that room on the right at the top of the stairs, so move in and send
the message to Monty for mission completion.

Following the short truck ride into the city, immediately jump off the back or
sides of the vehicle and take cover from the MG42 fire coming from the windows
up ahead.

Once you've caught your breath, run across in front of the MG's and take cover
behind the building on the right. Follow your squad around to the right hand
side and head towards the other end of the street. You'll come across about ten
Germans behind some sandbags and barrels at the far wall. Take cover behind any
of the objects scattered around and use your Lee-Enfield to carefully pick them
off one by one. After you kill the first three or four, another five or so will
rush down from a room at the end of the street and take up their positions. Try
to move in a bit closer, get a grenade in their location and then move in with
your Thompson and clear it out.

Take cover behind the sandbags where the Germans were and carefully lean around
the boxes and look to the right. You'll see two or three Germans by the MG42 on
the floor just around the corner alongside the center building, and two or
three others behind the wall at the other end of the street. There'll also be
one German on the balcony next to the window MG gunner. Help your squad take
them out and then proceed towards the open building right below the window MG42
gunners. As you reach it, one of your team mates will take out the gunner.

Head through the first room and along the small corridor. Carefully lean out of
the doorway and prepare to shoot at a proned MG42 gunner lying directly in
front of you. Take him out then you'll see two more Germans, one on each side
of him. They'll most likely throw grenades as you, so retreat back to the other
end of the corridor until they explode, then lean back out the door and pick
them off.

Head through the alleyways and stop as you reach a corner with a view of the
ocean. The German artillery can be found here, along with a large number of
their soldiers. Let your squad catch up with you, then start shooting at the
Germans manning the Flak guns. Be aware of the riflemen on the roof and on the
balconies to the right and ensure you take them out before they do likewise.

Once you've cleared the first Flak, move up to the right and take cover against
the corner, behind the stack of crates. Lean out and fire off a few rifle shots
at the many Germans in the distance. Try shooting the red barrels which will
explode taking out a few of them at once. Keep up the fire and help your squad
pick off every last German. Once they appear to be all gone, move up and along
the dock area. As you get towards the end one of your team mates will shout out
to throw some smoke, don't worry, someone else will take care of it for you,
but you may need to get your rifle and aim at the MG42 gunner on the roof of
the German building. Once he's been taken care of, move along to the end of the
area and go through the opening on the right. Depending how quickly you've
gotten this far, there may or may not be Germans waiting for you. Either way
you're going to have to kill them. There might be one or two coming through the
opening as you get there, one just inside to the left, or possibly two to the
right of the opening, maybe with a planted MG42 on a table.

If you got there a bit faster, the Germans probably won't have gotten into
positions yet, so quickly rush in and keep to the right. Head around the far
corner of the building with the two tunnel type things, straight ahead of your
entrance to the area, and you might have a nice surprise with four or so
Germans heading straight for you. Make sure you've got an auto and spray them
until they're all gone, then make your way towards the main German building.

Enter the bottom floor and make your way to the right into the small back room.
Depending on how long your squad have been fighting the Germans, there may be
one or two still alive down here, so be careful and if you see any, take them
out. As you approach the stairs another German will make his way down, but you
should have no problem taking care of him with a Thompson. Head up the stairs
and around, ensuring there are no more enemies left alive, then use the radio
as your squad marks the target with smoke and watch the fireworks.

After that, head back downstairs and make your way back past the "tunnel
building". You'll find members of your squad pinned down by MG42 gunners. Feel
free to try and take them out with your rifle, however from what I've seen,
they'll just keep on respawning anyway. Head through the gate to the left of
the area and watch as one of your squad mates gets splattered by a good few
hundred German bullets. Just after the last bit of door comes flying off,
crouch down and lean / strafe into the doorway with a Thompson or another fully
automatic weapon. Spray the three Germans in there before they realise you're
attempting to come in. There'll usually be two to the left, and a guy on an
MG42 at the back of the room, in-line with the entrance.

After disposing of them, continue through the back alleyway and head up the
steps into the next room. There'll be two Germans in here, one of which should
be easy to kill, the other will be around the corner and will be preparing to
throw a grenade at you. Do whatever you need to do to take out these two
Germans then carefully make your way to the blown out wall. Below you are two
Germans on MG42's, but you also have three Germans in the building opposite,
one on the roof of the building just left of that, and one or two on the
balcony of the building to the left of yours. I'd suggest using a rifle and
carefully picking off the German riflemen who are situated in various positions
around the aforementioned buildings. There's one on the balcony directly
opposite, one on the roof and one in the far right window. Take out those and
the other few Germans mentioned before, then use a grenade or machine gun to
clear out the MG42 gunners.

Make your way into the German headquarters building and approach the stairs,
killing the two guards inside watching the entrance. As you get there, a German
will usually make his way down so kill him, then cautiously make your way up
the stairs. Before you get half way, turn around and climb them backwards, a
German will be waiting with a rifle for you, so take him out as soon as you get
a chance. I'd then suggest throwing a grenade into that end of the room, before
actually entering it as there are two Germans behind a table ready to gun you
down. Make sure they're both dead, then grab the documents and make your way
out of the building.

Jump on the MG42 in the sand-bagged area and use it to clear out the five or so
Germans who are trying a counter attack, they should be disposed of no problem.
Next just head through the gate to the left and follow the alleyway until you
meet up with more members of your squad. When you hear that "this building is
secure", you're safe, so follow them up the stairs and off the balcony where
you'll meet up with the Captain and complete the objective.

=====================================
From the start of the mission, run along the street, and run across the road in
front of the MG42. If you have trouble with it, you could use smoke, but that's
really not necessary this early in the mission. Make your way up the steps and
repair the wire, then move to the left and take cover. behind the walls and
other objects. Lean out and take out the Germans who will probably be marked
with red dots on your compass, then when you've killed off most of the close
ones, mantle over the wall and move towards the MG42 position.

There'll still be a few Germans to kill here, however move into the building on
the left and repair the wire. Throw one or two grenades up behind the sandbags
at the top of the room, as there are three to five Germans in here who will
randomly pop up and rifle you. Use your SVT-40 or PPSh to pick them off if you
get a chance. When all looks clear, move up and head to the far exit of the
building. Help your squad dispose of any Germans you can see here, then prepare
for probably one of the toughest battles in the game so far.

You will definitely need to smoke the street around the corner. There are a
good fifteen or so Germans with rifles and autos shooting right at you, and
you've literally got to get past them. The only way is to use smoke to block
their vision, get pretty much all of your grenades in there and then move in
fast with a PPSh and clear up the rest. Of course it's never that easy, and
you could well be stuck at this section for a number of retries. You've just
gotta keep trying, and get lucky.

Move into the building on the right and kill the three Germans down here before
heading through the doorway. This next section can be quite difficult too, take
cover behind the concrete in the center of the area and use your SVT-40 to kill
the Germans on the floors opposite. There'll be three or so up there, then one
German may come down the stairs to the right. Wipe them all out, then head up
those stairs and repair the wire.

Two Germans, or maybe more will rush to the top of the stairs, so prepare to
take them out, then slowly make your way to the top of the steps where you'll
have to kill two or three more Germans, most of whom are behind the objects in
the center for cover. Clear out this area, and then get on the MG42 to the
left. Use it to fire at all of the Germans below and keep shooting until you
can't see any more. Repair the wire right next to the MG, then proceed through
the building.

Lean out from behind the wall and take out the few Germans who will come to the
sand bags in the next building. Once they're gone, move across and look through
the sand bags to take out a few more Germans. A few will probably try to flank
you from the room on the left, so once you've cleared out as many as you can
see, move through the rooms and use your PPSh or grenades to take out the
remaining Germans. There are probably a good ten or so scattered through all of
the rooms, so make sure they're all gone, then proceed down into the next area.

Kill the MG42 gunners and rifle men to the left, then head down the stairs to
the right and take out the five or so Germans down here with a grenade and your
PPSh or rifle. Once everyone's been killed, head down the stairs and kill a
German who will be waiting for you, then repair the wire, and use a grenade to
clear out the next room. Once it looks secure, move in and along the corridor.

Kill any Germans who remain in the room at the end, then pick up the sticky
bombs and use the radio to contact HQ and get your orders. There are tanks
moving in, so you need to take them out. Make your way up the stairs and wait
for two Germans to burst through the door. Kill them with your PPSh, then
carefully proceed through the door yourself, taking out the few Germans who
will be in this area.

As you move through a few Germans will make their way down from above and land
below. There'll be a pretty decent amount of Germans to kill, so I'd suggest
throwing two or three grenades in their general direction, then moving in to
clear out the rest. From there move into the next room and get on the MG42 to
the right. Use it to kill a few Germans behind the obstacles at the side of the
road, then get off the MG42 and throw grenades into the building opposite where
the Germans are. Drop down at the end of the room and move across the street
into the German building, then take out any Germans that are left.

There should be a tank coming along the street now, so run across the road and
take cover behind the crates. As the tank goes past, quickly chase it and plant
your bombs on the side or back then take cover as it blows. Make your way along
the street, then along the street to the right, taking out any Germans who you
come across. Move into the building on the right and kill the few Germans
upstairs, then use the balcony outside to help you dispose of the final few
Germans in this area. You'll hear a tank at the end of the next long street,
so get some smoke in there and wait for it to fill up the street.

Once it does, run straight through it and then move into the broken buildings
on the right when you reach them. Kill the few Germans who will be nearby then
run through the building and catch up with the tank. Plant your bomb on it,
then take cover. Move back towards the intersection and then head off down the
street leading to the next tank. This area is heavily populated with Germans
too, but a well placed smoke grenade and a few frag grenades should give you
enough time to rush towards the tank, plant your bomb and take cover at the far
end of the street. Just make sure to kill the two Germans who'll come from that
end of the street after you plant the bomb. Once it blows up, it's the end of
this pretty tough mission.

Move towards the entrance to the pipe and crouch down to allow you access.
Follow your squad up the pipe until they stop above the German halftrack. Like
idiots they'll start shooting and give away your position, so my advice is to
use your gun and spray down onto the Germans before they move out of the
halftrack. It won't really make a difference anyway as your two squad mates
will be wiped out by enemy fire that will rip through the pipes. Quickly make
your way through the pipes and avoid the enemy fire coming through.

You'll need to move quickly and carefully, you can actually move more quickly
by strafing along the side of the pipe as you move forward. Head off to the
right when you reach the piping with writing on it. Ignore the Germans below,
it's not worth wasting your ammo, then continue along the pipe and quickly move
past the grenade that will come through. Once you reach the end, drop down and
follow your squad outside.

Take cover in the trenches and fire at the Germans in the station watch tower
building then move along to the right behind the trains and take out the
Germans who will be streaming towards you. Try to make your way up into the
broken building beside the tower taking out the tens of Germans in here.
You'll most likely have to use a number of grenades and a lot of spraying, as
well as taking cover. Move in and make your way up the stairs, taking out the
German on there, and then get a few grenades in the top of the watch tower
room. There are a good four or so Germans in here, and once you've wiped them
out, you'll immediately have to start defending the area.

Head down the stairs and go prone about half way up. Using a PPSh shoot the
large number of Germans who will move in. Keep up the fire for a few minutes
and then move down and out the far end of the ruined building. Keep to the
right and head around the back of the trains. If there are any Germans still
remaining, try to take them out, but your primary objective is to take out
the enemy tank which is heavily defended by a good number of Germans. You'll
need to use all four of your grenades and two or three smoke grenades, then
run like hell in to plant the bomb on the tank. As soon as you plant it, fall
back behind something and take cover, then pick off the final few Germans in
the area.

Once outside is secure, you'll need to move into the next room and clear it
out. There'll be ten or so Germans in here, so a smoke grenade could help to
move in and a few grenades wouldn't be too bad for you either. Keep spraying
at the enemies until you secure this area, then move to the end of the room,
behind the MG42 and pick up ammo for the PPSh and Tokarev SVT-40.

You now have three objectives which you are required to complete. I'll cover
them in alphabetic order, so we'll need to head out of the large building, then
head left past the broken wall and up the hill. Watch out for about five
Germans here and a few in the building to your right, then run across the open
area all the way to the other side. There'll be a number of Germans in the
trenches to the left, so get some grenades in there, and use your SVT-40 to
pick off any remaining enemies. Move in to the MG42 area and you'll capture
the first objective.

The next objective involves you moving into the large building in the middle
and taking out all of the Germans, which isn't really an easy task considering
there's a good twenty or so in here. Once again use grenades and your PPSh to
assist in the murder of the Germans. They'll throw grenades back at you and
use the objects in the room to the right effectively for cover, so make sure
you check every single area, and once the whole building is secure move back
down and proceed across towards the final objective.

Almost exactly the same as the first, you need to kill a number of Germans in
the trenches, then capture their MG42 position. It's pretty much common sense
as to how to get there, use smoke to conceal your movement, then use grenades
to take out a few of them before moving in with your auto and clearing up.
Once everyone's dead you'll pass the mission.

M I S S I O N W A L K T H R O U G H
=====================================
From the start of the level, keep to the right and rush towards the German
controlled building. Shoot the red barrel which will explode taking out a good
number of them, then move past it and into the building with the stairs. Head
up each floor wiping out the resistance, and when you get to the top, you'll
be told that an enemy tank is on it's way. You're also told that there may be
anti-tank weapons in the apartment opposite, so make your way back down the
stairs and prepare to run across to the other side of the area, using the
large hill for cover.

Move into the apartment building and enter the bathroom where you'll find the
sticky bombs on the floor. Grab them, and then prepare to engage the tank.
Look out of the window and shoot at all of the Germans below, take out all of
the ones you can see behind the tank, then mantle out of the window and charge
at the tank. Quickly plant the bomb on it, then run back up the hill and get
behind some cover. If you're finding it difficult to avoid the enemy fire when
doing this, you could throw a smoke grenade into the tank area and wait for it
to fill up the area although you will need a few later on in the level.

Once the tank blows up, you'll move through the apartment building where four
Germans will be waiting for you in the next corridor. Just wipe them out with
your PPSh and proceed through the next few rooms with your comrades. Ignore the
Russians shooting at the Germans opposite and move straight through the next
doorway and into the room at the end. You now need to move across the street
below and clear out the German controlled building, which has a good fifteen
or so enemies inside. The best way I've found of doing this is to smoke the
area right in front of the building and then run across to the left, throwing
grenades into the doorway, before flanking to the right and doing the same.
Then just move in and finish off the last few on the bottom floor with a PPSh.
This is rather hard on the later difficulties so it could take a good deal of
luck, but smoke grenades are one of the most important parts to success in
this area.

Once you've cleaned out the bottom floor, head towards the stairs and prepare
to take out another four or so Germans up here. You should have picked up some
grenades from dead Germans below, so throw a few of them up there, then move
up and pick off the last few Germans.

Move through into the next room and get on the MG42 to the right. Use it to
wipe out the Germans to the right, a few in the center of the street, and
eventually the ten to fifteen in the building to the left. Keep pouring the
shells on the Germans and eventually your comrades will blow up the ammo
supply depot. Straight after that a Panzer tank will make it's way towards
you, so get off the MG42 and move back in the room.

After two or three shells against your building, the wall will explode, so
immediately run to it and drop down, then move to the right. Watch out for
the German on the balcony to the right, then head around the back of the wall
and move in a flanking action behind the tank. This area is swarming with
Germans and you'll probably need to use a lot of grenades, firing, then taking
cover to move closer, although a few smoke grenades will help a good deal.

Take out the Germans as you try to catch up with the tank. If you threw enough
smoke you should pretty much be safe from German fire, but the tank moves
pretty darn fast so you'll need to do something special to catch it. Once you
do, take cover in a building or behind an object until it blows. Help your
squad pick off the remaining Germans, then move through past the far wall, into
the building on the left and up the stairs, where you'll pass this part of the
mission.

From here use your rifle to pick off any remaining Germans, but reinforcements
will arrive until you can secure the MG42 area, so you'll need to head down the

flush out the enemies, then just rush the remaining ones with your PPSh. Once
you reach the MG42, proceed around the corner and move across to the right and
head towards the concrete road blocks.

Three Germans will make their way towards you, so either spray them down or use
a grenade to take them out, then move in behind the destroyed halftrack. Throw
a grenade behind the sandbags to the right where a few Germans will be then
move in and take out the rest. Head through the building and plant your

move through the smoke into the next room where you'll pass the mission.

Move through the first few rooms taking out the enemies who are for the most
part hidden behind obstacles. Move upstairs once they're all dead and grab the
sniper rifle from the floor. One of your comrades will trick the enemy sniper
into shooting his helmet, then you'll know his position and can take him out.
It'll vary each time you play the mission, so listen to what you're told and
use the 'hold breath' feature to steady your aim as you fire at the sniper.
Once he's dead, climb the ladder and prepare to move into the next building
where you'll have to secure the top and bottom floors from the Germans.

Move in slowly and use a machine gun to spray the enemies as you move through
the top floor rooms. There'll be about ten Germans to clear out, then about
five downstairs. Once you've got them all head back upstairs where you'll be
informed of a German attack coming for the City Hall. You'll need to help your
comrades defend the building from four waves of German attackers.

Find a good vantage point, usually at the far left or right windows, and pull
out your Sniper Rifle ready to shoot at any Germans rushing towards. Your main
objective here is to take out the portable MG42 soldiers who are trying to move
their guns into a position where they can fire at your building. You'll be able
to spot them from the large gun they're carrying, but if you can't take them
out before they can deploy you'll need to pick them off once they start
shooting. Watch out specifically for them.

You'll also want to fire at the other waves of Germans moving forward too, but
the MG42 gunners are some of the most important enemies that you need to take
out. Ensure you eliminate the MG42 gunners in the far buildings when they
appear too, because they have pretty good accuracy and can make a mess of you
real quick.

Keep pouring on your ammo, and after the third wave you'll notice enemies
starting to get into your building. Use an auto to pick them off as they make
their way up the stairs, and after a few seconds you'll be told of a halftrack
which is moving in too. Head into the main upstairs room and swap your sniper
rifle for the Panzerschreck anti-tank weapon at the back of the room, then when
the halftrack stops in front of your building, use it to take it out. Once
that's gone just keep firing at any remaining Germans both in your building and
outside, and eventually you'll pass the final mission in the reasonably short
Russian campaign.

You're in charge of a Crusader Tank, which is an amazingly fast piece of
machinery. From the start of the level just move forward at top speed through
the small town. Ignore the hundreds of Germans running all over the place, or
feel free to go "Grand Theft Auto" on them and mash them into the ground with
your tank. Either way they can't harm you, so you can do what you like.

Follow the star on your compass and make sure you're always following the lead
tank in formation. As you move over the top of the ridge you'll get ready to
charge at the waiting German tanks. their guns are much more powerful than
yours from long range. Although they're slow moving, they can shoot you from
much further away than you can shoot. That's why you've got to drive straight
into them and blast them from close range.

Follow the lead tank as you start getting shot at, it'll be marked with the
star on your compass and as you get closer and closer to the shining grey
German tanks, look at them with the turret. If the crosshair goes red, you're
within range. Keep moving straight forward at full speed and take out the tank
to the right. It'll usually take three direct hits to blow it up, then take out
the closest one on the left, and the one further up the hill on the right.

Move up past the destroyed tank to the right and go around the back of the
ridge there, then come up behind the three German tanks to the other side of
that. They seem to blow up quicker with a direct hit to the back so try to
take all three out as quickly as possible, then move along the ridge in that
direction where you'll come across three more tanks. Using the same tactics,
just rush at them and fire, then move through and behind them in order to
take them out.

Once all three are gone, you'll need to head back to the other end of the area
eliminating any tanks which remain. There should only be one or two, then
you're finished what was a fun, but reasonably short and simple mission.

This is another tank driving mission, and another relatively simple but fun
mission. Once again you need to remember that your tank doesn't have the turret
range that the enemies have, so you need to move in close before you can
successfully attack them.

Follow the squadron up the hill to the South East. Once you're in range, take
out the two German tanks who'll move towards you, then blast the Flak 88 to
destroy it. Watch out for the Germans in the trenches with anti-tank weapons
though, as they can make a mess of your tank pretty quickly.

Move along the ridge and over the next hill where you'll find a good five or so
German tanks and a few Flak 88's to take out. Stay at the top of the hill and
pour your shells into everything until you can see nothing else on the compass,
then move in and take out the Flak guns marked by the star. Head around to the
next ridge and destroy the German truck, as well as any of the soldiers you
feel like wasting, then blow up the Flak guns around here.

Keep to the right and move up around and up the next ridge, running over any
Germans with your tank and shooting the truck trying to escape. Move down the
hill where you'll find two or three German tanks moving in. You should be able
to take them out without any trouble, then move up to the right and across onto
the next ridge. You'll see two tanks pretty close to take out, a Flak gun to
the right and a pile of ammunition boxes in the center. It goes without saying
that you should blow the hell out of all of these, then move down the hell on
the far side to take out another ammo dump, flak gun and one final tank before
passing the mission.

Immediately jump on the MG42 at the window and pour out the bullets at all of
the Germans you can see in the area. They'll be rushing the building from all
sides, below and above, so keep spraying in all directions using the fuel
barrel explosions to your advantage. You can't really kill everyone, so keep
pouring it on until a heavy armoured car moves into the area and Price tells
you to get down.

Quickly drop the MG and move to the back of the room and go prone. The car will
fire shells through the walls of the building on two occasions, then Price
decides the time is right to get the hell out of there.

You'll head the door start to shake behind you, so turn around and wait for two
Germans to knock it down, before they're met with a hail of bullets from your
Thompson. Move down the stairs and kill the two Germans behind the table, and
one outside the door, then take cover from the tank behind the crates.

Follow Price and the guys down the alleyway to the right then take out any
Germans in the area before rushing into the small building to the left. If
there are a lot of enemies here, use a smoke grenade to conceal your movement,
then sneak past the side of the armoured car and take out the gunner. Captain
Price will remove the dead body, then you'll be able to get in the gunners seat
and fire the rather powerful flak from it's cannon. Be very aware that the gun
will overheat, so you'll need to ensure you only fire in full auto for a few
seconds before letting it cool down. Shoot at the big selection of Germans
rushing towards your vehicle, in particular to the ones at the left who have
anti-tank weapons in their possession.

Keep firing at the Germans around the tank as Price and MacGregor have another
funny conversation and you'll eventually get moving. Once you move around the
corner take out the halftrack that'll smash through a wall, then around the
next corner make sure you take out the Panzerschreck German on the roof before
he takes you out.

You'll move through a few different streets, coming across various enemies, but
the most important thing is to take out the Panzerschreck enemies on the
rooftops. You'll always be told when there are anti-tank enemies, so listen to
MacGregor and Price all of the time. The mission is pretty straight forward as
it's a truck-on-rails section, so all you need to do is aim and shoot at the
enemies. Listen to what you're told to do, such as shooting the tank from
behind as you proceed through the different alleyways and roads. Always make
sure you take out the Panzerschreck Germans as soon as possible.

Keep firing at the various trucks you come across, and just after the planes
fly overhead, your truck will be wiped out. After you recover from the
shellshock move into the building to the right and shoot the three Germans
who'll come to visit in their car. After that move along the alleyway to the
right and kill the German at the end, then the two or three at the top of the
stairs. Continue along the road straight forward and meet up with some more
British soldiers. You need to head straight along the road, through the German
defences, and I think the best way to do this is with smoke grenades and frag
grenades, as well as a bit of Thompson spraying.

There'll be three or four Germans who come around the corner from the right, so
frag or spray them, then continue around the corner to the left where you'll
come across six or so Germans behind the destroyed tank. Use the same tactic,
flush them out with grenades and shoot them, and once they're all gone, run to
the truck as you escape from Toujane.

Once the tank is blown up, jump off and move in front of your tank across the
road to the left. I know the right alley way would seem like the easier choice,
but trust me, it's definitely not. That way is incredibly hard compared to how
easily you can flank the first Flak gun position by heading through the
alleyways from the left. You'll probably flank a few Germans behind the truck
too, so take them out, then proceed down another alleyway and shoot the fuel
barrels to take out the MG42 gunners. Head up to the Flak gun where you'll
secure the area, then get ready to fight a few Germans who will make their way
down from the top of the street.

Once you've killed them, head to the left of the building and start rifling the
Germans on the rooftop in the next area. Take out the four or five on the roof,
then use grenades to wipe out the five or so behind the various obstacles down
there. Move in once it's all clear, but watch out along the street to the right
where you may come across another five Germans heading in.

Climb up the ladder and make your way along the roof before dropping down in
the next alleyway. Follow your squad over the wall and around the corner, then
engage the Germans in the small room to the left. As soon as you take them all
out, run in, and use the room for cover from the ten or so Germans who'll rush
into the area. Make sure you take out the Germans to the right of the room,
then pick off the new Germans to the left, behind the haystacks.

Follow the road straight forward and then get a grenade next to the Flak gun to
clear out that, then prepare to engage about ten to fifteen Germans who'll come
from all sides to try and kill your squad. Take out any you can see from where
you are, then fall back down the street, taking out any Germans who may have
flanked you, and head along the road to the right, allowing you to effectively
flank the Germans you just attracted to the other street. Take out the MG42
gunner and any more Germans in this area, then move in and secure the Flak 88.

Move up the ramp and around the next area, taking cover behind the crates. Move
your way along the wall and throw smoke in front of the German tank. Run past
it and head along the alleyway to the left. Come back down that street a short
way, then use a grenade or two and clear out the five to ten Germans by the
Flak gun. Move in with your Thompson and clean up the area, then secure the 88
and continue along the street to the left.

Throw a grenade at the Germans at the next Flak gun, then quickly move in
spraying to ensure they don't throw it back. Kill the few Germans further up
the street then secure the gun and keep moving along. Head through the
alleyways taking out the ten or so Germans as you go, then as usual, throw two
or three grenades at the last Flak gun and clean up with an automatic. Once the
last gun is secured you'll be told to head to the mosque, so make your way to
the star on the compass and prepare to fight some more Germans.

Use a rifle to pick off the ten or so Germans on the mosque balcony, then move
up when it's safe and get on the MG42. After a few seconds a number of Germans
will move in from the streets straight ahead, and to the right. Give them a
quick spray with the MG42 and your reinforcements will arrive very quickly,
allowing you to complete the mission.

M I S S I O N W A L K T H R O U G H
=====================================
Well let me start by saying the start of this mission is the most ridiculously
hard start to any mission is any game I've ever played. Your jeep is taken out
of commission, and then about twenty Germans on the rooftops have you trapped
in a tiny alleyway, constantly shooting at you. You have about thirty seconds
which you need to keep them under fire for while the gate is opened so you can
escape, and there is literally no real cover to use. I don't even have any real
advice for this bit, it's just completely stupid.

Try to go prone behind the blown up jeep and pop up firing rifle shots at the
Germans closest to you, but if you're playing on veteran, it's going to take a
hell of a lot of luck to get through this. I think I was stuck here for a good
half an hour without being able to do anything but die.

Anyway, try to take out as many Germans as you can, and eventually the gate
will be opened allowing you to escape. Once you do, immediately go prone behind
the wall and let your squad catch up. Keep popping up and firing off rifle
shots at the Germans behind the sandbags and crates in the distance. There are
also a number of Germans to the left too. Your best chance is probably to smoke
the area and run to the right, keeping behind the wall. Move directly across
the road and then pick off the Germans from alongside them.

Once you've cleared out the few in front of the wall from before, shoot the
ones to the left, then make your way carefully around the corner and engage
the Germans around there, paying particular attention to the MG42 gunner at
the back. Once that area's cleared, move through the arch thing and throw some
grenades at the enemies behind the wall to the left. Move behind the sandbags
where the MG42 gunner was, then look down the street and try to pick off any
enemies before your squad throws smoke.

Once the smoke fills the road, move down quickly and take cover behind the end
wall. Pop up and spray at the five or so Germans who'll come from the left and
then try to move up the stairs just ahead and look out of the window where
you'll be able to take out five or so Germans down there. Once the area looks
secure, head back down and follow your squad around to the left. A halftrack
will provide suppressing fire on you, but it will eventually retreat around the
corner, as your tanks make their way through the streets to meet up with you.

Follow the tank along the road, and as it gets about half way, move to the
right and take cover behind the wall. From there, pick off the Germans to the
left and right sides of the street, mainly around the halftrack area, then move
in behind where the halftrack is and stay in cover as the German planes fly
down the street. Your tank will be taken out, so you'll need to move down the
rest of the street on foot, and fight about five more Germans as you approach
the entrance to the anti-aircraft area.

Take them out with grenades or your Thompson, and use grenades to wipe out the
Flakvierling anti-aircraft gunners. Quickly try to dispose of any more Germans
in the AA gun area, then run to the large gun and use it to shoot the Germans
on the balcony in front of it. After they're all dead, get off the gun and
switch to a rifle, and pick off the Germans on the next balcony along.

Once they're gone the Germans will appear on the next balcony along to the
right, so take most of them out, then you'll be told to defend the area
against the enemy planes using the AA gun. Get back on it and look straight
forward and shoot all of the planes as they make their way down. Shoot them
just as they're starting to dip ready to fire at you. Always go to the biggest
looking plane first, obviously the one closest to you. You may have to switch
back and forth from the planes to the left and right to do this.

After you've taken all ten or so planes down, it's mission passed, and finally
an end to the campaign in North Africa.

and the cinematic feel really puts you in the heat of the battle.

After the boat ride onto the beaches, quickly move onto the sand where you'll
be struck down by an explosion. If you stay on the boat for more than five
seconds you'll die instantly from artillery so move. After a few seconds you'll
be picked up and eventually will be able to continue along the beach. Keep as
close to the cliff-face as you can to minimise the chance of being hit by enemy
fire, and continue along until you find a rope that you can climb up.

Once you reach the top, make your way into the trenches to the left, and head
along them taking out the four or so Germans there. You should reach the bunker
at the end and find it empty, head back along the trench and go to the left.
Follow it around and kill any Germans in it, then you'll go under an MG42 about
half way. Try to pop up and take them out, then continue along the trench.

You'll reach the end and find it blocked off. Luckily one of your squad mates
has the right idea and tells you to use a smoke grenade for cover. Throw the
smoke right at the MG42 bunker. Once it fills the area, mantle up the side of
the trench and run down the left hand side of the bunker, keeping in the large
craters. Pop up and shoot the MG42 gunner on the left, then move into his
position and move down the trench.

Take out the five or so Germans in the trench, then move towards the bunker.
As you reach the end of the trench, five Germans will make their way towards
you, so pop up and fire a few rifle shots into each of them, then move up and
kill the MG42 gunner in the bunker. Immediately turn around and watch to the
right for three or four Germans who will come up the stairs from below. Take
them out before they get you then move through the craters and meet up with
Sergeant Randall.

After the radio operator calls in artillery, about six Germans will run across
just along from your position. Help your squad pick them off and then move
through the arch into the small town. Move towards the center building, then
look into the doorway to the right and pick off three Germans. Your squad will
move in through the door and clear up any others. I'd suggest going to the
broken wall on the left and commandeering the 30 Cal from one of your squad
mates and using that to pick off any Germans you can see in the area ahead.

Once it looks clear, move over the broken wall and head behind the buildings to
the left. Completely flank all of the buildings and come up behind the
roadblock at the end. Jump over it, then carefully lean into the doorway and
prepare to grenade, or shoot a good five or so Germans who are visible from
this position. There'll usually be one or two to the left of the first room,
one or two to the left in the far room and usually one on the stairs.

Do your best to take them out, and then move up stairs and clear out the top
floor. Once that's done move back down and head out the back door with your
squad. Move into the orchard and take position behind the wall to the left. I'd
say go all of the way along the wall and then come up so you can see the back
of the halftrack that makes it's way in. Spray down all of the Germans who pop
out of the back then head further along to the left, taking out any more
Germans who are behind the various walls.

Once it's all clear, move along to the far end of the orchard and out onto the
road. Follow Sgt. Randall along the smaller road and make your way into the
field on the right. Move to each of the guns and plant your thermite grenades
at the back of each of them. Surprisingly, you'll encounter no enemy resistance
here, so move quickly, but you've got nothing to fear. After you've got them
all, head back to Sgt. Randall and follow him back to the main road.

You'll be told that the Commanding Officer wants all of the Germans on the
Pointe to be wiped out, so you need to move back into the battlefield and kill
off the rest of them. As you move through to orchard again, about five Germans
will appear behind the far wall, so make sure you pick them off, then take out
the five to ten in the left field, just next to that big house.

Head through the house, then mantle over the roadblock to the right and flank
around the houses like you did before. From your new position, pick off the ten
or so Germans in this area, then head through the arch and join up with your
soldiers in the craters. Make your way across, taking cover every time you need
to, and meet up with your main guys at the gate. After a few seconds it'll be
blown open, then you can move in.

Quickly head to the left and take cover in the craters, then try to clear out
the Germans behind the sandbags and move into their position. Head off down the
trench killing around ten more Germans and make your way to the bunker. Move in
and kill three Germans around this area, then probably a good five or so more
in the trenches in front. Move out the back of the bunker and climb up the
trench, making your way over to the guns to the left. From there move into the
next trench down and sneak along it.

Keep going until you reach another large concrete object, then get a few
grenades into the nearest bunker as there are five Germans inside it. Move in
and clear up to secure this bunker, then prepare to make your way to the final
one. Head down the steps to the left and move along the tunnel system before
engaging with the four Germans in the room to the left. Watch out as you head
up the few steps at the other end as there is a German MG42 gunner looking
through a porthole in the wall, and another German on an MG just to the right.
You could either use a smoke grenade to allow you un-seen access into their
bunker, where you can wipe out the five or so Germans in there, or use a few
grenades and finish everyone off with your Thompson. Once they're all dead,
move back up top and meet up with Sgt. Randall to pass part one of the greatest
mission in history.

As a strange little note, watch how Sgt. Randall some how radio's a message to
HQ without an actual radio in his hand or on his back. Maybe he's got a built
in mic in his Thompson?

• Fall back and defend the Pointe.
• Defend the Pointe until support arrives.
• Deploy green smoke to mark friendly location.

=====================================
M I S S I O N W A L K T H R O U G H
=====================================
Immediately head to the South and commandeer the fixed machine gun position.
Use it to mow down the waves of Germans who will be making their way towards
you. Keep up the fire for a good minute or two, killing all Germans who get
near, then you'll be told to help defend the west roadblock. Take cover behind
the crates and fire at the Germans with your M1 Garand. You could use a few
grenades to help take out a big selection of them, however they'll keep coming
anyway, so my best advice is to just conserve your ammo and keep yourself in
cover, firing at any Germans who give you a clear shot.

Keep fighting them and pretty soon a halftrack will move in. Keep in cover and
dispose of the Germans who come out of it, then keep shooting at what seems
like hundreds of Germans swarming around the corner. Eventually a tank will
move in from the other end of the street, and as it starts to get closer your
squad will decide it's not safe to stay, so move into the orchard and take
cover behind the wall marked with the star on the compass.

Pop up and fire at the Germans rushing through the bushes into your position.
Use grenades to keep them back, and make sure they don't flank you. Your squad
will do a decent job of picking them off too, so take cover a lot if you get
hit. After about two minutes you'll be told to fall back into the building and
use the machine gun for covering fire as the guys retreat. Run into the
building and head to the top floor, right window where you'll find the 30 Cal.
Pour on the ammo at the Germans who will be marked with a red crosshair on your
screen. Take out as many as you can see, then when the tank starts shooting at
you, get off the machine gun and head downstairs.

Shoot the crazy German who busts open the door, then the few to the right of
the roadblock, then immediately rush towards the second building down and move
through it. Kill four Germans who'll come from the right, then three to five
who will be stationed to the left, then jump over the broken wall and make your
way down the main path towards the bunkers.

Head straight into the trench, then get on the MG42 at the end and use it to
take down the tens of Germans rushing from the left road, and the right arch
way. When the tank gets a bit too close for comfort, run down the trench
towards the bunker, ignoring your orders to provide suppressing fire. A few
seconds later you'll be told to fall back and help out at the next bunker, so
make your way down the trenches and regroup with the other soldiers. You'll be
informed that reinforcements are on their way from Omaha Beach, as well as some
air cover, but they're a good five minutes away, and you've got to defend the
Pointe on foot until then.

Stay in the concrete circle thing and use the walls for cover for about another
two minutes. Kill the many Germans who'll come through the trenches from the
right, and throw almost a constant supply of grenades to the Germans coming
from straight ahead. You'll be told to fall back to the final bunker, and
usually you'd think getting inside the bunker would give you the best chance of
survival, which I suppose it does, for now, however my advice is to go on top
of the bunker where you'll have a nice supply of ammo and grenades.

Stay prone, then pop up firing off rifle shots and throwing grenades at the
Germans coming from all over. With about a minute left of the reinforcement
countdown you'll be told to deploy green smoke on the top of the bunker, and if
you're inside, you'll have a pretty hard job getting up here, which is why I
said to just defend the whole bunker from this position. Trigger the smoke
which will be right next to you, then keep pouring on the ammo as you await the
air strike on the enemy units.

After the tanks have been blown up and the remaining enemy soldiers have been
picked off watch the reinforcements arrive, and listen to the emotional music
with a speech from Reagan. You've successfully captured and held Pointe du Hoc
and in doing so, have completed arguably the most well made single player
mission in any war game ever.

• Help the reinforcements clear the area of any remaining enemies.
• Debrief with Sgt. Randall.

=====================================
M I S S I O N W A L K T H R O U G H
=====================================
After listening to the mission briefing, follow your squad through the bushes
and stop at the hill where McCloskey sets up his 30 Cal. Pull out your Sniper
Rifle, and when the guys start moving in, pick off the MG42 gunners in the
window to the right, behind the sandbags to the left, and in the hedgerow to
the back left. Then pick off the other Germans who'll rush in for about a
minute. Remember to hold your breath when shooting, and it looks like the game
will go in slow motion when you hold your breath on this mission which improves
your accuracy quite a lot.

Once you've secured the area, move in with the other guys who were providing
support fire, then regroup by the building. This is probably the most
non-linear mission in the game. You now have to capture a whole town full of
Germans one building at a time. Seeing as there's no set way to complete this
mission I'll attempt to walk you through it what I consider the simplest order
so after meeting up at the building, you'll be heading towards the stone farm
house first.

Some good advice here is to swap your sniper rifle for a Kar98k and your Colt
for an MP40 or MP44 from the Germans you killed before near the flak gun. Once
you've got them, sneak behind the blown up halftrack and get alongside the wall
where you'll be able to shoot the fuel barrels and take out a few Germans. Head
to the left and carefully make your way towards the back entrance of the farm
house. You'll see about four Germans in there, so get a few grenades in, then
rush the rest and spray them before they can get back up.

Move through the bottom of the building and throw a few grenades into the rooms
on the right. There are a good ten or so Germans here and if you run straight
in you won't have much chance at all of survival. Once the grenades explode,
move in quickly and take care of any Germans left, room by room. After
downstairs is secured, move upstairs and immediately prepare to kill a German
who will stick his head out of the doorway. Move to the left and kill anyone in
this room, then throw a grenade in the room to the right and move in. There'll
be a German directly to the right as you go in, and two behind the overturned
table, so waste them and you should have secured the first building.

Look out of the window where you'll see five or so Germans moving in behind the
wall outside. Help your squad pick them off, then move out of the downstairs
door and take cover behind the wall as a few more Germans move around. Rush
behind the crates to the left and use the cover to your advantage as you lean
out and pick off any Germans you can see in the headquarters building.

As usual, get your grenades through the windows and doors before moving in. You
pretty much have an unlimited supply because one in every three or so Germans
will drop more for you, so don't be scared to spam the Germans with explosives.
Once they've blown, run in and kill any Germans in there, then make your way to
the room at the left. Kill the German in here, and then any more you can see at
the other end of the bottom floor. If it's all secure, prepare to move
upstairs. As you do, throw a grenade or two into the doorway straight ahead,
and bounce a few off the door frame to the right. Watch out for Germans who
will come from the left and right too, but if you have a machine gun, they
shouldn't be too much bother. Check to see if the end room is secure, then
move through the next room and clear out the few gunners up here. That should
result in the building being secure, so head back downstairs.

Before you head outside, head into the small room downstairs. If you're in the
right one, you'll notice a piano. I guess this can be considered a secret, but
if you use the action button on it, it'll play a different note depending on
what key you're looking at. Hardly the time in the middle of a battle to write
a new song, but I'm sure if you get bored of slaughtering Germans you could
try to make a decent tune to keep yourself amused.

Anyway, move out the back of the headquarters and move towards the building on
the left, watching out for any fire coming from Germans in the street, and to
the right. Get a grenade in the top window as you move in the back door then
get a grenade in the main downstairs room. Once it blows, move in and clean up,
check the other downstairs rooms, then move upstairs, perhaps with a few more
grenades going in first. Quickly clear out the few rooms upstairs then get on
the MG42 in the room to the left and use it to kill a number of Germans in
front of the post office to the right.

Head back out the back door and move into the next building along. Throw a
grenade into the main room there and clean up with your auto, then move
upstairs and take out the three Germans in there as quickly as you can. That
building should not be secure, and next up is the post office to the left.

Move into the porch and look through the windows to see if any Germans are
downstairs. Obviously if you see any, give them a few shots in the face and
move in. Upstairs is hard to clear out because there's a lot of Germans.
There'll usually be one right at the top of the stairs, so kill him, then
bounce grenades into the room to the right, and after going about half-way up
the stairs, throw grenades into the left room. Rush into them both and finish
off any wounded Germans then proceed back downstairs and go around behind the
building.

Throw a grenade into the main doorway into the barn, then lean in looking to
the left and pick off any enemies you can see. You'll probably be better off
using two grenades at the bottom end of the barn as the enemies down there are
well behind cover. Run down to the end and finish off any Germans, then proceed
towards the steps. Look up in the roof for any Germans who may be shooting at
you, then rush up the stairs and spray any remaining enemies to secure the
final building.

Meet up with the squad outside and you'll be told to climb to the top of the
Silo and watch for a counter attack. Climb it, then when the other two guys
make their way up, grab the flashing sniper rifle from the floor. You'll now
have to defend the town against artillery firing Germans. They'll show up as
a star on the compass, so always look to the next star. Ideally, take out the
German who is carrying the mortars before he can deploy, otherwise you'll need
to take out both of the Germans who fire them at you. Keep spinning around,
taking out all of the enemy mortar teams, and keep it up for about five
minutes. If you've successfully defended yourself from the mortars, you'll
still be in one piece and you'll have a pretty good idea how hard it is to
capture a town under enemy control.

The sniping section of the mission really isn't too hard once you understand
exactly what you're supposed to be doing. After a few tries, you should be able
to take down all of the artillery crews before they can even launch a shell at
you. Eventually some Sherman tanks will make their way into the town and wipe
out the rest of the Germans, then you just need to head down the ladder and
meet up with your squad.

Run behind the orchard walls and fire at the Germans in the distance with your
rifle. A big number of them will then rush towards you, so head along to the
left and take cover behind the end of the wall. Use a grenade or two to help
take some of them out by the truck, then use your Sten for the Germans who have
gotten a bit too close. Once they're all gone, flank around the bushes to the
left and fire upon the Germans in the broken building. After you kill a few of
them, rush into it with your Sten and pick off any more enemies there. You need
to get inside fast as the Germans are shelling the area.

Once you get in, take cover from the MG42 fire which MacGregor will eventually
put an end to, then rush across below the MG42 building, and move into the next
building along to the right. Kill the five or so Germans in there and the three
upstairs, then look out of the back window and kill the mortar team and the
twenty or so German soldiers who will take up various defensive positions. Use
your grenades to flush out the hard areas and your rifle to pick them off. Once
it looks reasonably secure, move downstairs and go through the broken hole in
the wall, then kill any Germans you come across through here.

Flank around the end building and kill the one or two Germans who are usually
here, then throw some grenades towards the building straight ahead. Move into
it and clear out all of the rooms, then kill the two mortar people in the
garden, and the German officer 'camping' in the corner to the left.

Move back out the front of the building and engage about ten Germans behind the
wall to the right, paying particular attention to the MG42 gunner. Use grenades
and smoke if you need it, then rush up to them and clear out any last Germans
with your sten. Throw smoke towards the German building at the end of the
street, then move into the first enterable building on the right and clear it
out. Head upstairs and from the window you should be able to take out the MG42
gunner. Once you've got him, sneak around the sandbags and into the house,
killing all of the Germans that you come across.

Follow Price out of the back door where you'll come across the only two Germans
in the game who you don't have to brutally slaughter. They surrender, and show
you that they've been looking after wounded Americans. Whether they were
looking after them, or keeping them as prisoners is another matter, but the
fact is that you've got to rescue them. You need a truck to help transport
them, so you and MacGregor need to head back to the orchard and grab the German
truck from there.

Follow MacGregor as he moves through the ruins on the way back to the truck. As
you reach the end of the first area three Germans will climb over the wall, but
they should be easily disposed of by your auto. Throw a grenade into the
doorway of the building just around the corner where there are two Germans
firing at you, then follow MacGregor all the way back to the truck and get in
the back, swapping your rifle for the Panzerschreck anti-tank weapon.

Just as you go around the corner, spray your auto at the red fuel barrels to
take out a few of the Germans shooting at you, then spray at the next two or
three, and finally the three who run across in front of the tank. Switch to the
Panzerschreck and fire shots at the tank to take it out. You'll need to hit it
three times before it goes up in flames, so do it quick before it's you that's
burning in a heap.

Jump off the truck and meet up with Captain Price to complete the mission.

Run up the street and enter the building to the right, taking out a good five
or so Germans in here. Once it's secure you can have another play around on the
piano, but I'm sure you've got more important things to do. Head out through
the garage, and smoke the house at the end to cover yourself from the MG42,
then run up towards it, and take out the Germans in the ruins to the left. As
soon as you kill them, run to the left side of the German building and enter
it, then move through the back rooms and take out all of the Germans in there.

A German tank is moving in, and you need to take it out. Another five or so
troops will enter the house, so kill them then head upstairs and swap one of
your guns for the Panzerschreck. Shoot down on the tank two to three times and
it'll blow, but watch out for Germans coming up the stairs as you reload it.
Once it's blown, go back outside and meet with Captain Price in the ruins.

Mantle over the broken wall and enter the building on the left, where you'll
need to take out about three Germans next to another piano which you can play.
Kill the Germans outside too, then move out of the door you came in and check
out the next building. Head upstairs and throw a grenade into each of the
downstairs right and upstairs right windows, and one by the MG42 gunner, then
move into that building and clear it out. Head along the street into the next
building and spray down all of the Germans in there, then make your way up the
road and take cover next to Captain Price.

A halftrack will move in, which will then be taken out by a fellow squad mate.
Once it's gone, rush up the street and enter the building at the end. Shoot at
the Germans behind the trees and objects in the grassy area outside, and keep
up the fire for a minute or two. Fall back to the star on the compass and you
should be told to check out the farm house for any last Germans, so follow your
squad along the road and meet up with them at the gate.

Throw a smoke grenade through the gate towards the building straight ahead. A
German will get on the MG42 on the top floor, and he'll make a nice mess of
your body with a clear line of sight. Once the smoke has filled the area, flank
around the back of the house from the right and move in carefully, killing
everyone downstairs. Move up and clear out the room to the right, and the MG
room and you'll be told to check out the barn for enemy radios.

Coincidentally, there just happens to be a few in there, along with about five
Germans. Go around the back of the barn and kill the first German who will be
facing the wrong way. Use grenades and spraying techniques to take out the
other four, then shoot or bash the radios to destroy them, and immediately run
towards the MG42 planted at the window.

The Germans are counter attacking, and you need to hold them off. You can do
that pretty effectively from your position on the MG42, so just stay there
firing in all directions at the Germans who will come over the wall. Jump off
the MG and crouch down if a grenade is thrown in front of you, but other than
that, don't move from that position.

Keep firing until all of the attack waves have ended, then when the Tiger tank
moves in, move away from the window and take cover. Eventually it'll be
destroyed and you can move out to the crossroads once again to greet the convoy
that has just arrived.

From the start of the mission, run along the road and head through the broken
fence to the right. Move up to the severely damaged wall and fire at the
Germans in the window of the building in front of you. Once you take out two or
so, whip out your Sten and move in. Kill the German by the stairs on the bottom
floor and the two upstairs, then head back outside and along the alleyway.

Shoot the few Germans who expose themselves at the windows here, then again
move in with your Sten and clean up. Downstairs should be pretty simple but
there are a few more Germans upstairs, so move carefully. Once they're all dead
head back down and regroup with the squad outside.

Jump over the wall and run past the tank, alongside the town hall. Before you
actually make your way over to it, throw a grenade into the top window which
will hopefully take out some of the resistance. Head around to the back of the
building watching out for an MG42 gunner on the back left window then take out
the downstairs back room Germans. Head through either side downstairs and
prepare to fight ten or so Germans in the front room. I'd suggest shooting as
many as you can from one magazine of Sten ammo, then throwing two or three
grenades and falling back to reload.

By this time, Germans will probably have started coming from upstairs, so take
them out and run back into the front room to clear up those and pick up some
grenades. Jump out of the window and run around the back of the building again
to surprise some of the Germans waiting for you, then head upstairs and clean
out the balcony from any last Germans.

Once the building is secure, you need to make your way to the next objective,
the post office. First of all you'll need to head through a very well defended
garden area behind a broken down wall. As you move around, about twenty Germans
will move into various positions. Now would be a great time to use a smoke
grenade. Let the smoke build up, then throw frag grenades in the direction of
the Germans on the grass. Run across into the building to the far side of the
garden and enter it. Use it for cover, and shoot at the Germans coming from the
left.

If you're feeling brave, run out of the building and jump over the wall at the
end, killing all of the Germans down here. Once they're gone, move into the
next building and secure both floors, then move to the back window on the top
floor and get grenades in the building opposite. When the Germans all appear to
be wiped out, mantle out of the window and rush the building, killing the last
few remaining enemies. You've now secured the post office.

Move out the back and around the corner past the dead cows. As you get further
along the road, two Germans will come around the far corner. Take them out,
then carefully but quickly lean out around the corner and take down as many of
the ten or so Germans as possible. When you run out of a magazine throw a few
grenades and fall back to reload. Wipe out the last Germans here and capture
the Flak 88.

Next you'll need to capture the small building between you and the church. You
can get it by tossing grenades into both top floor windows, then entering the
side entrance and wiping out the suppressed Germans by the main entrance. Head
upstairs and use your rifle to pick off the Germans outside the church, then
move outside and go around the back right side of the church. Throw a few
grenades through the side door, and spray at any Germans you see heading out,
then run around the back and mantle through the window. This should give you
the element of surprise on the Germans and depending on how well you did with
your nades, you should be able to kill the last few Germans and secure the
church. On to the headquarters.

Move out along the road and regroup with your squad near the German
Headquarters. They'll be shooting at the Germans in the small building in the
center of the area. My advice, ignore it. Hopefully you have at least two
smoke grenades left. If so, throw one towards that center building, and one
about half way along the road to the left. Let the smoke move out, then run
like hell towards the building to the left. Kill the few Germans who'll rush
towards the door, then move upstairs quickly and kill the five or so Germans in
here before they know what hit them.

Once the building is secure you can throw grenades out of the side window to
wipe out any Germans outside the HQ, then mantle out of the back window and
rush around the back wall, getting a few grenades into the bottom floor. Search
some dead Germans for more grenades, and throw them anywhere inside the
building that you can see, then move in and prepare for about ten final
Germans. Most of them will come from upstairs, so get ready to nade and spray
in that direction. When everything on the stairs is quiet, move up and clear
out the room to the right. That should be everyone dead, and you've secured the
town of St. Louet.

As soon as the mission starts, run straight forward and slightly to the right,
avoiding the artillery shells. Move into the barn and help your squad take out
the three or so Germans in here then reload your weapons as you wait for the
shelling to stop. Once it does and MacGregor opens the barn door, rush to the
right hand side and take over behind the truck. Throw some grenades at the red
barrels and into the building, then if it looks safe to do so, rush into the
building and take out the enemies on the first floor. You may want to get some
grenades in before you rush in as there's a good five or so down there with
MP40's at the ready.

After you've secured that building, head out the back and continue along past
the broken wall to the right. Get some grenades at the German's MG42 position
to the right, and then carefully but quickly clean out the broken buildings to
the left and move in, using them for cover. Take out any Germans who are
shooting at you from the left from behind the wall over there, and the MG42
gunner at the top of the road if you get a clear shot then head into the next
ruined building to the right. Take out the three or four Germans around here,
then use your rifle to pick off a few Germans in the next building and at the
windows in the next one along.

Once it looks secure, move forward towards the next building and head out to
the right hand side, taking out the halftrack gunner, and a good five or so
Germans who will either be in that area, or run across behind the halftrack.
Move into the next main building and use your Sten to secure the few Germans on
the bottom and top floors, then move to the back, left window and use your
rifle to shoot the red fuel barrel behind the sand bags which will take out a
good few of those Germans. Make sure you take out the MG42 gunner slightly to
the right of that too, then head back downstairs and prepare to take the next
building.

Rush to it's windows and clean out the bottom floor in one hail of Sten
bullets, then check upstairs for a German and secure that building. Usually one
of your squad mates will finish off the mortar team, but to be on the safe side
move into the next and final building along and secure that. Now you need to
take the German's headquarters building so make your way along the road towards
it and prepare for a pretty big battle.

Keep to the right, and rush straight alongside the right bushes and over the
broken wall stopping to fight only if you're being fired upon. Flank your way
around the building and use grenades to help you clear the ten or so Germans at
the back of their headquarters building. Move from cover to cover, and once
you've killed most of the Germans at the back, move in to the bottom floor of
the house and kill the four Germans down here, hidden behind various crates.

Move up the stairs and wipe out any Germans on this floor, then swap your Sten
for an MP44 as you'll probably be short on ammo. Head to the front porch of the
building and get on the MG42. Watch the broken walls to the South, both
straight ahead and to the left, and keep pouring on the bullets in both
directions until the German smoke screen makes it impossible to see what you're
shooting at.

When this happens, run back inside the building and get on the MG42 in the
window to the East. Use that to take down the tens of Germans who will try to
rush past and get behind the building. Watch out for the Germans who move into
the small barn type building and try to shoot at you through the window. Once
the timer runs out you'll be informed of a Tiger tank moving in from the South.
Obviously seeing as you're the most skilled soldier in the whole army, you need
to be the one responsible for taking it out, so prepare to flank left and head
back out the same way you came. Hopefully you've still got your smoke grenades,
because usually I throw all four of mine at this point. Get one on the
headquarters side of the wall, next to the gate you can jump over. One just
over the gate to the right, and then one as far as you can get it in front of
the tank, and one next to the tank.

Take out any Germans on the other side of the gate, then run like hell straight
up towards the building you came through before, then all the way around the
back of the tank. You should be pretty safe with the smoke you threw, so plant
your bomb on the back of the tank, then retreat to cover in the ditch as it
blows up. Once it does the Germans will start to retreat, so pick off any who
are getting close to you, then move to the back of the headquarters and meet
up with Captain Price to complete the final British mission in Call of Duty 2.

From the start of the mission, run straight around the back of the house and
towards the next one along. Fire through the window with your Garand and kill
the two or three Germans you can get from here, then move around the right
side of the house and shoot through the window taking out any more. Head into
the house with a Thompson and kill four or so Germans in the room to the right
then run outside and get on the MG42, using it to take out the Germans behind
the sand bags just in front.

Take cover behind the crates and fire at the Germans in the next building just
down the street. Watch out especially for an MG42 gunner on the top floor. Get
a few grenades in the doorway and windows, then move in and clean up with your
Thompson. Head through the garden into the next building along and secure both
floors there. Upon doing so, one of your squad will set up a 30 Cal on the
window. Commandeer it and use it to take out the twenty or so Germans all over
the area in front of the house and to the left. Once you've killed what looks
like everyone, move into the house opposite and take out any last Germans on
the top floor. Head back down and into the next building and kill all of the
Germans here, then meet up with Sergeant Randall outside.

After he tells you that you need to go through the other buildings because of
the roadblock, you'll be shelled. Run into the building to the right and use
the back window to allow you to shoot at the Germans in the field. Throw a
smoke grenade aimed right at the doorway in the wall leading to the back garden
of the house straight ahead. Once the smoke fills up the area, run straight in
and to the right, taking cover behind the haystacks. Pick off any Germans in
the doorway, then rush in and clear out the building.

As you move out of the back doorway, a number of Germans will come out of a
basement just to the left. Use your Thompson to waste them, then move into the
basement where you'll find some smoke grenades on a crate. Head back out and
throw some smoke towards the Germans building where all of the fire is coming
from, then get close and get a few grenades in through the windows. Move in a
clear up, but watch out for any crazy Germans who'll try to bash your head off.

Move out of the building and meet up with Randall who will kick the door
through of the next building. Luckily there's no one in here, so follow him
towards the squad assembled against a wall. One of your guys will blow out the
wall of the building further along, so quickly head to the right and prepare to
take the Germans out as they come to see what just happened. Rush in and up the
stairs killing the one or two Germans up here, then head back down and finish
off everyone. Move to the side window where you'll see a number of Germans
behind sand bags in the field. Try to take a few of them out with your M1
Garand, then rush outside and take cover with your squad behind the wall to
the left.

Throw a smoke grenade towards the Germans at the side of the building ahead,
then move in and take out the surprising number of Germans behind it. Once you
do, Randall will come over and kick the door open, then one of the other guys
will frag the Germans inside. Once both grenades have exploded, move in quick
and kill the three Germans in the next room, then the two or so upstairs with
your Thompson and look out of the window.

Fire at and kill the ten or so Germans in the area to the back of the church,
and once they're gone, move down and blow up the Panzerwerfer. A few Germans
will run out the left end of the church, so kill them, then head over that way.
Throw a few, or all of your grenades into the church, then move in and clean up
with a Thompson. Run to the left or right and head up the stairs there to kill
two pretty dangerous Germans. Once the area is secure, move outside and meet up
with the guys to pass this reasonably fun mission.

After the confusion at the start of the mission, switch to your Colt. 45 and
run like hell up the hill. If you don't have a Colt because you're continuing
the story, try using the "Restart Level" option in the menu screen as the Colt
will allow you to almost sprint in comparison with any of the other weapons.

Rush up the hill dodging to the left and right and taking cover in the craters
where possible, then move into the crater with the tree for cover. Randall will
tell someone to throw smoke, but don't waste it, he'll throw his own. Once it
fills up the area, rush up to the left hand side of the bunker and plant your
explosives on the door then fall quite a way back so you're not hurt by the
blast.

Get a grenade or two in just after it blows, then move in with your Garand and
clear up. Now I'd advise you to swap your Colt. 45 for an MP40. As you head
back outside in the concrete bunker type thing you'll see another door which
you can blow up. This isn't mission critical, but if you blow it up, you can
find some smoke grenade and frag grenade ammo, as well as an MP44 or a Scoped
Gewehr which is the only semi-automatic sniper rifle that I can remember
seeing in any WW2 game.

Grab the weapons if you want them, I'll stick with my Garand, then head up the
hill a short way and regroup with your guys. They're pinned down by a good ten
to fifteen Germans in a well defended position. What I usually do is smoke
their area, then run down the hill back towards the town until I reach the mine
fields. Head along here and then go up alongside the barbed wire fence and
grenade them, however there may be an easier way to do it than this.

Once you've cleared out this defended area, jump on the MG42 at the end and use
it to shoot at the very few Germans you can actually hit who are below. Once
you've killed all you can, head down the hill slightly and engage the German
troops behind the obstacles. Use the concrete road blocks for cover and throw
all of the grenades you have behind the crates which they're using for cover.

Move in quickly and take out any last Germans with your sub machine gun, then
grab some more grenades and fight the few more Germans by the truck a bit
further along. As you reach the truck you'll be told to throw some smoke, but
once again I'd say keep hold of it, seeing as one of your squad mates will use
their smoke for you. Once it's everywhere, run up towards the bunker and head
around to the side. You'll see a good ten or so Germans to the left who are
trying to see through the smoke. Get a few grenades by them, and get one in the
bunker, then take out any Germans still alive with your Garand.

Plant your explosives on the door and keep back while it blows, then move into
the room on the left and take out the few Germans who will charge at you. Head
through the bunker ensuring it's safe and picking up more grenades, then head
back outside. Just as you're leaving the bunker you may notice another Scoped
Gewehr against some boxes. Take it if you want it then regroup outside.

Head to the right with the other Rangers and you're ready to assault the top of
Hill 400. Once again, I usually keep to the right and follow the minefield all
of the way along using smoke grenades for concealment, and grenades to take out
large sections of enemies. Keep heading around to the right and take out the
mortar team around there, then head up the hill taking out the many Germans
behind the sand bags and make your way towards the halftrack.

Plant your explosives on it, then move into the trench for cover. Head around
the back of the bunker, where there should be some smoke which one of your guys
threw, then get a few grenades out front killing the Germans around there.
Watch out for the MG42 gunner as you move into the bunker and plant your bombs
on the door. Throwing a grenade through the port hole is advised as it'll take
out most of the Germans inside.

Once the door blows, move in and clear out those rooms, then plant your
explosives on the next door. Take cover at the side and then strafe past it
once it's blown throwing two or three grenades in. This should wipe out all of
the Germans inside, then you need to head back upstairs and use your compass to
see if you have any other objectives left to finish. If you do, make your way
over to them. If not, just pick off any remaining Germans and relax.

=====================================
M I S S I O N W A L K T H R O U G H
=====================================
Before I begin, let me state that this is one of the hardest missions on the
game, especially on Veteran, so be prepared for a lot of reloads before you
make it through.

Listen to Randall giving you the objective when you'll be interrupted by
another soldier informing you of a German counter attack. Run outside and
you'll notice an objective on your compass. You've got to snipe the German
mortar teams before they wipe out the rest of your guys. This bit will remind
you a lot of the end of "Silotown", however this time you've got hundreds of
Germans less than a few meters away from you.

The best way to go about this is to get into those small wooden trench things
and use them for cover, then when you have a new location to head towards
switch to a Thompson and make your way alongside the barbed wire taking out any
Germans who are close until you can get a clear shot at the enemy mortar teams.

After five or so mortars go down, you'll need to help your squad clean up the
remaining Germans in the area, so use the planted MG42's, or just your Thompson
and kill them all. Phew, that was pretty hard, right? Well the bad news is that
wasn't even the real attack, they were just testing your defences.

Move back towards the bunker picking up any ammo you can find then take cover
in the Western wooden bunker things. The Germans will completely bomb the hell
out of the area for a good minute or so before they'll make their main attack
on the hill. The West flank is the area which will be penetrated most easily,
so you're over there to keep the enemies at bay.

Stay in the wooden bunkers for cover and pick off any Germans who have made
their way into the defensive perimeter, then when you head news of a halftrack
moving in from the West, go prone in the small ditch to the West. As the
halftracks move past you, jump up and plant your bombs on them. Hopefully you
can survive long enough in the ditch to do this because it's a huge help
getting both of the enemy carriers out of the way before they can even get
outside.

Once they've both been blown, move into another of the wooden trenches for
cover, and most likely to repair your health. Kill any Germans you can see, as
by now they'll probably be all over the place, so watch out in case they try to
enter your bunker or come around behind you. Make your way pretty much around
the whole perimeter, using each bunker for cover, then another halftrack will
come up the West slope. Head around and use the same ditch as you did before to
sneak up behind it and plant the bomb. This time the troops will get out of the
back, so take them out, then get back in the bunker for cover.

As you've probably realised, the main key to surviving this mission is to use
the wooden bunkers for cover as much as possible, and to keep moving around the
area from bunker to bunker, wiping out any Germans who get too close. Keep
fighting the last remaining Germans, and once they're all wiped out you'll
learn that reinforcements are five minutes away. It's probably just some weird
coincidence that whenever you learn about reinforcements moving to help you,
they're five minutes away, but whatever. You need to defend the bunker from a
hell of a lot of Germans while the clock slowly ticks down.

Get into one of the wooden bunkers you should be considering your home by now
and take cover from another huge German artillery barrage. Once it's over,
rush to the most Northern bunker and hold that position. Use the MG42 on the
wall in front of you to kill any Germans moving up the hill, but the Germans to
your right and left are by far the most important to worry about. Use your
grenades to keep them off you, and after about a minute a Tiger tank will move
in. It happens to move just past the North bunker, so stay in the ditch next to
it and plant your explosives on it as it drives past, then get back inside the
wooden shelter and take cover.

Move into the next bunker along to the left and use the fixed MG42 to keep the
troops away from you. Another Tiger tank will make it's way up the hill, and
once again it will make it's way right past you, so hold your cover until
it's close, then plant the bomb on it as it moves past and get back into the
bunker to regain some health. Move along to the North bunker again and use it's
MG42 to kill any Germans moving in, then with about ten seconds left some
P-51 Mustangs will move in and blow the hell out of everything. Keep in cover
as the Germans start to retreat, then move out and take out any last Germans as
they run back down the hill.

Meet up with your squad at the top of the hill to complete one of the most
difficult, yet reasonably fun missions on the game.

=====================================
Well, this is it. Welcome to the final mission in Call of Duty 2. You're
landing on the German side of the Rhine and taking out a number of Flak guns
throughout the streets of Wallendar, Germany.

Use the 50 Cal on the boat and fire at the MG42 gunner in the window of the
main building to the left, and to fire at the Germans behind the wall next to
the Flak gun to the left. Use the 50 Cal to keep shooting at the Germans after
the boat comes to a stop, then when you're told to get out of the boat because
you're sitting ducks, do just that. If you stay in for a second too long you'll
be blown to hell.

Once you're in the water, you'll instantly recognise the resemblance to Omaha
Beach from Medal of Honor or Saving Private Ryan. There's very little cover,
and the Germans are pouring on the ammo at you. Use your M1 Garand to pick off
the MG42 gunners to the left, then flank around them completely to the left and
bounce a grenade off the building so that it lands right in front of the flak
gun on the other side of the broken wall which you should be using for cover.
Do not throw any smoke grenades this early in the mission as you'll need them
later on and you can't pick up any more. Pop up and take out the last few
Germans with your Thompson, then capture the Flak 88 and move through the
building.

Throw a few grenades towards the next Flak 88, then run into the building to
the left and head upstairs where you'll be able to pick off a number of the
enemies without much return fire. Once again secure the Flak 88 once the area
is clear, and move through the building onto the main street.

Kill the five or so Germans behind the obstacles to the left and right of the
street, then prepare for a pretty large battle with a lot of Germans in the
next area. Throw a few grenades towards their position behind the pile of
rubble, then get one smoke grenade in the middle of the road and rush into the
building on the left. Clear that out, then look up the road to the left where
you'll see a few Germans come around the corner.

Jump out of the window and throw a grenade or two up the street, then move up
behind the wall on the right and shoot at the Germans just a few meters away
behind the various objects for cover. Kill the three or four at the other side
of the street, then run across there and take cover from the MG42. Don't waste
a smoke grenade on the MG42 German, he'll be able to get you over it, so just
carefully lean out from the buildings on the left and pick him off, then
proceed down the next row of houses and use grenades and your rifle to take out
the last few Germans by the Flak 88. Capture the gun, then move through the
broken building to the left.

This next area is insanely well defended by a good thirty Germans, and it's
going to take nothing more than complete luck to make it through without dying
on the harder difficulties. Throw some smoke and take cover behind the small
wooden cart, then lean out to either side and fire off rifle or SMG shots at
any Germans you can see. Use your grenades to help you take out the well
covered ones, then run in and use the barrels to the left for cover.

The first ten or so Germans you took out were nothing compared to the ten or
more who are still along the street, so stay in a lot of cover and use grenades
to flush them out so you can spray them with your Thompson. You may wish to use
another smoke grenade here as there are literally that many Germans you don't
really stand much chance at all. Throw all of the grenades you have towards
their positions, then run over some dead enemies to pick up more. Keep inching
your way forward, but always keep behind cover to the left. Use the turned over
table and your rifle to help you take out the last lot of Germans at the end of
the street and behind the wall, then climb over it and move into the graveyard.

Once again, keep to the left and use the church for cover to assist you in
leaning out and picking off the Germans who'll be rushing in. Throw your
grenades over the end wall towards the Flak gun to stop any reinforcements, and
clean up the graveyard with your Thompson. Get on the Flak 88 and point it
down the street, using it to take out the few Germans down at the end, then
move along the road.

Enter the path to the left behind the fence where you'll see a good five or so
Germans behind the wall. When they see how many people are moving in behind you
they'll generally start running away, so kill them from behind and take cover
from the planted MG42 halfway along the road. Pick him off with your weapon,
then rush the building to the left and clean out the bottom floor with your
trusty Thompson. Head upstairs and kill the German, then throw a grenade into
the doorway of the building opposite, which will hopefully take out all three
Germans in that room. Move down and across the road into that building, then
head through.

Kill the few Germans behind the wall in front, then rush around to the left of
that area and use the wall for cover. Throw as many grenades as you have
towards the Flak gun and the other enemy areas around it, then move towards the
Flak gun with your Thompson at the ready. As you get near the 88, a German tank
will come around the corner. I know what you're thinking, but don't. The tank
will take out the flak gun before you get near, so instead, run the other way
and take cover alongside the building.

A tank will head straight past you, so take that out with your sticky bombs,
then clear that small street of any last Germans. Make your way back along
towards the destroyed Flak gun and use grenades to take out the large German
defences there. If you have any smoke, use that to help you get close, and wipe
out the last few Germans. The enemy tank will be heading along the road towards
the other Flak gun, so rush up behind it and plant your bomb, then turn around
and take out the Germans coming through the building you make your way into
this area from.

Once they've all been taken care of, another load of Germans will attack from
the West, where the first tank came from. Move into the center of the square
and get as many grenades as you have left into their position. Head across to
the left by the Flak gun and slowly and carefully make your way over to them
and clean them out with your Thompson.

Once they've all been killed, make your way back to the graveyard where you'll
meet up with the Colonel who will tell you how proud he is of the job you've
managed to do. You should also be proud of yourself as you've just finished one
of the greatest, longest and toughest world War Two games in history.

Well done.
