2.Introduction
-----------------
Dig Dug was first produced in 1982 by Namco, and was a big hit in the
arcades. I never got to play the original Dig-Dug until a few years ago.
I remember how addictive it was, and how hard it got once you got past
the first few levels. Your little guy was sure mowed down in a hurry
after you got past level three. I hope this FAQ will help clear up any
issues about the game, and help you get past level 3:)

3.Overview And Controls
------------------------
You are an exterminator getting rid of underground monsters in the
Earth's crust. To get rid of them, you bring along your trusty air pump
and your wits to clear all the underground of monsters. Basically, you
shoot a needle into the monster and then rapidly hit the A or B Button
to pump them up until they blow up. Its pretty funny to watch. Once you
blow up or drop rocks on all the enemies, the level is over. The
controls are:

D-Pad - Controls miner
A or B Button - Shoots air pump and pumps up the monster
START - Pauses the game

4.Monsters
--------------
There are two types of monsters in the game: Googles and Dragons.
Their differences are explained below:

Googles - Googles are little red mosters with yellow googles. They move
around, and have no external attack. They can move through ground just
like Dragons. They are about 200 points each, depending on how many
you've killed and how fast you kill it.

Dragons - Dragons look just like their name, a dragon. They move around
a little faster, and their external attack is a flame. You'll know when
flame is coming because it will stop moving and its body will glow. They
move through the ground just like Googles. They are worth about 400
points each, depending on how many you've killed and how fast you kill
it.

NOTE : You can explode monsters that are moving through the ground. Just
dig towards them and start hitting A.

5.Point Values And Map Structure
---------------------------------
Since there really is no true ending to this game, you play to beat
the high score. The default high score is 10000, and the game doesn't
remember your high score if you turn the power off. So, to keep the game
interesting, try to remember your high score and beat it. The point
values are:

Dropping a rock on an enemy - 1000 points
Dropping a rock on two enemies - 2500 points

Picking up a fruit - Varies on type of fruit. Fruit usually comes when
you get a big combo from dropping rocks on multiple enemies.

Blowing up a Google - Varies on how fast you blow it up
Blowing up a Dragon - 1.5x the points you get from a Google

Digging through the ground - 10 points for every two spaces of dirt you
clear

Below is a map of the playing field:

6.Tips
--------
- Never stop hitting A when you have an enemy. If he gets loose, he'll
chase you through the level

- Try to drop rocks on enemies. It's too hard in the later levels, so
rack up the points in the beginning levels so you have more lives for
the later levels

- You can tell the round number by the number of flowers on top. A white
flower represents one round, a red flower represents ten rounds
