Class Change System


Secret of Mana's Experience system is gone in Secret of Mana 2,
and is replaced by a new system called the "Class Change System". In
this system, you can upgrade your job once you reach a certain level.
Also, you can upgrade to one of two alignments: the "Light" side or the
"Dark" side. Each character can undergo two Class Changes during the
game; therefore, there are four possible "final" classes for each
character, plus two intermediate classes.

In order to make the change, you must raise your character to
a certain level, and then recieve the power from the Mana Stone. Since
it isn't necessary to be one of the "final" classes to finish the game,
and your choice of "Light" and "Dark" is independent from the scenario,
you can choose freely what kind of classes are in your party.

If you choose "Light" Class Change, the upgraded class will
tend to attack with holy powers. Also, most of your characters will be
able to use heal magics. Thus, this is a "defensive" upgrade.

If you choose "Dark" Class Change, the upgraded class,
especially fighter classes, will tend to have higher offensive power.
Also, the magic these classes use tend to be something like controlling
undead monsters and summoning demons.

Here are the possible classes for the different characters:



Angela's Classes
================

Sorceress (Light)
-----------------
The Sorceress is the result of "Light" class change from the
magician. She can use more spells than the magician, but is not good
with dark magic, since she is now aligned with "Light". She uses
the "Eternal Rod" as her weapon.

Grandevina (Light + Light)
--------------------------
The Grandevina is the highest and purest class of magician.
She is well versed in different spells and can cast two spells at the
same time. She uses "Ganvantein", which takes advantage of the full
power of the user.

Ark Mage (Light + Dark)
-----------------------
The Ark Mage is a magician who received her powers from the
spirits. Thus, uses the spirits to cast the strong spells. She uses
the rod which can only be used with the permission of the spirits. The
"Cane of Spirits" can control the four elements (Earth, Fire, Water, Wind).

Delvar (Dark)
-------------
The Delvar emphasizes the power of the magic, rather than the
purpose. Unlike the Sorceress, she's better at dark spells. Uses
"Kerunonnus's Cane", which uses the power of the Druids.

Rune Master (Dark + Light)
--------------------------
The Rune Master makes use of the strong, dark side of spells.
Her spells can stone the enemy and kill them in one blow. Also, she uses
the "Rune Staff", which is believed to balance order and chaos.

Meigus (Dark + Dark)
--------------------
The Meigus is a dark magician who took the "wrong" path when
searching for the source of magic. Since she was searching for the
source of magic, her spells are rumored to cause calamities. She uses
the "Dragon Rod", which holds unbelievable power.



Charlotte's Classes
===================

Priestess (Light)
-----------------
The Priestess is the class a Cleric obtains with further
training. She can use Light spells, party healing spells, etc. She uses
a legendary flail called "Myorunir" which has magical power within.

Bishop (Light + Light)
----------------------
The Bishop is the highest of the holy classes. She can use
most Light spells, and can destroy undead monsters with her holy power.
Her weapon, "Judge Mentes", is believed to have holy powers.

Sage (Light + Dark)
-------------------
The Sage enjoys ordered studies. She can use healing spells,
light spells, and some spells that give weapons elemental attributes
(Enchant spells). She uses "Gigas Flail", which is rumored only to show
its true power to one who has reached the extremity of knowledge.

Enchantress (Dark)
------------------
The Enchantress can bring non-living things to life, but she's
already diverging from the "Light" side. She can use some healing
spells and can summon magical creatures. She uses "Satan Flail", which
is rumored to have devil's power within.

Necromancer (Dark + Light)
--------------------------
The Necromancer is a wreck of alignment who profanes life by
controlling corpses. She can use healing spells, but is much better at
"Dark" spells that summon undead monsters. Her weapon, "Flail of the
Dead", is believed to be made from corpses' bones, and has the ominous
shape of a skull.

Evil Shaman (Dark + Dark)
-------------------------
The Evil Shaman is a worshipper of the evil god, and controls
the beasts that lurk in the dark. She can summon demons and breathe out
"devil's breath". She uses the "Juggernaut", which is believed to
represent the wheel that drags everything into chaos.



Duran's Classes
===============

Knight (Light)
--------------
His heart, techniques, and body are greater than the Fighter's,
and he values honor and trust more than his own life. He can cast some
healing spells. He can equip "Excalibur".

Paladin (Light + Light)
-----------------------
The Paladin is a fighter who fights for the weak. He can use
healing spells, as well as spells that give weapons attributes of Light.
He can equip the "Brave Blade".

Lord (Light + Dark)
-------------------
"Lord" usually means an owner of land, but here it means a
fighter who has faith in himself and fights for those who depend on him.
His offensive powers are lower than the Paladin, but he can use many
healing spells. He can equip "Sigmund", a sword named for the
legendary hero.

Gladiator (Dark)
----------------
The Gladiator values the fight itself more than honor and trust.
He can use neither spells nor shields, but can equip "Leviathan", which
symbolises betrayal.

Sword Master (Dark + Light)
---------------------------
The Sword Master has lived in darkness, but he hasn't forgotten
his duty. He is similar to a Samurai. He has keen senses, and he lives for
real battles. He can give his weapon earth, fire, water, or wind
attributes to maximize his power. Also, he can equip "Ragnarok", which
can only be used by the master of the swords.

Duelist (Dark + Dark)
---------------------
The Duelist wants nothing but to fight, and he only finds
happiness in conquering his opponent. He has the most offensive power of
any fighter class, and can use spells that gives swords "Dark" attributes.
He can equip "Death Bringer", which is belived to bring death to both
wielder and opponent.



Hawkeye's Classes
=================

Ranger (Light)
--------------
The Ranger communes with nature, can identify monsters, and
sets traps. He uses supporting spells such as "Invisible", and can
change his appearance. He uses the "Cresent Knife".

Wanderer (Light + Light)
------------------------
The Wanderer has separated himself from society and resides in
nature. He knows the Ranger's techniques and can use "Tree" and "Moon"
spells. He uses a weapon called "Oriharkon", which is tempered from
legendary metal.

Rogue (Light + Dark)
--------------------
The Rogue always looks out for himself, and will use any means
necessary to get the job done. He is often viewed as a violent person,
but he is not on the Dark side. He can set stronger traps than the
Ranger, and can use "Tree" and "Moon" spells. He uses "Manthroater",
which has wavy design.

Ninja (Dark)
------------
The Ninja has mastered the art of silently killing the enemy.
He can control nature and uses the four elementals as means of attack.
He can also use Shurikens, but he normally uses a weapon called
"Fudoumyou ou".

Ninja Master (Dark + Light)
---------------------------
The advanced class of Ninja is the Ninja Master. He can do
rapid Shuriken throws, hide in shadows, and attacks with the four
elementals. He uses "Kongourakan", the strongest Ninja knife.

Night Blade (Dark + Dark)
-------------------------
Night Blade is professional assasin who kills enemies with
certainty. He is experienced at using poisonous mists, poisonous needle
traps, and a weapon called "Death Stroke", which looks like a long needle.



Kevin's Classes
===============

Monk (Light)
------------
The Monk is a martial artist who emphasizes mental training.
He can cast some healing spells, and uses a weapon called "Aura Glove",
which is designed not to bleed the opponent.

God Hand (Light + Light)
------------------------
The God Hand is an ultimate martial artist who has great heart,
technique, and body. Holy power is rumored to reside in his fists. He
can cast healing spells and a special magic called "Aura Wave". He uses
the "Spiral Claw".

Warrior Monk (Light + Dark)
---------------------------
The Warrior Monk uses his mental power to draw out the "waza".
(Waza is a martial art trick) He can cast some healing spells and a magic
which makes his fists rasp MP from enemies. He uses the "Holy Glove",
which has holy silver tacks on the knuckles.

Bashuker (Dark)
---------------
Unlike the Monk, the Bashuker only searched for strength. He
can't use spells, but his offensive power is higher than the Monk's. He
uses "Rotton Knuckle", which has acidic claws.

Delvish (Dark + Light)
----------------------
The Delvish has concealed his feelings and trained further than
the Bashuker. He can cast magic which makes his fists rasp HP from enemies.
He uses the "Gigas Glove", which forms airblades that slash the enemy.

Death Hand (Dark + Dark)
------------------------
The Death Hand has sold his heart to evil to obtain great power.
His offensive power is extremely high, and he has maximum power when he
uses "Skull Disect", a weapon which cuts open the opponent's skull and
sucks out their brain.



Riesz's Classes
===============

Valkyrie (Light)
----------------
The Valkyrie is a legendary war goddess who delivered souls to
Valhalla. She casts spells that enhance her abilities, and she uses the
legendary spear "Gungnir".

Vanadies (Light + Light)
------------------------
The Vanadies is a goddess who separates the soul of a dead
person from his body. She casts spells that enhance her abilities,
and she attacks with a Light spear. She uses "True Spear", the ultimate
spear.

Star Lancer (Light + Dark)
--------------------------
The Star Lancer is as cold and pure as the stars in the sky.
She casts spells that enhance not only herself, but other party menbers
as well. She uses a spear called "Star Gazer", which, when thrown, draws
a smooth arc that resembles shooting stars.

Rune Maiden (Dark)
------------------
The Rune Maiden remains pure to maximize her strength. She
willingly casts spells that weaken opponents to guarantee her victory. She
uses a spear called "Pain Tooth".

Dragon Master (Dark + Light)
---------------------------
The Dragon Master can control dragons with her strength she
aquired fighting alongside dragons. Like the Rune Maiden, she willingly
casts spells that weaken opponents, but she also can summon dragons. She
uses the "Dragon Lance", which has a thin spearhead so it can pierce
between the dragon's scales.

Fenrir Knight (Dark + Dark)
---------------------------
The Fenrir Knight is a fighter who was has been named Fenrir,
a legendary wolf rumored to swallow Odin. She uses magic that decreases
all of the enemies' abilities and can summon the dark beasts. She uses
the "Spear of the Giants".
