2) Who is Sun Quan?

From the DW3 Character Database:
The First Emperor of the Wu Kingdom. He is the second son of Sun Jian
and the younger brother of Sun Ce. He succeeds the family line,
following Sun Ce's sudden death. Of his younger brother, Sun Ce is to
have said, "You believe that your offense is strong, but in actuality,
it is your defense which is stronger." At the Battle of Chi Bi, Sun Quan
met the much larger forces of Cao Cao and managed to emerge victorious.

LordKarasuman's Notes: Sun Quan's style name is Zhongmou. It is implied
that due to what Sun Ce said to Sun Quan, Quan thought that he had to
prove his valor in offensive capabilities. He tried once at He Fei to
challenge Zhang Liao to a duel. Later, his advisor Zhang Zhao told him
never to attempt such a thing again, as he is the ruler of a kingdom and
it is the duty of the generals to partake in duels. Sun Quan is often
made out to be better suited to the position of a civil office rather
than ruler of a kingdom.
-----------------------------------------------------------
3) Why would you use this character?

Sun Quan is the type of character you would call average. Although he is
not one of the best characters in the game, he certainly has enough
technique and power to do really well. You could say he's a sword-user
for beginners.
-----------------------------------------------------------
4) Character Stats

Characters in Dynasty Warriors 3 have various different statistics. Here
is a list of them and their functions.

A. Attack
Attack is the amount of attack power that a character has.
B. Defense
Defense limits the damage done to a character.
C. Musou
Musou stats gauge how long your Musou bar is.
D. HP

E. Bow Attack/Defense
Bow Attack increases your arrow attack power, while defense increase
your durability to arrow attacks.
F. Mounted Attack/Defense

increase your durability on horses respectively.
G. Musou Charge

getting hit, attacking, or charging up using circle.
H. Luck
Luck increases your ability to get meatbun, war-god axe, and armor
items.
I. Jump
Jump increases your maximum jumping altitude.
J. Reach
Reach increases the range of your attacks.
-----------------------------------------------------------
5) Moves and 4th Weapon Description

Moves Key:
S - Square
T - Triangle
Regular Attack - S's

Regular Attack: Sun Quan's regular attack pattern is mostly very wide,
although a few hits are designed to hit only one person.

Jump Attack: Sun Quan thrusts his sword downward.

Mounted Attack/Musou: Sun Quan thrusts his sword downwards to his side,
right to left.

Dash Attack: Sun Quan does a dash thrust with his sword.

T: Sun Quan does a frontal 180 degree slash.

ST: Sun Quan's first launcher. Thrusts his sword up to lift the enemy.

SST: Sun Quan does a dizzy slash that sorta aims towards his right.

SSST: Sun Quan does a downward slash then does an almost 360 degree
slash. Two hits, but does not hit a single person twice.

SSSST: Sun Quan's second launcher. Similar to his first, but stronger.

SSSSST: Sun Quan throws a wave of energy with his sword.

Musou: Sun Quan slashes constantly, then with the ending of the Musou
does a 180 degree slash.

4th Weapon Information:
The elements are a special ability a weapon may be equipped with. They
cause some extra damage on certain combos. They are Fire, Lightning, and
Death. 4th weapons give a very high increase to character stats.

4th Weapon: Master Wolf
Element - None
Basic Attack +42
Musou +68
Attack +22
Bow Attack +49
Bow Defense +50
Musou Charge +26

How to get his 4th Weapon: Defeat Zhang He at He Fei Castle -- The
Special Item message will show up. It will appear to the right of the
pond in the middle of the castle.

There is a popular trick to getting fourth weapons. Pick the person you
want to get the fourth weapon in one of the player slots. Pick a maxed
out, powerful character in the other slot. Then, fulfill the
requirements needed to get the fourth weapon with the maxed out
character, and get the weapon. Afterwards complete the level.

6) Overview and Character Strategy

Sun Quan is an above-average sword-user, but he has his flaws. For one,
his 4th Weapons is one of the few weapons that do not have an element.
This is rather disappointing, as it would have been a good addition. His
T has too short of a Reach to be of good use. His SST can't really hit
more than one person, two if he's lucky. Quan's Musou leaves the enemy
standing up. Although more damage may be done, it gives the enemy the
ability to counter with his or her own Musou. His SSSSST is an energy-
wave-type, which is one of the worst finishers in my opinion. Although
it is sort of made up for in the way of knockback.

His flaws are overshadowed by his strengths. His SSST is a really nice
crowd-clearer, and it is easy and quick to pull off. His 4th Weapon,
although lacking in element, is made up for in statistics. It has an up
to Musou and Attack, which is always welcome. His Bow Attack is very
nice, and his Bow Defense is awesome, so he needs not fear arrow-users.
Musou Charge is probably one of the best statistics in the game, if not
the best. His downward thrust is good for unlimited combos, but his
SSSST is much better for that job. Last but not least, Quan backs up all
his moves with good hitting power.

Sun Quan can play as a Musou-focused character, where he only needs to
use his Musou. However, his attack is really good to the point where he
could just crash into groups and constantly do his SSST. It's fun to see
soldiers knock into each other.

Zhongmou has a good enough Bow Attack that he can play the part of
'master archer.' What I mean is he can benefit generously from the Flame
Arrow and Huang's Bow item, even if his Bow Attack is 11 points below
Huang Zhong's, and 9 points below Xiahou Yuan.

Very well-rounded, Zhongmou can be played with ease by anybody.

Recommended Equipment:
Tortoise Amulet
Dragon Amulet
Peacock Urn
Red Hare Saddle
Buckler

7) Stage Strategy

Yi Ling: This stage isn't actually as hard on Wu side than it is on Shu
side. The first thing to do is kill Wei Yan, and do it quick. You don't
have much time, as your forces can die quickly. Then move on to Zhao
Yun, who is fighting a sub-officer Pan Zhang. After he's gone, Lu Xun
will send Zhu Ran to initiate the fire attack on the Shu camp. He will
meet Zhang Bao. Do not assist him immediately, but go after Huang Quan.
After that, swiftly assist Zhu Ran to defeat Zhang Bao and his guards to
clear a path. Sun Shang Xiang will hold out pretty well against Pang
Tong / Huang Zhong, but you should still help her out by killing him. If
it hasn't already happened, Zhou Yu / Gan Ning should already have been
defeated by Guan Yu / Ma Chao and Zhuge Liang should appear when Zhu Ran
does his fire attack. Go for Guan Yu / Ma Chao quickly and kill him. He
has a lot of officers and forces -- wear his army down a bit before
fighting him. Then go through the Ma An Gate and head straight for Liu
Bei and Zhuge Liang. There should be no archers in the area, so it will
be easy to take care of them. Do so. It's simple enough.

He Fei Castle: To pass this level, ride a fast horse. Go through the
left, past the Wall of Arrows and the Wind Corridor. Don't waste any
time playing with the enemy soldiers. Go straight for Cao Cao / Sima Yi,
ignore the two units at the south gate. You can't ride your horse up the
stairs, so walk. There is an AI bug that you can exploit at the top of
the stairs where Cao Cao / Sima Yi is, and that would be the enemy
soldier reinforcements never go up there and remain at the bottom of the
bridge leading to Cao Cao / Sima Yi. Thus, if you kill everybody at the
top, nobody else will be able to come up and get you because the AI is
not designed well enough to go up. Waste everybody, archers first. Then
waste all your arrows on Cao Cao / Sima Yi. If that doesn't kill him,
then start attacking and finish the stage.

Second: Rouge Fortress
Third: He Fei
Fourth: Yi Ling

Final: He Fei Castle
