1) Introduction
---------------
This is a FAQ for the Playstation 2 game, K-1 World Grand Prix 2001. It was
released on December 6, 2001, in Japan. This FAQ will mainly deal with
unlocking the Revival Mode and secrets in the game. Everything else is rather
self-explanatory. To learn how to play the game, I suggest using the
Practice mode.
2) Frequently Asked Questions
-----------------------------
Q) Can I play it without much knowledge of Japanese?
A) Yes. There is not a lot of Japanese. The announcing is in Japanese, but it
is pretty funny to listen to, instead of an English one. The game, after all
is from a Japanese Fighting tournament. Hopefully, with the help of this
FAQ you can clear Revival mode. Most of the other modes do not have a lot of
Japanese.
Q) Are there any plans to release the game in North America or Europe?
A) It is unclear at this time. Konami has not released any information
concerning a release outside Japan. There are rumours that Konami does not
possess the rights to sell a K-1 game in North America. If that is true,
then it would seem unlikely to show up in another market.
Q) Can I change the difficulty in Revival Mode?
A) No. Changing the difficulty settings does not affect the difficulty in
Revival Mode.
3) Clearing Revival Mode
------------------------
Revival Mode revives previous matches from the past and allows you to play them
again. You must defeat your opponent using the same technique from the old
match.
There are four levels in Revival mode. At the beginning, only level one is
unlocked and playable. After completing all the challenges in the level, the
next level is unlocked. In each fight, there is a certain condition that you
must meet to clear that challenge. At the beginning, the challenges are simple,
but in the higher levels, they get to be more difficult. After clearing each
challenge, you also unlock the Revival video to view in the Fighter's Museum.
When you clear Level 4 of the Revival mode, you unlock Revival Mode-If Mode.
Please note with the conditions, if you must knock the opponent out with a
specific punch or kick, then you must knock them out for the FINAL time using
that move. Furthermore, if you Automatically K.O your opponent, it will still
meet the conditions of the challenge.
