Amstelveen, Netherlands and Munich, Germany, February 3rd, 2026 – Publisher Mindscape and Developer Aesir Interactive are excited to reveal a five-minute gameplay showcase and brand-new key art for the upcoming game The Legend of Khiimori.
The new gameplay video explains the challenges and dangers you will encounter during your deliveries. It features commentary from our experienced Design Director, Steve Bristow, who guides you through a full gameplay loop of our upcoming, system-driven Early Access version of the game.

By system‑driven, we mean that we hand over authorship to the player. Instead of being told what the story is, players create their own through interacting systems such as movement, survival, terrain, consequences, and choice. Every decision matters, and no two self‑written stories are the same.
On top of our system-driven gameplay during Early Access, a main story and fully crafted narrative will be added for the game's full release.
Distance and time matter. Preparation decides everything!
- Carry cargo and diplomatic messages into the far reaches beyond your nomad village.
- Keep yourself safe from danger by strategically planning your delivery routes across the wide steppes, over snowy peaks, or through the scorching desert.
- Prepare yourself for harsh climates, steep cliffs, and amazing landscapes by crafting essential items, and setting up camp in the untamed wilds.
- Breed authentic horses based on real‑world horse genetics and select the perfect mount for each courier mission across the Mongolian wilderness.
- Unlock vital equipment by increasing your Yam rank, each upgrade becoming an essential part of your next journey.
- Keep your horse's saddlebags well balanced to prevent your horse from sustaining life‑threatening injuries.
- On every journey, you will face new decisions on how to overcome danger: for example, decide if you want to shoot wolves with a well‑aimed arrow or scare them away with powder pouches.
- Unexplored ruins, challenges involving fire, weather and spirits, hostile areas and many more secrets await you in this system‑driven open world.
- For the Early Access release, voice‑over will already be partly available in English and Mongolian. We are proud to introduce our Mongolian voice actors, who bring our characters to life with their wonderful performances!
