Watford, United Kingdom – 30th of January – Independent publisher Wired Productions and developer Pollard Studio are once again spotlighting the sound and score of KARMA: The Dark World with the release of a new short documentary exploring the music and audio technology behind the critically acclaimed psychological horror released in 2025, whose score earned a WSA nomination. The feature highlights how sound and silence underpin the game's emotional weight and unsettling atmosphere. The release coincides with a Steam Daily Deal, offering players 45% off for a limited time, and inviting a wider audience to experience how audio plays a central role in KARMA's thought-provoking psychological horror.
The Behind the Scenes video offers a detailed look at how the music and audio for KARMA: The Dark World were shaped under the direction of Geng Li, who handled both the original score and the game's sound design. The production spanned multiple locations worldwide, with the full orchestra recorded in Hungary, select instruments such as drums captured in Japan, and final mixing and finishing completed in the United States, reflecting the global scale of the project. Across nearly four hours of compositions, Li's work was designed to not only support but play a key role in the game's psychological tension and fragmented realities. The score also incorporates restrained, character-focused motifs alongside fuller, emotionally charged cues, together reinforcing the game's narrative atmosphere and enhancing the emotional stakes of each encounter.
