Turnbound enters Early Access today!

Independent studio 1TK Games is excited to announce that Turnbound, its strategic autobattler built around experimentation and mastery, is now available in Early Access on Steam.

Following months of public testing through its demo and the launch of Duels Mode, Early Access marks a major step forward for Turnbound. This release introduces the game's competitive layer, a new playable hero, expanded systems, and the foundations for long-term development shaped alongside the community.

About Turnbound

Turnbound is a strategic autobattler focused on experimentation, theorycrafting, and mastery. Players build powerful synergies through tiles, heroes, and items while navigating increasingly challenging encounters. 

From demo to competitive foundation

Since the demo's release, Turnbound has been shaped alongside its community. Players have already been sharing builds, breaking systems, and pushing strategies through Duels Mode. 

Early Access opens the full game loop, introduces progression and competitive structure, and sets the stage for rapid iteration based on player feedback.

Leaderboards and Competitive Endgame

With Early Access, the final Chamber (currently Chamber 6) becomes the Leaderboard Chamber, serving as Turnbound's competitive endgame.

At launch, leaderboards focus on rankings within this final Chamber. Over the course of Early Access, the team plans to expand this system with:

• Visibility into overall leaderboard placement

• Friend-based leaderboards using Steam Friends

• Additional statistics tied to shared build codes, including usage and win/loss data

These features will roll out progressively as the competitive layer evolves.

A New Playable Hero: Robin Hood

Robin Hood joins the roster as a brand-new playable hero at Early Access launch. Designed around adaptability and risk-reward decision-making, Robin Hood introduces new synergies and playstyles, offering fresh ways to approach runs and builds.

Founders Pack

An optional Founders Pack is available for players who want to support Turnbound early.

The Founders Pack includes:

• Exclusive cosmetic content available on day one

• First Access to 1.0 content when it is ready, as a thank-you to early supporters

• Inclusion in an exclusive Discord Channel

The pack is cosmetic-only and does not impact gameplay or competitive balance. It exists purely to recognize and celebrate players helping shape the game's future. On Steam, it appears as a DLC-style package linked to the base game.

Expanded Core Systems, Progression, and Content

Early Access also significantly expands Turnbound's core systems and progression layers.

At launch, players will discover:

• A new wave of items and trinkets

• New shop abilities and ultimates for Alice and The Monkey King

• Expanded progression with new character levels, player levels, challenges, and Steam achievements
   

These additions deepen build variety and create more long-term goals as the game evolves.

Localization & support

Turnbound will support multiple languages including English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese (interface and subtitles).

Turnbound is available on PC and Mac, with full support for Steam Deck, optimized for both desktop and handheld play.

Looking ahead

Early Access is not a finish line, but a starting point. The team plans to iterate quickly, expand systems, and deepen progression based on how players actually engage with the game. Additional features and content are already in development and will be shared as they solidify.
