A new expansion featuring two epic adventures that propel The Throne of Thorns campaign toward its climactic conclusion
Stockholm, Sweden (December 9, 2025) | Today, Free League Publishing announced that Ruins of Symbaroum: The Throne of Thorns III, a new book presenting two epic adventures that bring the six-part The Throne of Thorns campaign to its dramatic finale, is now available for pre-order in the Free League webshop ahead of its release in Q2 2026. The long-awaited volume features more than 20 full-color maps, over 70 stat blocks, and a wealth of handouts and lore. Pre-orders also give immediate access to complete PDFs of the products, at no extra cost.
"It is still there, in the depths of Davokar, the Throne of Thorns – naked but trembling with power; power that in the wrong hands will drown the world in the darkness of The Eternal Night."

Civil war is fracturing Ambria while Davokar grows darker and more threatening by the day. Yet even war and rising monstrosities pale beside the actual danger. Deep in the heart of the forest stands the Throne of Thorns, a source of immense power that could plunge the world into the Eternal Night if claimed by the wrong hands.
This volume contains two epic adventures that form the fifth and sixth episodes of The Throne of Thorns campaign, fully adapted for the 5E-compatible Ruins of Symbaroum game line. Together, they conclude the sweeping six-part saga as forces seeking the Throne advance their agendas, and the forest begins to wake. In the end, what happens depends entirely on the choices of the heroes who brave its shadows.
Ruins of Symbaroum: The Throne of Thorns III includes the following:
-
Two Full-length Adventures: The Haunted Waste and Davokar Awakens, designed for level 13 to 20 characters and crafted to conclude the epic The Throne of Thorns campaign.
-
More than 20 Color Maps: Detailed locations across towns, forests, and ancient ruins that bring each chapter of the adventure to life.
-
Over 70 Stat Blocks: A wide range of non-player characters that include monsters, possible allies, dangerous foes, and well-known figures central to the story.
-
A Rich Collection of Handouts: Immersive materials that provide key information for social encounters, investigation, and problem-solving during play.
- Core Rulebook Requirement: To use this volume, players and Gamemasters will need the Ruins of Symbaroum Core Setting Books, including the Player's Guide, Gamemaster's Guide, and Bestiary.

About Ruins of Symbaroum Game Line
Ruins of Symbaroum brings the acclaimed dark fantasy world of Symbaroum to the world's most popular roleplaying game ruleset, 5E. The game line introduces new systems for traveling and rests, social challenges, and magic, along with the dangerous effects of Corruption, a force that can twist or consume any character who draws too heavily on mystical power.
Set beside the vast forest of Davokar, the story follows the Ambrians as they explore the ruins of the fallen Empire of Symbaroum while confronting monsters, hidden dangers, the infectious Corruption, and the Iron Pact elves who've vowed to keep anyone from disturbing an ancient evil. The result is a game of mystery, peril, and discovery, where every choice carries risk and every expedition has a price.
