Surreal bodycam psychological horror game Dreamcore launches January 23rd on Xbox and Steam
Play the new demo set in the labyrinthine nightmare neighborhood Eternal Suburbia
Buenos Aires, Argentina, December 11th, 2024 - Indie developer Montraluz, in partnership with publisher Tlön Industries, have today revealed that their surreal first-person, body-cam psychological horror game Dreamcore will be launching January 23rd, 2025 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. You can get a sneak peak at the game now, however, as there's a new demo out today!
Available today through December 31st on Steam and Xbox as part of its Winter Demo Festival, this latest demo highlights the game's second world, Eternal Suburbia. Inspired by the enigmatic cottages from Level 94 of the Backrooms wiki, where a seemingly idyllic neighborhood takes on a disturbingly reality-breaking form as it twists, expands, and loops around in uncanny ways. Can you uncover the unsettling secret that lies beyond its familiar façade?
Dreamcore sets players loose to explore a multitude of extraordinary, expansive worlds based around labyrinths of liminal spaces. Loosely inspired by the "backrooms" memes, Dreamcore offers a one-of-a-kind experience to probe these nonlinear realms, with each world featuring a unique puzzle players must solve in order to locate its exit.
Developed in Unreal Engine 5, each of Dreamcore's worlds offers a hazy, twisted memory of the 1980s, complete with the grainy aesthetic of found footage VHS tapes. Navigate intricately linked structures and captivating landscapes, where every environment encourages unparalleled adventures and exploration. Each map presents a vast range of possibilities, delivering entirely distinct experiences.
