PSYCHOANALYTIC FMV GAME 'OF TWO MINDS' IS NOW AVAILABLE
Unravel the minds of a group of people in the gritty but vibrant New York of the late 80s in this FMV game, created with footage actually shot in 1989
Burgeon & Flourish announced today that their free-association psychoanalytic FMV game Of Two Minds is now available on iOS for $2.99/€2.99. Of Two Minds puts you in the psychoanalyst's chair to explore the minds and psyches of a cast of flawed, human, contradictory and vulnerable characters in the New York of the late 80s. Discovering and connecting the topics and ideas in their thoughts and memories will allow you to make free-association connections based in psychoanalytic concepts, unveiling more of the story as you fill in the gaps, digging deeper into their obsessions, secrets, and histories.
Of Two Minds is a game 35 years in the making: it started back in 1989, when international award-winning film director Michael Bergmann (founder of Burgeon & Flourish) shot more than three hours of fiction about the intensity of two psychoanalysts' love affair. 30 years later, in an inspired collaboration with game designer and composer Lucas Tahiruzzaman Syed, this footage was adapted into the nonlinear narrative game Of Two Minds.
As psychoanalysis faded from the mainstream landscape, increasingly replaced with therapies based on drugs and faster methods, Michael became obsessed with preserving and popularizing some of its most exciting ideas, ideas which can transform a human life but are in danger of being lost forever.
Dive into this narrative experience to unveil all the secrets of its set of unique characters, coming to iOS on February 5th!
ABOUT OF TWO MINDS
Of Two Minds is a free association FMV game set in the 80s – and created with footage actually shot back in 1989. The game places you in the mindset of a psychoanalyst, diving into the psyche of a network of people (a couple having an affair, their spouses, and even their own analysts, one of whom goes broke while another marries the wrong person) in the gritty but vibrant New York of the late 80s. Every time you discover a new Memory, you will have to connect the topics and ideas — Themes — that appear in every video. Working with these Themes will unlock new videos, filling in the gaps in the story as so you get to know each character and their motivations. Your deductions and daring leaps of reason and creativity will help you dig deeper into their lives and minds.
