The new Venom trailers have wisely decided to actually, you know, have Venom in them, and this latest trailer has about four. Confused? Allow me to try to explain.
Venom will have Eddie Brock fighting against the Life Foundation, which was the main antagonist in the popular "Lethal Protector" comic arc from the 90's. After the foundation experimented on the symbiote for a while, they produced five cast off symbiotes: Riot, Scream, Agony, Lasher and Phage. It was all a bit silly, with "seeds" being harvested from the Venom symbiote and merged with humans, and they were pretty campy, like the female symbiote attacking people with her hair tendrils, which was as stupid as it sounds. All in all, they were not exactly a great addition to Venom history, and you had the added ridiculousness of having an "evil version" of Spider-Man getting evil versions of himself.
Now, in this latest trailer, we have what appears to be Riot fighting with Venom at the end of the trailer. Unlike the other symbiotes, Riot doesn't bond with one host, instead jumping from one to another, but it looks like the symbiote will bond with the big bad at the end for what I assume will be a "climactic final battle".
Take a look at the trailer below, Venom comes out October 5th.
