After finally clearing his name, Luke Cage is enjoying a bit of low-level fame in Harlem, slugging drug dealers in the face and taking selfies with hood honeys and random street kids. Everything is going smooth until he meets Bushmaster, a lunatic who is one of the few people that can actually hurt Cage. In the comics, there have been a couple Bushmasters, but seeing as how the second one has bionic arms and a robot tail instead of legs, I am assuming they are going with the first version of Bushmaster, who first appeared in Iron Fist #15. Created by writer Chris Claremont and John Byrne, Bushmaster's alter ego was John McIver, who was often called John Bushmaster. He became a Maggia crime boss in Europe and expanded into the United States, where he ran into Misty Knight (who looks like she will get her bionic arm this season). In the book, Misty Knight, Iron Fist and Power Man (Cage) beat the tar out of him, but during the fight he is transformed into"Unliving metal", a plot line I am assuming they are not going to explore in the show.
