After the rather disappointing teaser for Venom that showed a lot of Tom Hardy riding motorcycles and running around but literally no symbiote, it appears that we have our first real look at the Lethal Protector. Oddly, it's from a bottle of Iced tea. And that tea? Sounds like it tastes reaaaaaal gross.
This leaked image of a bottle of Brisk Iced Tea (assuming it's Lipton, but I don't see the brand name anywhere) has the Venom logo and a picture of the symbiote on it, and clearly looks like some kind of movie tie in between Venom and the Dark Cherry Limeade flavor, which sounds like a bag of barf waiting to happen. I suppose the "Dark Cherry" is supposed to carry an air of menace, but you would think that "Black Cherry" would have worked better, since black cherry is an actual thing, and Venom's suit is black as well, but I digress.
The good news is that at least on the label, Venom looks exactly how he should, with the white eyes and gaping maw rimmed with razor sharp teeth. We should be getting a new trailer soon, so hopefully we can actually get a look at how Venom will sound and move.
Venom hits theaters on October 5th, 2018, and both Tom Hardy and director Ruben Fleischer have confirmed that the story will be loosely based on the popular Lethal Protector run from the 90's.
