I for one cannot wait for this upcoming vampiric action-RPG from DONTNOD. I very much want it to be good, and it looks like the devs are taking things seriously, pushing back the release date and releasing a constant stream of updates and dev journals, which is such a smart move. Keeping the fans invested... who would have thought that could work for a game? This new story trailer goes more in depth, focusing on the struggle of a newly turned doctor/vampire.
In Vampyr, you play as Jonathan Reid, a doctor in 1918 London who has been newly-turned into a vampire following his return from the Great War. His convictions shattered, Reid discovers the existence of a dark new world where supernatural creatures and secret societies live together in the shadows... and he is now part of this world.
As a newborn vampire, Reid is plagued by an irrepressible thirst for blood as he is thrust into a strange new world that he has never known. Between ancient societies, mysterious murders and an imminent large-scale vampire hunt, his scientific assurances are challenged like never before as he attempts to make sense of his new life. Driven by a personal desire to learn who caused his transformation and why, Jonathan Reid continues working to find a cure for the devastating disease that is decimating its citizens.
