Team 17 has been pretty busy publishing everything under the sun, and now they are teaming with Villa Gorilla to release Yoku's Island Express, a new pinball style, open world exploration adventure.

Players assume the role of Yoku the Dung Beetle, who rolled into Mokumana Island to relieve the pterodactyl postmaster of his duties, despite a flying lizard seeming to be the perfect choice for deliveries. Ah, but Yoku wants that postal life, and you know what that means; kicking back, soaking up the sun and delivering parcels on a tropical paradise!

Unfortunately, an ancient Island deity is trapped in a restless sleep, and a host of colorful and strange islanders are plagued by the quakes and storms brought on by its nightmares. Before you can say, "the hell does this have to do with me?" you realize that of course, it’s up to you (Yoku) to traverse the island, using a unique blend of pinball mechanics and open world exploration to fix everyone's problems.

With a pretty sweet hand painted style, you flip, jump and bump around the island island on your quest to rebuild the post-office, discover the mystery of the Fruit Altar, and wake an old god from its deep slumber. Just everyday USPS stuff.

“With Team17 we’ve found a publishing partner that cherishes innovation and style – something we recognized way back when we played Alien Breed on our Amigas. We feel that their commitment to quality and fun gameplay is a perfect match for us, and we are incredibly excited to be working with Debbie and the team to finish and release Yoku’s Island Express.” said Jens Andersson, Co-Founder of Villa Gorilla

Yoku’s Island Express is coming to Xbox One, PS 4, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2018.
