My Time at Portia is an RPG and crafting sim game from Team 17, the team behind the Worms series. Team17 Digital Limited is an indie developer that publishes games for PC, console, mobile and handheld devices and other digital platforms. Their newest title is less about small worms with bazookas and more about the end of the world, and more importantly, what comes after it.
In My Time at Portia, the apocalypse seems to have gone down, but instead of a Fallout-esque wasteland, what you end up with is actually pretty cheery. Your new post-apocalyptic life begins in Portia, a small town on the edge of civilization. You'll basically need to jumpstart society again, building on and expanding your newly inherited workshop. There is also the social side of it to worry about as well, as the human race can't repopulate itself. You will need to pursue relationships, fall in love, explore the land, gather resources, battle the ever-present monsters roaming the countryside, farm, cook, and fish.
The team estimates that at present, the game has “up to 25 hours of content, with lots to craft, a huge amount of story, commissions to fulfill, and areas to explore.” As early access continues, new areas will be added, with more story, lore, side-quests and minigames.
