It’s been a month since players began surging north to explore the region of Thorwal in the Dark Eye MMORPG Herokon Online. Players who have already mastered those new challenges can now test their mettle with more exciting adventures. Developer Silver Style has expanded Thorwal, adding the Bodir Valley, once ruled by the mysterious priest-kings, and Daspota, the infamous pirate den. Those brave enough to explore the Cursed Goblin Cave should only do so in groups: an unfathomable enemy lurks in the depths of the new dungeon. In addition to many other exciting enhancements, the update introduces two new enemy types and an improved chat client. It also continues the epic quest series, adding new chapters to your hero’s story.

Remains of Days Gone By

The defining characteristic of the Bodir Valley, which lies in the south of Thorwal, is the Bodir River. Fertile farmland and thick forests teem along Thorwal’s 350 mile-long lifeline. It’s also an important transportation route, allowing goods to be transported by boat all the way to the mouth of the river in the Gulf of Prem. But it’s difficult to overlook the fact that the valley has seen better days: the Bodir Road, once a much-trafficked royal road, is slowly decaying and the ruins of forts and castles that dot the landscape are reminders of when the uncanny priest-kings controlled the area. But the region is home to more than Thorwalians. Hidden among the hills and woods in the northeast of the valley lies an old orcish temple–and there are ominous indications that it’s not as abandoned as one might have hoped...

Daspota, the former pirate den, was once the scourge of the Gulf of Prem. Ever since Tronde Torbenson captured it more than twenty years ago, though, all has been quiet in the village. But things have been rough near Daspota recently and even experienced strangers level 35 and up should be careful who they trust. The Thorwalians stationed there as merchants and traders seem to have forgotten their peaceful veneers and secretly taken up piracy again.

The Cursed Goblin Cave

Undead bodies stumble through moldering catacombs as the stench of decay fills the air. Whatever happened here, this is no place for the living. Near the city of Baliho, brave heroes level 25 and up will find a challenge worthy of their skills as they search for treasures in the goblin cave. Goblin zombies and zombie boars guard their valuable booty and savagely attack all that lives. Heroes would be wise not underestimate the subterranean challenge: only a dedicated group can conquer the cave and its cursed secret.

Deep, Meaningful Quests

Adventures in Herokon Online are built atop complex, deep stories. All the quests come from the pens of experienced TDE authors. The epic quest series begins right away, starting with the game’s tutorial, and revolves around the background story and fate of your own hero. The update continues the series, extending it with two exciting adventures, “The Secret of the Deed” and “Hidden in the Swamp”.

  • Two new enemy types
  • New rewards for heroic deeds
  • New Heroic Deed menu: rewards can be collected whenever you want
  • Possibility to invite friends and to receive rewards for doing so
