Reactive Studios updates the Kickstarter-funded Codename Cygnus today with over 20 Game Center achievements. The release continues to improve upon its speech recognition, VoiceOver accessibility, and iOS7 UI features.
The new version also reduces the complete Mission 1 (five episode pack) price from $6.99 to $2.99. Prices for individual episodes are also reduced from $1.99 to $0.99. The game and its Prologue episode remain free to download and play on iOS devices.
Codename Cygnus is an interactive radio drama featuring over 25 talented voice actors, including Rob Wiethoff (John Marston, Red Dead Redemption), Logan Cunningham (Rucks, Bastion), Sarah Elmaleh (Skulls of the Shogun, Gone Home), Chris Ciulla (Fallout: New Vegas), Chris Rando (Dance Central 3), David Olsen (Beauty and the Geek, season 4 winner), Ziba Scott (owner of indie studio Popcannibal), and many others.
The final episode of Mission 1, "Neptune's Gift," is written by Chris Dahlen, former editor-in-chief of Kill Screen Magazine and script writer of Klei's Mark of the Ninja.
"After launch we realized that the completion of Mission 1 story content was only one of the many goals we needed to accomplish next," said Jonathon Myers, CEO and Creative Director at Reactive Studios. "We had to entirely refocus, optimize for iOS7, and streamline the savegame profile experience for mobile. We had to make it elegant and anonymous to move forward."
The game automatically saves and continually syncs a player's profile online, retaining story progress, decisions, and statistics, even if the app is deleted and reinstalled. Only an anonymous and customizable Agent Name is used for reference, so no login is required for creating a profile.
The latest Codename Cygnus update is currently available for free download on the iTunes App Store for all iOS devices. The five minute tutorial Prologue episode is included with the download.
